Dream Variation Enterprises is currently seeking submissions for Njozi Magazine, A voice of the Urban Creative Intellectual. Dream Variation wanted to thank all of you who submitted work for the last issue and wanted to extend the invitation to those that did not. Following is a copy of what was sent to many of you previously in regards to Njozi Magazine. If you would like to be published please feel free to submit some of your creative works. We look forward to hearing from you.
Njozi Magazine
Njozi is an urban editorial/arts magazine aimed at providing the urban artist with a medium to display his/her creative expressions. Njozi Magazine is medium where urban artists can articulate themselves, enabling their artistic expressions (voice) to be enjoyed and cherished by the masses. Additionally, Njozi Magazine offers insight into the thoughts, ideas and thus the worldviews of urban artists.
Njozi celebrates urban artists who are carrying on a tradition that has been and will continue to be highly valued. Njozi exemplifies a dedication towards promoting creative/ cultural expressions and will be a prelude to what is yet to come from Dream Variations, its parent company. Njozi departments offer a wide spectrum of creative expressions from urban artists across the country and abroad.
It is important to note that Njozi's sole purpose is not only to entertain, but also to enlighten through thought-provoking articles, engaging poetry, mesmerizing art work and Njozi's secret recipe of cultural infusion. With the help of it contributors, this collage of creativity will show how vital these expressions are to urban populations. We, the editors of Njozi Magazine, hope that people will gravitate towards the creative expressions that exist within urban communities. Njozi Magazine represents us, a people who have vocalized our life experiences through the art we create.
Submission Guidelines
Njozi Magazine is seeking articles that inspire and inform urban peoples with a strong interest in the Arts.
Fiction
Njozi Magazine is seeking fictitious manuscripts to feature in our Black Thought section. Fictitious work should not exceed 900 words and be no less than 250 words. Work should be checked for spelling and grammar.
Nonfiction
Njozi Magazine is seeking non-fictitious work that relates to the Arts to feature in our Urban Commentary section. Work should not exceed 700 words and be no less than 250 words. Work should be checked for spelling and grammar.
Poetry
Njozi Magazine is interested in poetry that represents all styles of the poetic vernacular to feature in our Urban Expression section. More specifically, Njozi Magazine is interested in poetry that reflects subject matter related to urban people, the urban experience and/or urban worldviews.
Visual Art
Njozi Magazine is seeking photography and visual art for our Artistic Mural section. Visual art should be submitted on 8 1/2 X 11 paper or smaller. Flawless photocopies will be accepted.
Events
Promoters interested in having events published should submit a detailed description of event, including venue, time, cost and contact information (i.e. e-mail address, telephone number.)
Submission Criteria
Authors, Artists and photographers retain all rights to works used in this publication. All works submitted to the magazine must be original and unpublished. By submitting works to Njozi Magazine, the author acknowledges that work is not in violation of United States and/or international copyright agreements. Additionally the author acknowledges that legal recourse as a result of copyright infringement and/or plagiarism is the sole responsibility of the author involved, exonerating Dream Variation Enterprises completely.
The editors reserve the right to not publish poetry, prose, editorials, photography, and art that may be offensive to Njozi readers.
Submissions can be submitted in any word-processing program.

5. Short Bio including previous published work information
6. Title of Work

When possible, submissions should be submitted on 3.5 floppy diskette formatted for IBM compatible computers. Diskettes will become the property of Njozi Magazine and will not be returned.
