Julia A. Boyd

A psychotherapist with a clinical practice, Julia A. Boyd is the author of In the Company of My Sisters: Black Women and Self-Esteem, Girlfriend to Girlfriend: Everyday Wisdom and Affirmations from the Sister Circle, and Can I Get a Witness: Black Women and Depression.

Boyd has over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy, and is widely-known for her sister circles: supportive group sessions designed to help women experience collective support while achieving a sense of personal empowerment. Julia leads lectures, workshops, and seminars nation- and world-wide for organizations, companies, and groups to assist women in dealing with depression, building self-esteem, and creating healthy relationships.
