"Pro Black" parents who are shocked that their black son/daughter married a White person

Recommended Posts

I was reading a few experiences where Black parents who claim to be pro black express shock and anger that their child decides to marry a white person. They all say the same thing "how could this be? I thought them about black history and took them to multiple museums and surrounded them with exceptional black people".

Teaching you Black child about black history will not make them stay away from white people. Teaching your black child about racism will. Teaching black history to black children and teaching black children about racism will yield 2 different outcomes. If your black child looks at every white person as a racist suspect then you have successfully taught them about racism. If your black child looks at a white person and believes its "not all of them" then you have done a poor job.

@Dr Francis Welsin

I disagree with your rationale.  I think it's wrong to raise racists,

whether you are Black or white.  Why teach your children to hate

another race?

People are going to be attracted to, get down with, and marry

whoever they want.

Personally, I am not attracted to white men and I don't understand

why a Black woman would want to be with one.  Other than money

I don't see what they have to offer.

But Black men probably choose a white woman because those

chicks will do backflips to get the D.  What man wouldn't want a

woman that waits on him all day long.  And we all know that most

Sisters aren't going to do all of that.

Years ago I had a Black friend/co-worker, he was in the military

and he was married to a Korean woman.  I asked him why he

chose her and he said that all the Black women he knew asked

him to give them money to get their hair and nails done.

And then when he went to Korea he met this woman and she

did everything for him including giving him money.  So he

married her.

I didn't care for the idea of him marrying the Korean, but

I understood his reasoning.

People are going to marry the person that suits them, most

people don't choose their spouse based on what their parents

or anyone else thinks about it.

Black people cant be racist. If Black people had the ability to be racist then slavery would have never happened because black people would know what was up when the Euro man came.

Racism doesnt mean hate. Red flag right there

Every AfroAmerican should know the history of slavery and how racism still exists. By design, that knowledge is being white-washed. 😎

Rather how racism is practiced but this thread was about so called pro blacks getting mad at their children marrying white people. Giving your children a history lesson will not stop them from marrying white people. Teaching your children about racism, how its practiced will ensure they wont marry white people

Of course Black people can be racist!

You have Blacks who profess that we are the superior

race.

There are Blacks who hate people of other races.

So why don't Blacks have the ABILITY to be racist?

Do you mean that Blacks don't have the ability to

implement institutional racism against whites?

As to whether slavery would not have happened if

Africans had known in advance what was up, who

knows what people were thinking about back then.

We don't know whether those Africans ever saw

a white person before or if they had any reason

to be suspicious of their intentions.

Slavery has been happening since the beginning

of time and it is still going on RIGHT NOW, some

of it transpiring with people of the same race

enslaving each other.

Racism isn't about thinking of racial superiority and/or hating another race of people.

Racism is having the power to subjugate other races of people.

Africa is a predominantly black continent but they do not control their natural resources or infrastructure.

Black folks cannot be racist because they do not have the desire or power or a system in place to do so.

The system of white supremacy is the true definition of racism as evidenced by the fact that it controls the whole planet. 😎

In a nutshell, this misdirected pushback is not only from the looney bin, it has no basis in rational empirical truth-based facts. Being anti-White will get black America absolutely nowhere. Black Americans have been swimming in the same intellectual quicksand for more than 100 years. You know, PhDs (both real and phony,) just don't seem to generate the yield that they used to. After getting out of undergraduate school, I seem to remember quite a few of them who just couldn't see the real world beyond the theoretical rim and as a result, they literally ended up flipping burgers to make a living for quite a while. Big dupe coming? Oh, and you forgot the apostrophe in 'doesn't'. Yup.

I keep reading lines such as this and it makes me chuckle.

"If Black people had the ability to be racist, Slavery would have never happened?" Really?

Hopefully, you do understand that it was African Blacks who captured and then later sold their brethren to Slave traders.

This is a foolish conversation. I am more concerned with young Black men stalking our inner cities with firearms gunning down each other, passers-by and the occasional child.

That so many Blacks refuse Covid vaccines and decline to wear facemasks seems more worrisome for me.

I think this pandemic's threat to Black health is more important than rehashing a history none of us can change, but only grouse about.

That’s more troubling because it means you’re not fully understanding what you are saying. Why does it matter if you marry a Black, White, Yellow or Red person? What is it that disturbs you? Racism? Who’s experience at you considering yours or the couples? Who’s feelings and relationships are more important? Society’s or the Couple? Are these Shocked parents leaving massive estates?

We need to adhere to some standard of word usage,
especially on a discussion forum.  And even more so

if we are writers and authors.

Could you imagine reading a book where the writer

has made up their own words and definitions; that

would be rather confusing.

It's kind of like having a conversation with someone

who uses words that they don't know the meaning of.

For example, have you ever had a conversation with

a person that did not know the difference between

"perpetrate" and "perpetuate?"  While the two words

sound similar, they have very different meanings.

If each of us defined the meaning of words differently

then we would be unable to communicate effectively,

and that is the reason we have reference sources

such as dictionaries.

The word "RACISM" has a couple of different meanings

which is why I asked OP if she meant INSTITUTIONAL

RACISM, but she seems to be hung up on something

else.

What absolute nonsense.

Whites do not control the entire planet and never have. China is dominant in Asia these days and is slowly, but surely making major inroads into controlling the mineral wealth of Black Africa.

Arab nations control the oil wealth of the Mid East. And Whites are resigned to begging their leaders for help when oil prices rise too high.

It is not so much White Supremacy that put Caucasians on top economically. It was always the inability of Native peoples to coalesce and stay united to confront a common enemy that led to their downfall and conquering.

Believe it or not, White Supremacists are not that smart. It is an undercurrent of constant disunity, disaffection and jealousy which plagues People of Color.

Take a look at this forum. How many members of this forum always attack and malign those who remain committed to Freedom and Liberty by regularly berating those who stand up for truth and dignity? And look at their arguments. They are always generalized whines of bullshit.

And THESE are the folks who have the nerve to criticize Democrats? In favor of who? Racist and bullying Republicans such as Trump?

Their complaints always lump together half truths, falsehoods and dubious claims. But very little of what they post is 100% accurate or can be truly confirmed. It is mostly nonsense and designed to bolster their choice of political champions.

Keeping it very short, I have personally and directly witnessed and observed black people discriminating (personally, physically, socially, financially, economically, employment-based and otherwise) against each other and against other races, ethnicities and the like including Latinos, Arabs, East Asian Indians, Jews, Bermudans, Bahamians, Jamaicans, Indonesians, West Asian Orientals, East & West Block Europeans, Russians, and Brazilians. @nels and @Stefan, I wrote that white supremacy controls the entire planet based on the fact that post WWII, the axis of world power was the United States, Great Britain and Soviet Union.

However, with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, for 30 years and counting, the United States has been recognized as the sole superpower in the world.

The United States still recognizes the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Canada as primary allies in maintaining its power over the planet. All of those countries have one thing in common. 😎

I will assume that you are addressing me, since I am an

open Conservative.

In case you don't know about me, I am the daughter of

a military family, an Army wife of a Vietnam veteran who

served this nation for over fifty years, and I am a retired

Department of the Army civil servant.

I am committed to freedom and liberty, truth and dignity,

because I AM AN AMERICAN PATRIOT!

Freedom and liberty are under attack by a DEMOCRAT

administration that, among other things, is attempting to

force its citizens to take unproven and dangerous vaccines.

A DEMOCRAT administration that violates its citizen's

Constitutional rights by telling us what we can and cannot

say.

We can't call it the Wuhan virus, we can't call it the China

virus, we can't call people illegal aliens, we must refer to

them as non-citizens and on and on.  Our human rights are

being violated and you people are too dumb to know it.

TRUTH and DIGNITY.  Some of you have forgotten what

TRUTH really is.  The TRUTH is that we have a career liar

and plagiarist in the White House.

A plagiarist who had to drop out of the 1988 presidential

campaign because he got caught using other politician's

speeches and writings.  Because he's too dumb to come

up with his own original content.

Biden is a chronic liar who lies about EVERYTHING.

He made a bunch of ridiculous campaign promises that

he didn't even bother to try to fulfill.  He said he would

eradicate COVID.

As we all know, that is not happening.

Biden recently declared that COVID is not a federal issue,

that the states will need to deal with it.

Biden's self-inflicted crises range from Keystone XL

pipeline shutdown to open borders.

Biden's entire family is corrupt.

Biden uses his own son as a shill to conduct all of his shady

business dealings, allowed him to use Air Force Two over

four-hundred times while he was vice president.

Now this stumbling, fumbling, mumbling idiot has caused so

much damage to the nation, people are worried if we can

ever recover.

Second in line to Biden, we have Kamala Harris.  A woman

who is notorious for sleeping her way up the career ladder.

A woman who has proven herself to be incompetent to hold

her position.

Whenever a journalist poses a serious question to her, she

throws her head phony back and belly laughs.

I am sick of it.

I could write a book about this disgusting woman, but I

won't since she's not even worth the bother.

Third in line to succeed presidential office, we have the

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, a woman who has

enriched herself while in office to the tune of hundreds

of millions of dollars.

It has recently been revealed that she and her husband

have utilized the information she received while in office

in order to invest in the stock market.

This is insider trading, it is illegal and in violation of the

Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act

of 2012.

Yet she is the one who attempted to impeach President

Trump on numerous occasions for minor and made-up

infractions, while she herself was engaged in criminal

conduct.

On top of that her own district is a dystopian disaster zone.

Please don't talk to me about anything I post being bullshit

when you and your cohorts are the ones posting a bunch

of crap and lies.

Mzuri,

Props to your parent who served in the Vietnam War.

If you have proof that Kamala Harris slept her way to the top write your book, then. Your tome should be protected by the First Amendment.

Accusing someone of criminal wrongdoing without proof is the domain of rumor mongers. And insider trading is supposed to be a crime. But we both know it is selectively prosecuted, similar to illegal campaign contributions. If you have definitive knowledge that will hold up to legal scrutiny, then you should disclose it to prove your contentions.

Or else, it is just negative phony gossip, the kind Newsmax spews.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I also believe Kamala Harris is a lightweight and was the wrong choice for the country's first woman VP.  I would have preferred Stacey Abrams, who is much logical, thoughtful and a proven campaigner. But Ms. Abrams would have been the butt of fat Black woman jokes. And the resulting vitriol would have distracted from her innate intelligence.

I cannot believe that you claim to be the daughter of a war veteran and yet, support Donald Trump, a draft dodger and someone who likened fallen military personnel to "losers and suckers." Being the daughter of a veteran does not impress me if you support a man whose entire family never served and who maligned those who have.

Trump even hired a Black actor to pose as President Obama to berate and then fire in a fake "Apprentice" video to satiate his obsessive racial hatred of 44. The video never aired at a RNC event. But it is still online. This is a guy so many of you admire? A shallow, hateful and insanely jealous clod? Sheesh.

I may be wrong, but sometimes, I get the notion this discussion group seems to have morphed into a pro-GOP and anti-Black forum. I detect much disdain for those who defend folks facing unceasing assaults because of their glorious ethnic heritage. Diamond and Silk would be proud.

Majority of Black people know exactly what Trump is

We are having this conversation because people won’t step out of the racial paradigm. In African there was no concept of race just peoples. We are participating in 500 years of Cultural fossilization. Out participating here is a reaction to how our society has been formed. It doesn’t make the Earth Flat or the Sun the center of the Universe. It’s more like a harp string that has be plucked and is vibrating back and forth.

Better yet, why don't you re-read your own topic starter.

Black people teaching their children to look at other races

Being shocked and angry when your Black child marries

a white person is another one.

Throwing a party and only inviting your Black friends

is racism.

The state of Texas wasted no time after the last election introducing legislation making it harder for minorities to vote.

Race based obstacles are the reason for voting rights legislation. 😎

I’m “pro Black,” but this is in direct reaction to the country we live in, so is being racist.

I believe the science and reject the notion of multiple human races. That idea was created by so-called White people who began using race to practice racism. Black people can be racist as well. I actually have to work hard at not being racist.

If a kid of mine married someone white I’d have no choice but to support my child and embrace their decision.

i consider it a good thing that my kids are not as racist as i am or was. They never had to be...

That bill failed because it was based on the lie of racial obstacles. What they were really attempting to do is get $6 additional from the federal government for each $1 fund raised. Most people in America who vote realize they are no barriers. If there were how did Raphael Warnock get elected? Why are more Blacks running for Congress?

Bingo that sums up how most productive Black Americans feel. We aren’t in the 90’s. The adjustments needed in our society are not as large as before and we need to focus on building on our progress.

Still waiting for an example.

Responding example taken from 1 occurrence of 7 major occurrences out of more than 32 significant occurrences personally witnessed and observed over 45+ years.

Condensed & Truncated… | This is only a brief summarization.

Case 1 of Many: (U.S.) A black male supervisor at a major financial institution overtly demonstrated hostility toward U.S. blacks ((i.e., not actual) non-mixed black sub-Saharan Africans and their direct descendants, as defined), and others. The supervisor repeatedly disparaged, denigrated, mistreated and more, both U.S. blacks, whites and those of eastern / oriental Asian descent over a period of ~3.5 years. This supervisor explicitly stated on multiple occasions that his targets did not possess the fundamental intelligence, cognitive, analytical and judgmental capabilities (at a minimum,) that were required to execute extremely complex business initiatives, purely and expressly because of his (i.e., the supervisor’s) target’s race. Considering this supervisor’s own (minority-classified) race, in many respects - this seemed to be a rather contradictory position for this supervisor to take. This supervisor’s actions caused great emotional, psychological, physical and economic distress among numerous individuals that were subject to the supervisor’s actions. Said supervisor repeatedly stole, plagiarized and altered proprietary work product(s) that were created by his targets, per the management directives that they acted on. Eventually, the supervisor was exposed, and his actions ended up costing his employer somewhere north of $55 million in an undisclosed confidential arrangement.

Black people can most definitely be racist, particularly in countries and societies where they are the (dominant) majority. Racism applies to people of color and non-people of color as well. It is one of many highly complex and manipulative drivers of discrimination across nearly all segments of both modern and historically classified societies.

The (believe it or not) left-leaning narrative-driven anti-Semitic ADL conveniently defines racism as:

“The marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges white people.”
https://www.adl.org/racism

Through documented practice, the ADL’s stress on “people of color”, appears to be nothing more than a well-obfuscated conspiratorial attempt to further invade and manipulate black minds and behaviors in order to control what blacks hear, see, say, think, do and believe.  In turn, this could and can potentially lead to a level of unbridled subjugation of the black body politic, to a point where the detrimental effects and impacts that are directly attributable to the ADL’s agenda, either are or may become irreversible.

One could easily surmise that only a very extensive and exhaustive deep dive into the role of the liberal Jew in (i.e., as it apples to) the success, failure and misery of black America, can expose the inherent risks of looking at only one side of the racism argument – this, as one approaches the fork in the road and the ‘likely’ undesirable choices that lie along each path.

Oh Wow! I strongly believe that racism is a reality, however, I do not agree with you completely.

I teach my children to embrace their black culture, however I want them to appreciate humanity. I do hope they marry black, though.

Let me make this clear again, I said RACISM not discrimination. RACISM is what im talking about

@Dr Francis Welsin After reading @nels comment, I feel that I am understanding your question better. No, I don't know how to respond to this question completely, but now, I have a better idea of how to better understand.

When I think of 'RACISM', and black Americans, I think of power and money which is a tool used by a racist group in order to control another group. black Americans do not have that kind of status to fully define the concept of racism against a group of non-black people.  But can blacks be racist towards each other?

I'd be interested in learning more about what you mean by "not as large as before". Thank you.

Because of Cultural Fossilization(Social Heredity) many old biases are subconsciously passed on and acted upon. This is why we see different groups holding on to old prejudices. This however is as big as needing to change the legal enforcement of race related laws. @Dr Francis Welsin is merely expressing a black voice supporting the Anti-miscegenation laws or miscegenation laws. Those are laws that enforce racial segregation at the level of marriage and intimate relationships by criminalizing interracial marriage and sometimes also sex between members of different races.

There are also old laws which are on the books that need to revised or removed. Examples are the efforts to eradicate different negative effects with sentencing in criminal cases.

Have you read How To Be An AntiRacist by Kendi X? He addresses the question of can Black People be racist and demonstrates Blacks do have power. It is unrealistic to say President Obama has no power; Oprah has no power; Clarence Thomas has no power and countless other Blacks. It’s like a deflection to keep other blacks from tearing them down because they have power.
