We meet once a month, 10 months out of the year with the Summer off. The books that we read must be by an African-American author or have African-American characters. Our club sponsor book readings/signings and we travel to other cities and states to attend readings/signings. We have a annual overnight pajama party to discuss a selected author's entire collection of writings. Our club is open to new members once a year and there are membership dues. Our club also donate reading materials to four local elementary schools and we adopt angels from the angel tree and provide those angels with reading materials.
