Kamilah Aisha Moon (September 5, 1973 – September 24, 2021), a native of Nashville, TN, work has been featured in several journals and anthologies, including Harvard Review, jubilat, Poem-A-Day for the Academy of American Poets, Oxford American, Lumina, Callaloo, Essence, Gathering Ground.  She has taught English and Creative Writing at Medgar Evers College, Drew University and Adelphi University.

A recipient of fellowships to the Cave Canem Foundation, the Prague Summer Writing Institute, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA, and the Vermont Studio Center, Moon was also a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award and the Audre Lorde Award from the Publishing Triangle. Moon holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.  She lived in Brooklyn, NY.
