READ (Real Everyday African American Divas of Kansas City) KC Book Club, is a group of adventurous, educated, and extremely diverse African American Women. Our various backgrounds lead us to pick a variety of books from our great African American Authors. We meet twice a month in either our homes or other places around the city, including restaurants and bookstores, such as Borders and Barnes & Noble. We enjoy discussing the characters of each book, how they may parallel to situations in our own lives, and just sitting around discussing various events that happen in our community or within the United States. We not only get together for our book club discussions. We also attend church, plays, concerts, book signings, explore new restaurants, and support each other during family and community projects.
