Black New Yorkers: Booklover hopes to profit from his passion

When Harlemite Troy Johnson launched a website dedicated to Black books nearly eight years ago, it came out of “a passion for Black people,” he said.
Today, Johnson’s African American Literary Book Club (aalbc.com) is a virtual watering hole for Black booklovers and has been called the most popular website dedicated to African-American literature.

Bern Nadette Stanis – Pens Book on Relationships

For you children out there: Bern Nadette played Thelma Evans in Good Times a popular sitcom from the early 70’s, which featured a all Black cast.

I ran into Ms. Stanis at the Capitial BookFest a couple of weekends ago. She was signing her new book “Situations 101″; a book that offers advice on relationships.

I have to tell you the photo below does not do her justice. She looks good and, refreshingly, has a personality to match.
