Although the subheading of Up&Coming Magazine is African-American Short Fiction, the term does not necessarily refer to you as a person or your story's content. Up&Coming Magazine was created as a result of what we consider to be a lack of African-American representation within the literary world as a whole. It is not our intention to limit anyone's creative scope. We want people of color to write what they want to write!
Up&Coming Magazine will hold one time publishing rights to all accepted work. THE AUTHOR MAINTAINS ALL COPYRIGHTS.
Up&Coming Magazine is a modestly paying publication.
Due to the large number of submissions, we only contact accepted stories. A list of writers for the coming issue will be posted online about two months after each deadline.
