S. R. “Rudy” Martin, Jr. was a founding faculty member
of The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He taught
American/African American Studies and was an administrator there until he
retired in 1997. His previous major publications are the family memoir On
the Move: A Black Fammily’s Western Saga (2009) and the novel Natural-Born
Proud: A Revery (2010).
