Ms. Rasbury has organized readings, been a panelist at writing and publishing conferences, and judged artists' applications for grants. She is a member of the New Renaissance Writers Guild and was awarded the DorisJean Austin Fellowship for American American Fiction Writers by the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center in 1995. Angeli Rasbury appeared on "Today in New York" (January 2000) to discuss toys, books and games that promote tolerance of racial and ethnic differences. She holds a B.S. from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Temple University. She practiced criminal defense law as a senior attorney with the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division for more than six years. She has taught high school students various areas of the law through the Law Education and Assistance Program. She is the executive director of the Nkiru Center for Education and Culture. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
