Celebrate Famous Black Authors

Post slavery writers ignited an explosion of literary exploration of the Black experience. From poetry to non-fiction discussions of the cultural ramifications of being Black in America to evocative novels the African American experience is now fully expressed in writing.

Famous Black authors have done so much to change the mainstream perception of African Americans. It's impossible to ignore the intelligence, passion, and talent expressed by these artists. Unfortunately some people still have a one dimensional view of Black Americans; fine writing opens the door to a world of rich cultural traditions and multi-dimensional characters.
