Peggy E. Spiller

Peggy E. Spiller was born in Chicago, but spent the majority of her childhood in the northern Louisiana city of Shreveport. From an early age, she recalls creating characters in her head (for she would never dare tell anyone) and carrying their evolving stories around for years. She'd often fall off to sleep trying to force herself to dream about them. Thus, her first novel, Real Dreams, published in 1998, centers on a young woman's desperate prayer for a beautiful dream to return.

Peggy has had a screenplay optioned and published her sophomore novel entitled, For Every Love That Dies. She earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University and now resides in New Orleans where she divides her time between work as a Project Manager and the small publishing company she owns with her son.

About the book:

Two thirty-something women face dying marriages in this surprisingly not-morbid new novel. Lauren Spellman, petite, poised, practical and quietly beautiful has willingly traded her career aspirations for suburban wifehood. But over the years, her focus has begun a gradual shift. Determined to triumph in the role she's chosen, Lauren won't allow herself to acknowledge it-until it smashes her dead in the face.

Tall, big-boned, impulsive, a former party-girl, Genine Cutley falls prey to whatever looks, smells, tastes and feels good. Her marriage of convenience to a doting, overweight auto shop owner has barely survived its first year. After two previously failed marriages, Genine opted for security, but now her husband's bordering-on-obsessive love and generosity to a fault, forces her to confront the shame and dishonesty that has come with trying to show love where there is none.

The story moves at an exhaustive but amazing pace. Amidst glimpses of tragedy and misfortune, the plot still manages to offer up delightful twists and two tender love stories. Velvety rich in characterization, Lauren and Genine will stay with you long after you've finished the book.

Dr. Everett Watley, has spent the last ten years researching a controversial mind-projection process with the hope of revolutionizing the field of neuroscience and achieving notoriety and fortune. He is called in on the high-profile case of a comatose young woman that has the potential to provide substantiating data for his process and guarantee further funding for his research. But things don't go according to plan. After conventional treatments fail, the patient's health deteriorates. The new process appears to be the patient's only hope of survival. But will it work? Can he save the life of the patient who in many ways represents the fulfillment of all his dreams?
