Everyday, violence and danger run rampant on the streets of Southeast, DC, and on one seemingly quiet day, the Odom family finds its world destroyed when the baby girl of the family, seventeen-year-old Tashera is brutally attacked by a group of high school girls.

The attack'borne from jealousy'triggers hate, revenge, and the need for justice in the hearts of everyone in the community.

Tashera, a girl with sparkling qualities ' she's laid back, she keeps to herself, she's intelligent and beautiful, she's the hair stylist of the high school clique, and most importantly, she stays out of people's business ' finds herself trying to rein in her growing anger at being an innocent bystander as she worries about how this event will affect her family.

Sheila Odom, Tashera's mother, has to deal with her secretive past, her one mistake that threatens to come back to life and destroy any and everyone involved on the attack of her daughter.

Khalil, Tashera's brother'a wheelchair bound, former gang member'is willing to become active again in the Deuce Tr's crew in order to send a message.

Ahmed, Tashera's boyfriend'the star basketball player at the high school'must face the realization that his involvement with Tashera might have been the reason behind her attack.

The public school system in the neighborhood must decide how and when does it step in to avoid such violence, and the criminal justice system has to sort out the issues of who's right, who's wrong and if revenge is ever justifiable.

In her novel Retaliation, Yasmin Shiraz exposes the corrupting existence of violence in our communities and the retaliatory measures ' whether right or wrong ' that families go through in order to protect themselves and their children.

"This is my first relationship. What should I do?"

"I don't know who to trust. Which guys can be trusted?"

"My best friend and I like the same guy. Should we remain friends?"

"Has everyone had sex except me? How long should I wait?"

No one defines your life but you.

After publishing her first book, The Blueprint for My Girls, author Yasmin Shiraz conducted workshops with girls across the country. She was flooded with questions the girls had about love, relationships, and intimacy, questions they didn't feel comfortable asking their family and friends. She realized that her role as the "old enough to advise you, young enough to keep it real" big sister could help girls stay grounded as they experienced dating, relationships, and intimacy for the first time. In this book, Yasmin tackles the pressures of dating, breaking up, and friendships -- as well as HIV, pregnancy, and abuse. By sharing her own mistakes Yasmin helps girls answer the tough questions without being preachy.

It's the perfect guide to help young girls decide for themselves what they want from relationships, guys, and love.

It all started with her exclusive interview with the brightest star that the music business has ever seen...

Inspired by her life as a popular magazine publisher and entertainment writer, Yasmin Shiraz tells the could-be love story of journalist Tisha Ariel Nikkole and red-hot rapper Shout.

Tisha is sick of the groupies having all the fun and has decided that she's gonna get a rapper all her own. Shout, the hottest rapper in the country, is her obvious choice. But, with Shout's lust for groupie companionship and easy sex, does he have other plans? Vindictive music executive Jordan Ellis can't keep her mind off Shout and is willing to hurt anyone who comes near him. Add high-powered, short-fused publicist Boom Tillman to the mix and a lesbian prostitute and this book goes places only an industry insider would dare. By the end of this drama someone's on life support but who will it be?

This racy story follows a cast of entertainment executives who will soon discover how access to the right person at the right moment can change the course of the future.
