Originally we were just a group of friends and co-workers exchanging books and discussing them with one another. After reading several of the same books, we thought it would be a great idea to start a book club. As a result, Shadez of Mocha was born in April 2008. We are a group of 14 educated and strong black women who enjoy reading books of all genres: fiction, non-fiction, drama, romance, motivational, autobiographies, biographies, religion, etc. Mocha meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month at 5pm at a location chosen by the hostess. During that time the previously selected book is reviewed and discussed. The hostess also leads the discussion and reveals her book of choice for the following month. We look forward to planning and organizing numerous Mocha functions (trips, picnics, parties, etc) in the future. Membership is by invitation only.
