Notes

CBC has been formed to make reading more interactive and enjoyable for those who love books and have authors they can't seem to get enough of. Started under the direction of For The People Productions by Mississippi artist/author/radio and television show host C. A. Webb. The group meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Medgar Evers Library (4215 Medgar Evers Blvd.; Jackson, MS) at 6p.m. for an hour discussion of the featured author. Several things sets Conversations apart from other book club organizations. 1) CBC focuses on the authors entire body of work during the hour discussion, and 2) the author is always in the discussion either by conference call or in person! The book club debuted with bestselling author Carl Weber and let it be known that it was going to be a force in the fight against apathy and illiteracy in the state. Authors who have partnered with Conversations Book Club include Mary B. Morrison, Terry E. Hill, Victoria Christopher Murray, Jihad, Travis Hunter, C. Kelly Robinson, Clarence Nero and many others. Membership to CBC is free, and you can be a part of another book club anywhere in the United States and still join.
