New List! Best-Selling Children’s Books
We’ve Just Added an Additional Category to Our Popular Best Sellers List—Children’s Books!
Over the years, there has always been a great deal of demand for more information about children’s books, and we are very pleased and excited to share it with you. We also plan to provide additional articles and information related to children’s literature.
As an advocate for literacy and Black literature we know that books for children are critical for developing a lifelong interest in reading, learning, and interpreting information. Books that reflect our images help our children understand that they are important and matter.
Black children’s literature helps children of all backgrounds understand and appreciate our culture; it also helps them better understand their own cultures.
Which Children’s Books Mean the Most to You?
We are compiling a list of the 100 most important children’s books. If you would like to contribute to this effort please share any titles you feel are important, in the comments section below. Please include the title, author’s name and description of why you believe the book is important.
The list we are compiling will not be based upon popularity, like a bestsellers list. This list will be a curated list of books, that may even be obscure, but deserve increased attention and a place on every child’s bookshelf.
AALBC.com has always been an advocate for chidlren’s literature and literacy. We share information on the reading rates of our youth, publish information on industry trends, promote events and much more.

We were previously unable to provide more detail on this category of literature as it was simply too labor intensive. One of the immediate benefits of our website redesign is the ability to easily display books in wide variety of ways; our best-selling children’s books list is just one example.
