Sola Odemuyiwa was born in Newcastle England and brought up in Lagos, Nigeria. She trained at Lagos University and was President of the Lagos University and the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association.
Odemuyiwa is a cardiologist in England and discusses a wide range of issues during consultations with her patients. Writing started as an extension of these encounters and as an alternative to railing at the radio or TV over some injustice. Destiny, free will, fate, the consequences of the accident of birth and race on life chances remain her main themes, all, she hopes, are leavened with humor. Ade, The Flying Paintbrush is her fourth novel, inspired by my late father’s life long battles to protect and retrieve family property from criminals.
