Amber once thought she would have been satisfied with job security as a psychologist, a not-so-saucy marriage, and a life far away from the hicks and sticks she grew up in. But the reality she lived in was far different from the world she dreamed about. Counseling began to feel like a mere management of "other people's problems." Her once hunk-of-a-husband is resolved to a life of beer and basking in the glow of the TV from the sofa.
When Amber meets David, all of a sudden, her life is turned topsy-turvy. With new love on the horizon, Amber jilts her inattentive husband and embarks on a physical and mental journey, with David, destined for happiness. Everything seems perfect until Amber meets Malik. He seems able to see straight through to what is truly in Amber's heart and helps her questions the intentions of those around her. With her bowl half-full again, Amber is back on top. That is, until she discovers a horrible truth under the shining armor of her knights.
What follows is a quagmire of sex and violence that will leave you guessing until the very end. FOXX's brilliant debut places her alongside Kimberla Lawson Roby, Omar Tyree, Evelyn Palfrey, and other writers in the Commercial Fiction and Romance Thriller genres.
