Nancey Flowers
, a resident and native of Brooklyn, paid tribute to her parents by using their native Jamaica, West Indies, as the setting for "A Fool's Paradise."

Nancey attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she received her bachelor's degree in mass communications with a minor in journalism.

Though she enjoys her work, Nancey's true passion has always been writing. One November evening in 1997, Nancey dug out an outline written three years earlier, and the storyline for "A Fool's Paradise" was spawned.

Nancey is a member of the National Association for Minorities in Cable. NAMIC was founded in 1980 to raise awareness, expand opportunity and shape the future. With its unique focus on the urban cable marketplace, NAMIC educates the industry on marketing approaches, programming interests and operations strategies for our nation's ever-changing cities. Through embracing the challenges of workforce diversity, NAMIC guides industry understanding of this complex issue. She is also a member of Black Women in Publishing and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Her favorite authors include Marita Golden, Bebe Moore Campbell, April Sinclair, Connie Briscoe, E. Lynn Harris, Diane McKinney Whetstone, Richard Wright, Evelyn Palfrey, the late Zora Neale Hurston and James Baldwin.

Felice Jackson is sexy, single and satisfied—or so she claims. She is an affluent, thirty-something entrepreneur who is partial owner of the successful firm Jackson and Jackson Financial Consultants. The only problem is her very active sexual relationship with her ex-husband and business partner, Bedford Jackson.

Felice doesn’t believe in looking through rose-colored lenses. After several years of marriage, she walks in to find her beloved husband with another woman. How could her soul-mate and love of her life betray her? Then she meets Aaron Cane a smart, charming and sexy basketball player. Felice believes Aaron to be the answer to her prayers. The relationship is just what she needs―until she discovers the truth.

Felice’s decision to take an extended trip to Cuba and leave her troubles behind, along with a stack of unresolved and unclaimed issues leaves her free to do what she wants, when she wants, and it doesn’t matter who gets hurt in the interim.

Felice is disgusted with men, but not enough to shut them out of her life physically. However, mentally is another story, because the self-contained electronic force field is Felice’s way of saying she is emotionally unavailable. Felice enjoys the touch, smell, and taste of men too much to deprive herself. Instead she decides to stand at the helm of life and call the shots in relationships. If a man can do it, Felice can too. She wasn’t going to shed another tear for these tired-ass men!

Felice enjoys her no-strings-attached creed. Until her secretive past collides with her present.
