#CopaLibertadores night 8282019

#Flamengo vs #Internacional
Flamengo showed poise side patience , prodding International, not trying to play fully open. Looking to slow the tempo in the game and force the pressure on internacional. It took the 65th minute but Internacional scored on a set piece and the two first half chances that Gabriel Barbossa didn't make the Internacional keeper make a save when it was a one versus one situation created the temperature in the match. At the final whistle, the truth is, Flamengo were excellent in their home game and the tie was won there. Internacional could not afford to let Flamengo score, and under pressure Internacional finally risked and flamengo scored and ended the competition.

GOALS
Rodrigo Lindoso- This is the video assistance review of the goal lindoso made. it took many minutes, circa five. I agree to Gary bailey on beinsports that a time limit must exist to quell the energy drain and momentum drain the time duration caused.

Gabriel Barbossa- Internacional pushed forward, and Bruno henrique was unleashed in a quick counterattack, and bruno henrique on one side, gabriel barbossa on the other, is too fast for the tired, center backs of internacional.

#UEFAChampionsLeague 2019/2020 group stage draw

GROUP A

psg/real madrid/club brugge/galatasaray

Some have suggested that PSG or REal MAdrid are the clear group winners, but I smell weakness in the TUchel guidance to the PSG project. And Real MAdrid's open play allows any team a chance.  If NEymar stays, PSG will top the group. If neymar leaves, PSG will go to the europa league. PSG have serious defensive weakness and still dont have a dominant midfielder. The possible transfer of neymar to Barcelona, will give PSG rakitic but he doesn't have the legs of yore. and, if neymar leave, then cavani or mbappe will be under greater stress to play through their injuries, a hip or thigh in either. That will if anything invite both to more injury. Galatasaray can grab a top two spot in this group. Yes, galatasaray will have to use defense most of the matches against psg or real madrid, utilizing the few scoring chances well.

GROUP B

Bayern Munich/Tottenham hotspur/Olympiakos/Red Star Belgrade

Bayern munich or tottenham have the  top two spot. The europa league spot is a battle between Olympiakos side Red Star Belgrade

GROUP C

Manchester City/SHaktar Donetsk/Dinamo Zagreb/Atalanta

MAnchester city mens or womens keep achieving easier groups in their respective champions leagues. I know most will say it is merely the probability playing itself out but the doubt in my mind come from the fact that manchester city aside pep guardiola side the english premier league have many fiscal investors whose influence is clear in the union of european football associations. Atalanta have a chance to truly show the greatness in their program. In the end, the key isn't what style or system a club uses but ow competitive can they be using a style or system. Atalanta will have a chance to prove themselves. I wish them well.

GROUP D

Juventus/Atletico Madrid/Bayer Leverkusen/Locomotiv moscow

My colcheneros can win this group and I think should. Juventus will be the other team progressing. I know bayer leverkusen, they are best suited for the europa league. The only question is, will locomotiv moscow battle leverkusen. Atleti showed so far in la liga we are ready to defend as a team and attack sharply through a few.

GROUP E

Liverpool/Napoli/Red Bull Salzburg/Genk

Liverpool side Napoli may seem the favorites but last year Liverpool progressed by the group stage on the last game. Red Bull Salzburg is key to Liverpool or Napoli. IF Salzburg are in great form they can take points away from either. The team that gets Genk last is more than likely got the edge in any close point situation

GROUP F

FC BArcelona/BOrussia Dortmund/Inter Milan/Slavia PRague

Barca side Inter Milan go through easy. Dortmund is a hype team, the media treat them better than they are. In the end, a youth team or selling club, no matter how talented one season always has a softness when the schedule becomes dense. I do expect to see dortmund in the europa league.

GROUP G

Zenit St Petersburg/Benfica/Lyon/RB Leipzig

This group is one from the two that are the best to watch groups. I support Olympique Lyonnais but Lyon is a side that relies on youth and some players may still move which will cause more time needed to find balance under first year coach sylvinho. LYon can top this group but it will be a battle in every match of this group for all the teams involved.

GROUP H

Chelsea FC/Ajax/Valencia/Lille

This group is one from the two that are the best to watch groups. I support chelsea football club but our best goal scorer is willian, we are relying on youth. And, the grind between all competitions will test the strong and in my opinion, best set of mature players in the top leagues in UEFA. Gabrielle Amado on sportsburst on beinsports usa on facebook said that every time chelsea face valencia in a uefa champions league group stage, chelsea reach a final. I loved that stat. I Remember when we won, many didn't count chelsea as valuable or worth it then . But the experienced team pulled off a legendary run, under former player then coach , Roberto di Matteo. Chelsea can top this group but every match will be a battle for every team in this group.

#Riverplate vs #Cerro Porteno

The first leg was the decider. River plate scored two goals at home, thus like Intenracional's situation with flamengo, cerro couldn't afford riverplate to score. Riverplate did with Porteno risking.

GOALS

Nicholas de la cruz- this goal ended the tie.

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4zEyEFYJ?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

#CopaSudamericana

#Fluminense vs #Corinthians

Both legs were a joy to watch. Two storied Brazilian clubs over two matches. Corinthians had more sharpness, but not high enough to pile on the goals. Fluminense seemed a side leering near the bottom of the brasil serie a table, but what separate cup play from league play is league play is a marathon run over various distances. while cup play is sprints with distance that must be one to progress.

GOALS

Pedrinho - his goal was the winner. By corinthians not giving up a goal at home, they made it where a draw or win was enough for them to progress.

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4AprpH4q?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

Pablo Dyego- it was  a lovely set piece from Nene. A sad tear for Ganso, former Piexe. Like Gabriel Barbossa, he should had not left Brasil for UEFA. In the end, Fluminense have to focus on the BRasileirao now. Relegation will be devastating for the club. BUT, remember, relegation is always earned, it is not unwarranted.

NEYMAR REMAINS AT PSG

So, PSG gain Navas side ICardi and keep neymar with mbappe/cavani/di maria

Neymar/Cavani/ICardi/Mbappe (bench or rotation: Di Maria for neymar/Choupo Moting for icardi or cavani/Draxler for mbappe)

Bernat/Verratti/Meunier (bench or rotation: Paredes, Sarabia, herrera)

Kimpembe/Thiago Silva/Marquinhos (bench or rotation: kehrer, Kurzawa)

Navas

The rest of the kids slot in as needed. 334 is the system. Forget a back four, place all the weight up at the top. Start Choupo with Cavani up top. Now considering the injuries to Cavani/Mbappe this means PSG should start with

Neymar/Choupo/Icardi/Draxler

Bernat/Verratti/Meunier

Kimpembe/Thiago SIlva/MArquinhos

Navas

334 is the system. PSG have many quality players in the forward space but only three true central defenders and no dominant wide back players. they need to play all their top central defenders, and as wide a forward line as possible. The 334 does this. I hoped Tuchel did this in front of Buffon , playing him mostly, giving areola only a little time, which areola will get in Real MAdrid now. Hopefully these three will be in front of Nava.  PSG's problem is, they have three great central defenders, over four very capable forwards, but disability or weakness or instability in the midfield. The problem is, what is the correct midfield behind such offensive talent, from the midfielders psg have available. PSG dont have a dominant midfielder in their ranks. They have a bunch of midfielders who have weakness that a particular team can exploit or that can expose weakness in a particular opponent. Tuchel's job is to keep the back three, and the back four, but manipulate the midfield three based on the opponent.

LAstly, Neymar will win the UEFA Champions LEague with PSG in 2019/2020

THE ORIGINAL POST

#Neymar time at #PSG - final thoughts

First, money is involved in every move of a big player in every sport. But, if you take money out of it, why did neymar leave FC barcelona for PSG? the answer to me, absent any financial considerations is simple, glory. Neymar wanted to be the player who led psg into winning their first uefa champions league and sequentially, have a god hood status that he could not achieve in Santos, where pele is near unreachable or FC Barcelona where Cruyff or Messi or Iniesta/Xavi/Busquets will be ahead of any transferred player into Barcelona. I thought the gamble would had worked. But in the end, Neymar's tenure at PSG had one enermy, a huge enemy... said enemy is PSG administration.

First, Matuidi was sold to help bring Neymar in. That was the first error by PSG ownership, though not the first temporally. Matuidi was the heart of the PSG midfield. Matuidi was why PSG had that goal advantage going into camp nou that a neymar led barcelona overturned. Verratti/tiago motta plus Rabiot should had been sold to help cover the neymar cost. Prior to Matuidi , was the SErge Aurier dismissal, another administrative mistake, under the laurent blanc era. PSG have not had a better right back than Aurier since they sent aurier away for non footballing reasons. SEquentially, PSG's best midfielder and right back in the past five seasons never got to play with Neymar, let alone Mbappe.

Second, the coaches. Unai Emry side Tomas Tuchel are poor. Emry did win europa leagues at sevilla. Tuchel did make the dortmund youth team look dangerous. Both had no experience whatsoever with a player like Neymar. NEymar is too crafty. Too talented for the workman system Emry employs. And Tuchel is worst, not only does he not know how to set up a team for the counterattack properly, which is the best system for neymar/cavani/mbappe led psg. But the defense for PSG was and is not decent, and he has yet to accept that. Mbappe won the world cup... but les bleus the french flag team did it with a pure counterattacking system from didier deschamps. Cavani won copa america's using the counterattack of the honest or great oscar tabarez. And neymar won the copa libertadores playing the same system CR7 used to lead Real madrid in winning those three uefa champions leagues, which is a counterattack style. Tuchel wants the lines too high and wants too much possession. Laslty, Tuchel wasted the time of Gigi Buffon, one of my favorite goal keepers which i will never forgive him for in my assessments. Gigi buffon should had been the prime keeper for PSG in all competitions for the 2018-2019 season, with a deep bunker counterattack system. Tuchel didn't do it, and then brought in players like Kehrer to play wide back, whose inexperience cost buffon. Many pundits say buffon caused the first blunder but it was kehrer, he wasn't ready and he was brought in by Tuchel.

Third, Zlatan I know this may sound crazy but when you see Messi/Suarez/Griezzman/Neymar all together in FC Barcelona, you have to ask why PSG didn't keep Zlatan. In all earnest, Zlatan/Neymar/Mbappe/Cavani should had been the front four. PSG sold zlatan and gave cavani a year as the main attacking option. In the end, PSG not only made quality reducing transfers in and around the neymar era, not only did PSG hire dysfunctional coaches to the squad at hand in the neymar era, but PSG's ambitions were not equivalent to the glory neymar had in mind.

PSG were not ready to be the club they advertised they wanted to be in the modern era. When you look at their compatriot Manchester City, manchester city essentially have allowed pep guardiola to make a team that suits him, bu it is not a superteam. KDB/Sterling/Aguero they are all very good players, but not honest superstars and that is based on their history. Neymar/Mbappe are true icons. Players who did great things young. Sterling or KDB were players who failed to live up to what chelsea or liverpool needed. That may be harsh, but that is truth.  PSG never use their youth players in the best way barcelona have in the past, while they never pay for a true galacticos squad in the best way real madrid has in the past.

France vs Spain - women friendly

The problem I have with coach corrine is that she has learned nothing from the world cup. She really wants to push the henry/geyoro/Thiney midfield set up. She really likes the idea that france can style its way. But, cascarino is still on the bench, katoto is still not present.

The frech system is not 433. FRance have majri/cascarino/torrent/karchaoui. The correct system is 442 : majri/renard/mbaock/torrent//karchaoui/Geyoro/henry OR Le sommer/Cascarino//Gauvin OR Katoto/Diani  ... Thiney is a great player but Thiney/Le Sommer/HEnry together are too slow. France has a greater possible collective speed that Corrine's setup can not reach. And the midfield control utilizing the three le sommer/thiney/henry is not strong enough to press the defenses from opposing teams deep. Thiney passses from midfield too late or weakly. Thiney is a forward who plays as a midfielder in corrine's system.

Spain need someone who can get the midfield of spain to revolve around her and learn how to press through possession using high passing percentage. It is not easy or intuitive, but if dspain can find that female player, it can work.

Eugenie Le Sommer goal-  spain women are liek spain men, they love to play the passes but technique absent athleticism may still be pretty but is never dangerous.

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4QGguqhk?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

Cascarino goal- an assist from Wendie Renard, was given a card and didnt care, again, majri/karchaoui on one side cascarino/torrent on the other, wendie/mbock center back. the issue is the two central midfielders and the two up top. possibilities exist but you have to do for danger

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4R352Fqx?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

PAris Saint GErmain in France- they played on friday but I heard a pitch pundit say : ""who needs neymar/cavani/mbappe , as PSG defeated  usually second tier Metz. I admit, against MEtz they do not need neymar/cavani/mbappe. bUt what happens against Lille or OL or OM ona good dat or OGC nice on a good day. What will happen against Real MAdrid or Galtasaray? Teams like PSG defeat lesser teams and pundits take that as a sign. The next team I will take about had the same situation. I will say this to the same pundit on call for PSG vs MEtz, he was correct when he said Tuchel looked silly in the match. TUchel complained to the referees like this was a cup final... a cup final that he has never reached at PSG. IT will always bother me that Tuchel got to keep his job after not reaching a single cup final last in 2018-2019.

Manhester United in England - drew against Southampton. My favorite part was the post match when Kyle MArtino said, the results are not good but they are making little improvements. I found that entertaining. When Mourinho was coach kyle martino said, I paraphrase,  mourinho is about wins and he is not winning, he has to go. Now Ole is making little improvements.  Continuing from the end of last season , OLe led MAnchester United is on a losing points streak. Lukaku is gone and scoring for Inter Milan, where in ital they actually play football. Mourinho was fired cause they the team had a bad run of form. But, Ole's current form is just as bad, if not worse cause he had a summer in between his bad run.   The way some pundits have talked about Ole's tenure in Manchester united sickens me. It proves mourinho is correct about top players becoming coaches and how they are defended... outside of the few like Clarence Seedorf or Sam Allardyce.

The following is a stat, MUFC havent kept a clean sheet in the last 19 games

https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/1167781127488245760

My reply to Lianne Sanderson query concerning paul pogba

Last summer did mourinho say mufc need new defenders, did he get them? MUFC defensive backline is poor, valencia is playing back in his native ecuador. The real problem is pogba left a better owned/organized team for a team with more money that is less organized/owned

https://twitter.com/liannesanderson/status/1167816020247138304

Chelsea in England - I said it before and I will say it again. Chelsea is a battling side. Chelsea in the frank lampard coaching era 's highest goal scorer is Willian. Chelsea do not have the athleticism to be a dangerous counterattack to any team. Chelsea don't have the crafty players or a powerful forward to have a high press. The strength of this chelsea is team play, keep fighting, keep battling, every match is a battle, plain or simple. In the second half, Sheffiled proved my point. Scoring two goals absent a reply. Chelsea don't have the squad to relax. My last point is, absent Ngolo Kante, Chelsea will struggle. If lampard is wise, he will put WIllian side Ngolo Kante side Kovacic in the midfield in the future. Let the abraham/pulisic/mount be ahead of them.

Tammy Abraham goal - it is the kind of goal that chelsea is about now, messy, but passionate. the team defends, the team attacks , the team fights

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4OCXCFiO?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

Tammy Abraham second goal-  I worry for sheffield united in the EPL this season. Their defense looks trembling.

https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4OILvQ4F?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime

FC Barcelona in Spain

Osasuna began the match exposing barcelona's poor defense and they ended the match doing the same thing. the truth is the best defense is a great defense, the best offense is a great offense, the best modulation is a great modulation. The goal from every team is to be able to have a great offense or defense while having a great way to switch between either. The barca way is too weighted in attack or attacking , and doesn't have an honest defense.

Olympique Lyonnais in France

It is early, but Sylvinho is truly testing how deep the squad is in terms of rotation and that is a good thing. When the coupes <uefa champions league, de france, de ligue > make the scheudle congested OL will need to rotate and right now, it is clear, we don't have the team to do that well.

Belgian Grand Prix 2019 Opening Lap

The race ended with Charles LeClerc/Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton/Mercedes

Valterie Bottas/Mercedes

Mercedes have an over 100 point lead on ferrari for the constructors championship. And, Verstappen of Red Bulls is above Vettel in third place in the driver standings. Hamilton is first, Bottas is second. And, while Verstappen is only ahead of vettel, vettel is only ahead of LeClerc by a similar margin.

Atletico MAdrid vs Eibar 9-1-2019

PreMatch
For me, it is keping a win streak going, in la liga, every point counts. Atletico madrid to win it all, need a strong win streak that can allow us to win games close at the end of the season. 1-0 wins late in the season need wins now no matter what.

GOALS
Joao Felix goal- the assist and development came from Diego Costa, one of the last true number 9's in the game. He bullied through the tackles.
https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4Zh2qw5n?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime
Vitolo goal- it all started with Gimenez miscommunication with Oblak, but gimenez recovered and LEmar got the ball. He dribbled free from the pressure and switched the point of attack. The first time touch of Lodi was excellent and made it five against three on the run. He found Vitolo and vitolo scored. Vitolo is being used like Yannick Carrasco. He doesn't have yannick's speed or dribble, but Vitolo has a better goal scoring gift.
https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I4ZAvuCcX?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime
Thomas Partey goal- the winner of the match, love the flick to himself that came off the head, then the dribble to himself past a marker and his slot under the keeper. magic as usual when partey scores a goal. three wins to start the season for atleti.

After The Match

Atletico Madrid's players were not communicating with each other enough, in defense/midfield/attack. They got in each other's way, didn't see each other, were not on the same page enough.
The clear absence to me was Savic. Hermoso is a good player, but Savic/Gimenez is the starting center back duo for atleti. Atleti wasn't using their width enough. They tried to force the attack through the Eibar bunker.
I respect Simeone for not starting morata or savic. Like Olympique Lyonnais, who dropped points, coaches have to test their depth early in the season to see where it really resides. How good is it really? Savic/Gimenez is a better duo than Gimenez/Hermoso. Lorente in midfield doesn't perform better than putting Morata up top with costa and Felix dropping under those two with lemar going wide and koke being more central.
But, Atleti still won, a very good sign

Womens soccer

BArclay's FA WSL will be streamed starting this weekend. I am happy for the womens teams but again, it is that very UEFA reality where, england is not the best league. FRance and then germany are the best leagues in the womens game in uefa. But, england's media/advertisement arm is always ahead. So the hype is for this but I will admit, I am not interested in english soccer. I watch chelsea womens/mens when I can but neither league is the best for me. The problem is, just cause a league is better advertised does that make it better? I think people online like england cause their advertising ways opens up the pathways for more money through media. From NB Sports to Lyon Offside, two places I love to learn what is going on in the womens game, both have shown high support for the FA streaming of the fa womens super league. I supported it publicly as well. But, the question is, are france or germany, who have better leagues wrong for not having the fiscal environment or mood to over advertise? I don't think so. I don't mind learning about womens soccer absent a video or stream. Most of the womens soccer in the confederation of African football I know of is second hand. I rarely get to see matches played. I think the culture online to profit making through video or image is so high, it crushes the idea that text is enough. Congratulations to the FA WSL for being streamed around the world, but it doesn't make england better than france or germany. In the same way in the mens game england is not better than italy or spain.

Flag Weeks

Next year the copa america will be in Argentina. To me, that means Brazil side Argentina are preparing for it from now to then. I find pundits lack of desire for the copa america preparation negative. This is interesting. Dani Alves was the creative spark, but in Argentina, Brazil will need more. Copa America used to be more frequently. Just cause UEFA is dysfunctional doesn't mean other confederations have to be, or should be advertised in uefa's zone.

Finland- womens and mens teams equal pay has a problem, finance. free market, pseudo market free capitalism, mercantilism, all require a financial assessment. Finland male or female programs are financially equal. Neither are like in brasil or germany, where brasil's neymar was nearly sold for 300 million while marta, a legend in the womens game, made a few million.
Finland can do it, but the big countries that attract all the attention can not. I do wonder did anyone contact someone from finland football association to gather how they came to this?

دخترآبی - the following graphic from HosseinMahini say it all, when the vietnamese priest put themselves on fire, what was lost in many who spoke or speak on that is the point wasn't that he put himself on fire, but the fires he saw , some not visible, everyday were so hot, the fire he made of his body was nothing. The point is not that someone put their body in flame, it is the flames we do not see that instigate such frustration that lead a person to make their body become the flames we do not see.

#Laliga - if you want to stop the match for homophobic chants, then you need to stop the match for any chants right? Do not tell me, homophobic chants are unacceptable or phenotypically biased chants are unacceptable but then i need to man up if a man calls my sister a whore, ala Zidane's incident. why is one bias accepted in audible but not another? Who decides which biases are allowable from the fans?
Besides the problem of deciding allowable biases or who has that power, the next problem is getting fans to not show bias. The reason why it is a problem is cause it is impossible. Bias or racism can not be battled in La Liga or any sport league. Those issues are bigger than the sport league. Do not tell me, in a stadium you can not call a man a faggot but in your home you can have a kill faggots poster and everything is balanced.
Nathalie Boy de la Tour is correct, stopping the match is not the appropriate solution cause the solution can not be found in sporting organizations. If anything, i need to know who said sporting organizations is a worthy battleground to handle biases in humanity in the first place. Does anyone know who started that lie?

Athletico #Paranaense vs SC #Internacional #CopadoBrasil

PReMatch

the long season in brasil is ending and the copa final is upon us. This is the first leg.

GOALS
Bruno Guimaraes - the brilliant thing in the goal is the speed of the one touch strike, notice it.

After the Match
This tie is not over, PAulo Guerrero will have a chance to add another notch in his legend in porto alegre. I advise all to see that match. Internacional if I am honest seem leggy, the long season has taken some of their more traveled players under its spell. PAranaense's less traveled squad look pumped, BUT, home crowds may be able to stir up extra sharpness. Both teams showed nervousness in the last quater of the match that is troubling for either side. PAranaense can not play wildly open, like real madridm or Inter will punish them eventually. Inter on the other hand have to not rush the game. They played as if they feared needing to preserve a clean sheet while score in the second leg. Maybe that fear will turn out to be warranted, but it shows bad nerves on them. PAranaense do have the advantage, if they score first in the next leg... Internacional will need legendary plays from there captains.

Neymar at PSG 2019/2020

In or around the summer in 2019 I made various statement to Neymar , concerning his tenure at PSG.

https://aalbc.com/tc/blogs/entry/249-richard-murray-thoughts-version-2/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-668

After some thought I arrive at the following system.

334

Di Maria/Icardi/Cavani/Mbappe

Gueye/Neymar/Herrera

Marquinhos/Thiago Silva/Kimpembe

Navas

why this system?

First, PSG have no wide backs. Bernat/Kehrer/Kurzawa are not high quality for one reason or another. Jean Quiel https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003405247213&ref=br_rs stated that PSG reminds him of the Real MAdrid team that went on to win the treble. I concur it is an attack heavy team with proper width but this PSG lack the players like MArcelo or Carvajal. in the wide back role. Sequentially, flip it. Neymar isn't needed to play wide when you have PSG's squad and Verratti is less a creative force than neymar. Place neymar behind four with the two strongest midfielders PSG have to break plays up and defend, them being Gueye side Herrera and you have the midfield workers who will do three key jobs, support the back three, defend neymar, find neymar in midfield allowing him to play the free role.

Second, the forward line. Di Maria side Mbappe like the wide role. NEither is a center forward and neither is a midfielder. ICardi is a goal poacher, he is best when he can play that role and not have to worry about pulling out wide or dropping deep and supporting. In this line, Cavani can play the dropping deep role, which he does brilliantly for uruguay , while di maria side mbappe have the wings for counter attack or crossing. ICardi can stay up top and be the ever dangerous. With neymar behind all four, he will choose the best option. Lastly, the front four will automatically push teams back. When you play a 3 or 2 up top, you need players from midfield to go into the forward line and press. But when you naturally play a front four, the press is automatically on, absent players need to shift positions. PSG's front four are not good at shifting position, outside Cavani.

Third, the backline, Kimpembe/Thiago Silva/MArquinhos are all leaders or captains while honest central defenders. They will need two from the midfield three to support them at times but each are excellent one on one defenders which will cancel many teams. And having so much weight up top, they have the long ball available, not only the short.

Lastly, Navas in the back. Pressing, attacking heavy systems, meaning the strategy side the players, requires a great keeper on the move. Tuschel did not play a proper counterattack for Buffon and Areola is an all around great keeper who is not excellent in any one way. Navas's movement is great. He will cover and with the three in front of him, they will coordinate well.

This system also favors rotation , whether by fatigue or injury.

Bernat/Choupo/Draxler/Sarabia

Paredes/Verratti/Meunier

Diallo/Kurzawa/Kehrer

Rico

Bernat is more an attacking winger than defensive winger. Choupo is a versatile number 9. Draxler has a great shot but needs to be central in the attacking area. Sarabia is more attacking winger who can drop in a job on defendse which will allow Meunier the overlapping he likes to do. VErratti need more ahead of him. PAredes can break up play. Diallo is a proper defender. Kurzawa has lost pace but is a battler and Kehrer is mobile enough to play in a back three. Rico substitute in for the goal keeper.

PSG with a 334 strategy have two squads to play that strategy, thus a system that allows for rotation. The question is, will Tuschel see it? will he allow it? Last season buffon came in for a season and tuschel did not play a pure counterattack. Icardi is in, he is a great goal poacher. But he needs the system. Tuschel has many attacking players in the squad. he has many players who are best on the forward line. The best way to have depth in the team is to use a strategy that is heavy in the forward area.

We shall see...

#Braga vs #PSG 9/12/2019 UEFA Womens Champions League #UEFAWCL #UWCL

BEFORE THE MATCH

I expected PSG to win. In the female game in UEFA, the gulf between the champions of the big countries, meaning France/Germany, to champions of the lesser is physically or tactically visible or delineated. If you watched enough female soccer you will know this very well. But as in the male game, how a big team wins exposes what they are not doing well, which can haunt them later; at the least, it offer no surprise if they fail later.

GOALS

Marie Antoinette Katoto @MarieKatoto circa 7th minute- It was earned by Grace Geyoro who just cut through the Braga defenders with her dribble. The passing from PSG in midfield was not strong for the goal.

Marie Antoinette KAtoto circa 35th minute- It started by a mistake from the Braga keeper. She basically passed it to Diani or Geyoro whom after made a cross that was deflected. Katoto did well to control it and show composure, which the French coach Diacre, seem to think she do not have.

Formiga goal circa 41st minute- It was set piece from DaBritz that found Formiga. Formiga used a masterful touch. But this goal was the first PSG scored based on PSG quality, not Braga error. Formiga is very experienced, the Brazilian living legend is one of those rare true footballers. But, the goal took to long to occur.

Diani @Kady944 goal circa 46th minute- The touches to control the lob from midfield was lovely as well as the chip. Diani proved my position to her as a non-natural goal scorer wrong in this instance, but the proof is against better defensive opposition than Braga.

Katoto circa 62nd minute- She earned a hat trick. Diani side Katoto are so athletic, teams that are not used to two athletically strong attacking forwards are in for a rare problem. It was in the end a free header, but Braga defenders had enough of running after or physically handling KatotoKatoto side Geyoro came off for Huitema side Baltimore, good experience for the less experienced or powerful players.

Jordyn Huitema @JordynHuitema circa 93rd minute – Her first goal, Baltimore did well to offer the chance to assist, which I suggest Huitema take against better opposition; but she took advantage of the tired Braga defenders. The possible one touch goal before was a good sign to the connections, Baltimore to Huitema can have in the future, Baltimore the Diani, Huitema the Katoto.

Huitema second goal circa 94th minute - Her timed run and dummy from a teammate was excellent to set it up, but her poise was nice. She has a nice touch on her. She isn't the fastest or strongest, but she has that goal poacher style, that is great off the bench for PSG. Good depth sign from the parisian powerhouses.

After the match

Katoto started the match with a miscommunication to Geyoro.  PSG was very sloppy in their ball control or coordination to start the match and even after the 7th minute goal. But they took advantage of their individual ability to cut through Braga markers, in most one against one situation, to destabilize and imbalance Braga. Braga's Diana Gomez was stretchered off circa 13th minute with a leg injury.  But she came on three minute later. Braga players to be fair, did not have the athleticism to run past PSG markers;  but they had a passing calm that retained possession in defense. When PSG face a better team in the competition attacking wise, if faced with the same passing in the defensive setup as Braga, PSG will be force to play counterattack, which may favor Geyoro or Katoto;  but it will expose how well PSG can formulate from defensive zone into attacking zone, in this game they did not do well throughout.  In the 27th minute, my point was made, PSG's passing was not convincing. They seemed to bludgeon their way in the attack too often. Diani is not a natural goal scorer, compared to Katoto or Huitema, but is a great foil for one. Thus, why her and Gauvin in les bleus are in each other's way. By halftime, some called the 3-0 lead dominance but I disagree. PSG took advantage of an athletically weaker Braga, who couldn't execute their superior passing game fast or strong enough to punish PSG. But better opposition is in the later stages in this competition and PSG will be cut into if they have the same lack of sharpness in their passing or comprehension to each other. PSG started the second half wanting to control possession, and condensed higher up the pitch, released Diani who showed great class. Morroni I am not convinced can handle Cascarino , important in the Division 1 race in France ,in a battle after her 55th minute mental lapse; she is not fast enough and showed a lack of focus under no pressure with a large goal lead. Chinaza Uchendu came off for Farida Machia. I do not know why Uchendu was upset. PSG have a superior team in support, meaning trainers or financing. PSG also have more athletic or more experienced players than Braga. Braga players have no need to look pissed based on this result. Absent Geyoro or Katoto PSG showed attacking power over a demoralized Braga. Diani came off circa 73rd minute and the big three of PSG Katoto/Diani/Geyoro were all off. Oddly enough, PSG possession wise seemed more capable but Braga's forwards did not stop. Though the Braga collective was not interested in opening up their back. Circa 75th minute, the miss from Nadia Nadim was woeful, yes it was her first touch but on a team like PSG, she must score that slotter. Huitema or Baltimore have to show either can score starting a match. It is not the same thing to come off the bench against a Braga.

Weekend 9-14-2019

Real Madrid vs Levante in Spain
When Casemiro doesn't play, the real madrid midfield is significantly weak, as well as the defense. In the first half, Zidane utilized experience, champions league winning core. Then in the second half he took off casemiro and Sergio Ramos, substituting in Hazard side the young brazilian defender. Zidane will rotate but rotated players must prove themselves. Zidane will not allow bench players to take senior spots if they don't earn it. Real Madrid survived but the rotated players must become sharper when asked to deliver.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs FC Koln in Germany
Koln is a fighting team. Plea from OGCNice was hacked many a time in this match. Eventually he stopped fighting. And the match became as some will say alot of huffing and puffing. But, Gladbach eventually won.
Alassane Plea- it was a team goal, but Plea did well to finish it off

Paris Saint Germain vs Strasbourg in France
Tuchel started navas/dagba, thiago silva, Diallo, kurzawa/ gueye, verrati/sarabia, neymar, di maria/ choupo moting
The back four is no good at PSG. Dagba on one side and Kurzawa on the other. And Verratti instantly showed he is in the way. Neymar is very creative and Verratti does not move. What is it with PSG and Verratti? Verratti playing with Neymar centrally is a waste. Verratti is not iniesta or busquets or xavi. He doesn't move like iniesta at his best, break up play like busquets at his best or pass like xavi at his best. Verratti was in Neymar's way, why can't Tuchel place another attacker on? I repeat TUchel is the problem at PSG. By the 60th minute I saw nothing from PSG in terms of cohesiveness. The system Tuchel applied is not fitting the players.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Sociedad in spain
It seems the loseless streak had to come to an end. Two deflected goals came through. The first was deflected off a defender past oblak.  In the second goal, the ball hit off Oblak's face , that caused the concussion.
By the end of the game, Oblak/Felix/Morata were not in the side. Three players that are starters but the season is long, i hope atleti could keep the the point earning streak till the face off against barcelona or real.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton in England
Tammy Abraham scored three. I am very happy but I suggest caution, the real test to a player is against the best. Abraham will show whether he can carry the London Blue home.

The following is from prior in the week
Galatasaray vs Kasimpasa in Turkey - Falcao scoring for Galatapalace on Friday, the only goal in the match. Falcao is a great player, but like icardi need a team to deliver opportunities.

The fate to #Ansu #Fati of #FCB #Barcelona #Barca

I made a statement to the following question on Sports Burst on Beinsports USA in Facebook: where will Ansu Fati play in spain or guinea bissau?

My statement was: I hope fati play for guinea bissau , i comprehend having lived in spain he may decide for spain but , the guinea bissau team will teach him about leadership and how to be on a team where the talent is not as great around you.

Mike Fuentes replied to me:  You know he will never make a World Cup on that team. He’s gonna play for Spain just for that opportunity and i don’t blame him

I replied back: well, world cup slots are enlarging. Nine slots by 2026. Think on that. Under the current system that is eight winners from sixteen pairs and one team at the top of the best of the rest, making nine. Ghana/nigeria/egypt/algeria/south africa/senegal/tunisia/cameroon/morrocco/algeria/ivory coast/congo/ and some others fit the eight pair. Guinea Bissau can make the top of the rest with a star diamond player. The expansion of the world cup slots changes a lot for CAF/AFC in terms of who can qualify. like with the women's world cup enlarging and poor Thailand. Under older or the current format, I concur to you.  But under the new, I think Guinea Bissau with a diamond player has a chance and moreover, if he can get Guinea Bissau to one world cup as an automatic starter, he will be bigger than Weah in Liberia and can be great for his post playing career. ... it is his choice in the end. but I think the gamble is worth it. I wonder what gary bailey thinks?

Post Abuse- Eniola ALuko @EniAlu made an article in @guardian_sport , stating her case for legal action needing movement after racial abuse online or on the pitch. She used examples from herself or players like Romelu lukaku as well as Millwall's recent fines in comparison. To make her case that clubs need another system, a harsher one, in comparison to how match fixing or financial fair play penalizes clubs in a visibly modulating way. To that end she used Chelsea football clubs transfer ban and how chelsea, in my opinion for now, has brought in many former players and has played their developed youth that led to a level of success.
I quote her: "Deterrents can change culture. Just look at Chelsea, where a transfer ban has transformed the club into one where a young English manager is appointed to help young English players such as Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, who wouldn’t have had a sniff otherwise, find a path to the first team. The club have been forced to reassess how they work; they have brought in Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, Jody Morris and Claude Makelele, a group of people who used to play for the club, and completely changed how they go about their business. That’s what rules do in the game."
SHe didn't say the following , in terms of bluntness, but it is her message. Changing the culture in fans or clubs to be react harsher to negative bias toward anyone will be financially or culturally abusive to clubs or fans. Like a transfer ban it will not be something gentle toward finances or fans.
I will say her argument miss one key point about the beautiful game, that will make said penalties harder. Futebol is a global game and the financial or cultural penalties legally plausible in some uefa countries have: no legal foundation or support in most countries in or outside UEFA like in her ancestral Nigeria.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2019/2020 9/17/2019

My predictions

inter 3 slavia 0 slavia is weak

lyon 1 zenit 1 pure battle , test for sylvinho

chelsea 0 valcencia 2 and i support chelsea but their youth can catch them

red bull 4 genk 1 genk is weak

napoli 0 liverpool 0 pure battle

Ajax 1 Lille 2 battle but lille is better

Benfica 2 Leipzig 2 battle

dortmund 0 FC Barcelona 3 from fati

The Results

inter 1 slavia prague 1

lyon 1 zenit 1

Chelsea 0 Valencia 1

red bull 6 genk 1

napoli 2 liverpool 0

ajax 3 lille 0

benfica 1 leipzig 2

dortmund 0 barcelona 0

In Comparison

Slavia Prague, whom I rarely see, pulled an Italian job on Inter Milan. Inter Milan was not sharp.

I called Lyon/Zenit correct. Lyon is a battling team; at their best they break even.

Valencia proved me correct that Chelsea's youth will come into play. Oh, Pulisic is a shirt seller, not a top player.

I knew little Genk would get hammered, but not so bad.

I didn't show courage, but I was worried that Liverpool's speed will cut through Napoli, but Koulibaly read the entire Liverpool team.

Ajax showed me Lille is not prepared for UEFA champions league play.

Leipzig won but it was a battle.

I thought Barcelona through even a benched Messi will win but the youth of Dortmund is electric early season. Dortmund will crumble later on.

In conclusion

I got Olympique Lyonnais and Chelsea correct. Lyon do everything well but nothing fabulously. On our day, Le Gones can defeat any team, but usually we are a battling side.

Chelsea have electric youth but in the UEFA Champions league you tend to face very experienced teams and many players from Chelsea who are starting are young or inexperienced. Valencia on the other hand have been through some tough battles to sharpen their resolve.

A fun day in the UEFA champions league as always

Matches

Inter Milan/ Slavia PRague

I did not see this match in completion but the extra time of eight minutes was an onslaught from Inter.

GOALS

Nicolo Barella goal, a smartly placed ball. The set piece that started it off was saved by the crossbar, so Inter gained Fortuna's grace.

Ondřej Kolář saved a header from close range. Lukaku did well to reach the ball which was ahead of him but Kolar's save was priceless. Slavia need the point to get into the Europa league at least.

Napoli/Liverpool

Koulibaly was magnificent by the 30th minute, absent what happened in the match. I don't know how many passes he intercepted but they were many.

The referee in this match let handballs against Liverpool go. Two by my count by the 25th minute. I thought the new rules said handball, automatically gives the ball to the opposing team.

 The results

 Clubbe Brugge-Galatasaray 0-0

Olympiacos-Tottenham 2-2

Bayer-Lokomotive Moscow 1-2

PSG-Real Madrid 3-0

Bayern-Crvena zvezda 3-0

Atletico MAdrid- Juventus 2-2

Shaktar Donetsk-MCFC 0-3

Dinamo Zagreb-Atalanta 4-0

 In comparison

Clubbe Brugge-Galatasaray Galatasaray are unbalanced continuing the early season trend. But Fatih Tarim has time to work on this squad. I mentioned to Jean Quiel that, if Galatasaray can find their balance before Real Madrid and Clubbe Brugge play against Real Madrid like they did against Galatasaray and Real Madrid are still imbalanced absent Marcelo. I agree to him that Real Madrid can be the bottom of the group. Jean Quiel https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003405247213&ref=br_rs

Olympiacos-Tottenham I was correct, a draw happened but by more goals.

Bayer-Lokomotive Moscow the Russians, choochoo-ed Bayer. I do not get to see the Russian premier league. But a good day for Lokomotive. Will be interesting to see if they progress in the competition.

PSG-Real Madrid Neymar and Mbappe was laughing at halftime. No not at my prediction but something else. Neymar can see gold at the end of the tunnel. Eric KRakauer from Beinsports said that PSG finally have depth. But the key was replacements for me. I never comprehended why PSG let matuidi go and kept verratti/thiago motta/Rabiot. But they did.  But in Gueye PSG finally have a proper midfielder to support their many attackers, aside players like herrera. KRakauer https://twitter.com/EricKrakauer/status/1174425434005692416

Bayern-Crvena zvezda I was correct, but Bayern one up-ed the score.

Atletico MAdrid- Juventus This pre-final final was another great battle but hope atleti can defeat juventus in turin. Atleti need Morata healthy. The trident of Felix//Costa/Morata is what my colcheneros need.

Shaktar Donetsk-MCFC MCFC clearly was thinking about shaktar in england over the weekend. The absence to vincent kompany in the squad is telling to. Vincent could rally the guys to fight on multiple fronts, and David Silva leaving in January is another change. MCFC is going through a phase. Guardiola said three years is the maximum time at a club, but we shall see.

Dinamo Zagreb-Atalanta Atalanta as the players admitted is trying to stay up in the italian serie a.

In conclusion

The group stage is still early. too early to start writing death sentences or predicting high drama. Some teams proved that they are putting a little more in the UEFACL than their league race, to be more energetic and not get caught in late group stage theatrics, which tend to rub off on domestic championship races. The surprises from Napoli/Locomotive/Slavia Prague prove that some teams have run a good set of form while their balance has weakness.

Athletico #Paranaense vs SC #Internacional #CopadoBrasil leg 2 #athleticoPR #SCInternacional

PReMatch

Paranaense has the advantage. But it is only one goal. A goal for Internacional in their home ground may give an energy to Internacional that will blow away a hurricane between the nations of intent.

GOALS

LEo Cittadini- it was the setup to the goal that made it happen. Counterattack speed like a hurricane.

Nicolas Lopez - a very scrappy goal. Many headers in the box and then it gets crossed high and an Internacional player tries to strike bouncing the ball off the ground but it flicks up and a header is hit off the cross bar and then the ball finds Lopez, who knocks it in the back of the net. Wild!

Rony goal- Marcelo Cirino made the goal with hold up play side dribbling skills making me recall the great Ronaldo Phenomenon

After the Match

The hurricanes had a speed that internacional never truly dealt with in the first leg and in the second leg, they played the counter, as I predicted as is wise. Paulo Guerrero just didn't have the magic today, but it has been a long season in Brazil.

Parabens Paranaense, Huracao!!!! I am happy for them as they are not a historic power in brazil and they have a way of going about their affairs other than the majors. Some say, Brazil need to allow private clubs but futebol leagues outside the usa are competitive base, simply manage or operate better and you will succeed over those who do not. PAranaense shows the way, others are free to follow.

SC Corinthians vs Independiente del Valle  #CopaSudamericana Semifinal round 1 #Timao #independiente #delValle

Pre-Match

Corinthians have a lot on their plate. IF they want to be in next seasons edition of the Copa Libertadores, they need to gain points now, or they can maintain or slip under the copa sudamericana places. Independiente Del Valle I am not knowledgeable decently. But for them to get this far in this tournament, they earned it.

GOALS

Var check before Gabriel Torres goal- this took too long as always. Again, accepting human error is a cost-effective way to keep the beautiful game beautiful and keep away the silly NFL or statian notions

Gabriel Torres goal - clearly on side, great reaction

Gabriel Torres goal 2 - the pass to him was measured, patient, respectful, lovely guidance

Jorge Pinos , goalkeeper of Independiente dribbles- enjoy:)

After the Match

Independiente could had scored more. A second leg is coming but it will be in Ecuador at elevation. Timao looked legged at normal height, they may not have it in them to score two unanswered closer to the sky at the end of the brasilian season. We shall see.

The health of female players- I quote Rabeeta Farooque @offsidebeet : "Women's football generates less revenue from ticketing and sponsorship, and that means lower salaries. Whatever. But when you're injured, medical costs are the same regardless of gender. Docs don't charge women less just because they earn less revenue. ... I get that small clubs don't have the money to assume the financial liability of a player injured long term. But then those clubs shouldn't be pro. A professional club's minimum standards need to include care of seriously injured players. Kicking them out is not a solution. ... How messed up is that? A player tears her ACL while playing for a pro club, who then terminates her contract because she'll be out too long. Clubs should remain semi-pro if they can't provide medical protection. Otherwise, there's too much risk for female players."
I quote Suzanne Wrack, from the article Rabeeta referenced: "Except surely there is an argument to say that, if a club cannot support even the most basic of insurance policies for its players, then its viability as a functioning and sustainable club in a professional or semi-professional league should be more thoroughly questioned?"

The problem is the meeting between media or communal demand for professionalism in the women's game equal to men SIDE the lack of sponsorships, tickets sales or revenue in the women's game.

Rabeeta or Wrack make a true point, if gender is equal and men have a standard called professional then a women's team cannot be professional if the standard the men have is not being met by that women's club.

The problem is beyond England or western UEFA, never forget the men's or women's game is global. How many female players are being given such promises on investment, now or in the future? I pay attention, watch when i can on replay, the Nigerian women's premier league. I cannot believe Nigerian women are given or will be given labor protections for after an injury. Globally the labor provisions Rabeeta or Wrack suggest, correctly, need to be for women if they are standard for men is just not going to happen on professional teams till the tickets and the sponsors are able to pay for them.

Until then only if an owner, like Aulas for Olympique Lyonnais, choose to pay these costs from their own coiffeurs will they happen. And, in most of the world, which is far larger than UEFA, post injury labor protections or costs preparations will not happen. To be honest, that doesn't happen in the men's game either, around most of the globe.

#America vs Club #Leon -Futbol #MExicano #Femenino Primera Division #LigaMXfemenil

Before the match

I never watched a Mexican first tier woman's match before today. So, I am not as familiar to all the players. But over time I will be. This league started three seasons ago in 2017. The one question in my mind is over time, how will this league compare to the national women's soccer league in the usa.

Anyway, like in the mens game, soccer in mexico is split between two seasons in one calendar year, a format I wish more leagues will adopt. This is the apertura or opening season. Monterrey top the table by one point, with Pachuca right under them.

This is round eleven in a thirty-six-round tournament, it is round robin. It is funny, how this league has more teams than the NWSL.

Now to the match, America is ninth while Leon is fifteenth. By table position the advantage is in America, and America need to win to get into the playoffs.

GOALS

Introduction to players

Club America attempt

Club Leon Attempt

End of match and highlights- they didn't put the America keepers save in it, it was the play of the game, fingertips.

 After the Match

Espinoza in America had a free header in the box and she had time to actually adjust her position and get her head behind the ball. Her error was trying to guide it. With the space or time, she had, she needed to get behind that ball and blast the header in. Even if the keeper touches it more than likely it will go through.

Seeing these teams remind me to female soccer in spain or italy. Alot of these players are used to watching latin football, from latin football homes, so they are used to tactics/technique as part of the game, more than athleticism. The problem is, even with great collective strategy or segmented tactics or individual skill, you need a level from athleticism to make it go. And, a focus is not on their running. Either America or LEon's running, while not the fastest I saw in the womens game, is not the issue. The issue is the passing. Too often, I saw passes that were just not strong enough to get the ball where it needs to be.

The player Valera made two great tackles by the 45th minute.

After halftime, circa 49:38 Espinoza has to reach that, another free header, harder than the one before the half. But you have to reach that.

54th minute, the America keeper saved the blushes of her team. Don't know which Leon player made the header, but it was a wonderful save.

I give both teams credit, some players were in it for the long haul.

FC #Juarez vs #Pumas Femenil- Futbol #MExicano #Femenino Primera Division

Before the match

Juarez is eighteenth in the table and Pumas is twelfth. It may seem a simple win, but Pumas must win to get into the playoff. A six-point gap already exist between Pumas and the team in eight position. Luckily for now, relegation nor promotion exists in this league, thus Juarez have no fears but long term, their organization must do better.

GOALS

Introduction to teams

Jessica Vazquez goal- the implosion by PUMAS after two Juarez players cut through them was telling. Pumas have been getting a lot of coaching towards defense and the team does not believe in their collective defensive posture.

Celeste Vidal stop- PUMAS caught Juarez imbalanced in defense and the low cross was correct, but Vidal, great name right, stopped the strike.

Silvia Machuca recovery- she lost the ball, caught at her fingertips, but she recovered before the PUMAS player could pounce

Natalia Macías Valadez- the crossbar denied her but she beat Machuca

Karen Loya- like Vidal she stopped a sure goal, using her body, good sign from a captain, led by example

Laura Herrera side Daniela García - performed a lovely one two. Herrera skipping through markers and then finding Garcia who feinted and slipped the ball to Garcia. Garcia defeated Machuca but as before, the post is Machuca's friend.

End match highlights- I was hoping for the last play of the game where Pumas's keeper was caught out, trying to assist in a set piece, but the Juarez player's strike was blocked by a UMAS player.

After the Match

Juarez was louder than Azteca with Club America playing earlier. Juarez is at the bottom of the table but by this performance, they clearly have the ability to rise and if they play sharply, they can climb. They are not an explosive side. After the goal, they played an Italian job on PUMAS. Defensively, I was impressed by Juarez ability in the first half, but the second half came. Around the 70th minute Pumas started to raise the tempo and Juarez looked gassed, especially in defense. Machuca was beaten two times, but the bar saved Juarez. The media kept showing the female head coach of PUMAS, but that wasn't necessary. Her team played better in the second half. To be honest, UNAM or Pumas misses explain their position. I am not suggesting Juarez was bunkered into a hole, but Juarez seemed less sharp in attack, almost looking as a team to withstand this.
