Dr. Eugene Williams, Sr.
(left) is a well-known public school
and college teacher, author, researcher, and administrator. As the Director of Academic
Enhancement in the Washington, D.C. Public Schools, Dr. Williams implemented a highly
effective test improvement program, which has dramatically increased National Merit and
Achievement finalists in the D.C. Schools. He is a prolific writer and has spoken at
several national conventions. Dr. Williams' work has been featured in Newsweek, The
Washington Post, The Washington Times, and on CNN.
Eugene Williams, Jr. (right) received a B.A. in English from Emory University in 199 1. He is a professional actor, singer, and writer who has appeared on stage, screen, and television with such celebrities as Bill Cosby, Ossie Davis, Ray Charles, Pearl Bailey, and Stephanie Mills. In
1978, he became the first Black child actor in a major, recurring role
on the highly acclaimed CBS soap opera, "Search for Tomorrow." At the age of 12,
he served as a correspondent for "PM Magazine", a nationally syndicated news
program. Eugene is also the co-author of It's A Reading Thing: HeIp Your Child Understand,
an SAT verbal prep guide (for parents) that gained national recognition from Washington
Post columnist, William Raspberry The author of The "Raisin-In-Milk" Syndrome:
Ten Survival Tips for Black Students at Predominantly White Colleges & Universities
and Reflections of a Confused Middle Class Black Youth, he is a much sought after national
motivational speaker. Many of his opinions about black white relations on college campuses
appear in "The Feminist Classroom" by Mary Kay Tetreault and Frinde Maher. He
currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland
and serves as an educational consultant and
verbal SAT instructor in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Dr. Mary H. Johnson operates Success In Learning Math Centers. She holds the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees in Mathematics -- the Doctorate from University of Maryland College Park.
