Strategies

“I have long been a believer in Independent Black Institutions. I think that is the strongest base for Black people in every sector of human achievement. We have to do for self. We can work with others, we can use their vehicles, even their support. But we can rely only upon ourselves, and we must discover and implement the most effective means for doing precisely that. We must begin with experimentation.”
Dr. David Covin, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Blue Nile Press

Dear Reader,

Troy Johnson Wearing Santa HatI sold my first book, on the World Wide Web, in December of 1997. When I sold the book, AALBC.com (then johnsonpcc.com/books) was only an experiment. However, just a few month later, in March of 1998, AALBC.com was no longer an experiment, but a passion.

2017 has been a interesting year for me. There were both professional and personal challenges, but challenges bring opportunities. Indeed, the challenge of complying with Google’s search engine requirements (compliance is mandatory for a site to be discoverable via search) helped make AALBC.com a far better website. As a result, 2017 will be record year for the number of people who have visited the website. AALBC.com visitors also stay on the site longer and read more pages than ever before!

This holiday season enjoy time with family, friends, and the company of a good book (or two). As always, your business and support is the only reason AALBC.com has lasted 20 years and is the only reason it will last another 20.

Peace & Love,
