Judine Slaughter

In 2000, Judine Slaughter started in the book industry by publishing her daughter’s book No Sweat: Poems From an American Youth because her daughter wanted a book that could be in the library. After that success, in 2022 she published her book of letters titled Clear Skinned. This was not a journey to reach fame and fortune; we simply wanted the joy of having authored a book.

Sticking with the book industry, Judine received her master’s degree in Library and Information Science in 2012. As the Executive Director of the United Black Writers Association, Inc. she continues to edit, teach, and promote printed words. Judine encourages everyone to just write; don’t worry about grammatical errors. There is no book industry if a writer keeps a manuscript in their head.
