  2. I believe it will take a miracle in the form of a catastrophic event or natural disaster to solve the problems between humans. I doubt that we'll be around to see it happen. In the meantime, for those who still have the energy, we can discuss and debate and offer solutions to anything including lost causes. The record could survive the wreckage of such an event or disaster in the form of our digital footprint. That record could help a future generation. Hopefully they will already be on code in terms of taking care of each other. At best, the record will be unnecessary but they'll know we were thinking about being better humans.
  3. Today
  4. @ProfD Carry on with your mission. l will remind you that I divorced the "black race" and don't share your passion for lost causes. But miracles do happen. Hopefully one will materialize before Nature takes its course and the "Afro-American" element of this country's population dissolves into the mainstream. I wish you well in the gesture you are making.
  5. @aka Contrarian, asking for legislation Liberals have passed specifically for Black folks (AfroAmericans) is legitimate and not intended as a smoke screen. I provided the example of the anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill. There are bills specifically for the alphabet soup community covering hate, gender neutrality and marriage. There are bills that allow the children of illegal immigrants to stay in the US. There are no bills or laws on the books that specifically provide AfroAmericans with reparations or anything I've listed. Diehard Liberal loyalists don't want to hold them accountable for anything. It doesn't matter that they haven't produced tangibles specifically for Black folks. To be clear, Conservatives haven't provided Black folks with anything. They don't pretend or pander to us either. I'm not bad mouthing either group. Merely stating facts as it relates to the tangibles I listed above. Dr. John Henrik Clarke brilliantly stated that as Black folks "we have no friends". In that regard, it doesn't make any sense for AfroAmericans to reach out to any other group of people to support us. Brown and yellow and other Black people are trying to assimilate into the fabric of whiteness. They just want to be here and tap into whatever goodies, guarantees and giveaways this country provides. No other group of people have a claim to stake in the US as it relates to the original sin of slavery. Native Americans have their own claims to stake. Taking the reservation deal put them in a box. That is their business to unpack. I don't look at it as a crusade or leading a movement. I've laid out what I think would begin to pay the debt that America owes to AfroAmericans. Realistically, I'm aware that reparations is a nearly impossible lift for two reasons: 1) Old AfroAmericans have given up. They took the bait of Civil Rights and affirmative action as compensation. 2) History is being whitewashed in such a way that the current and future generations of AfroAmericans will be left to settle for the status quo. Thankfully, I'm very fortunate that I personally don't need anything from Liberals or Conservatives. That won't stop me from calling balls and strikes as I see them. It would be irresponsible of me to stay silent and not fulfill my duty as an AfroAmerican spokesman.
  6. @ProfDI don't have to iist any black legislation Dems Liberals have passed because that's your smoke screen, not mine and - I'm not on a crusade. All that really needs be done in that area is to enforce the laws that are already in place. Organizing a movemrnt to promote your reparations "wish list" should be your priority instead of bad mouthing Liberals, a tactic that accomplishes nothing but, as is the case with you diehards, you keep doing the same :thing over and over, expecting different results And lotsa luck in forming a coalition with Hispanics that calls for these newly empowered Amigos to jump aboard the black reparations band wagon. A good slogan for your reparations campaign would be: "IN A PERFECT WORLD" . Adios.

To understand why, we need to take a trip through the past. Drug use has been prevalent in American society since the mid 1880s, when narcotics like morphine and laudanum were marketed to consumers as cure-all medications. They could be found in all types of products, ranging from asthma medications to teething syrup for infants. Opium, imported from China, was also regularly prescribed as a painkiller. Yet as the 1900s dawned, presidential administrations started to adopt a restrictive approach toward the recreational use of various drugs. For instance, the Smoking Opium Exclusion Act of 1909 — which targeted Chinese immigrants — banned the importation and use of opium for smoking, while in 1914, Congress passed the Harrison Act, which taxed the production and distribution of cocaine and various opiates. Even the medical use of drugs began to be highly regulated. By 1938, more than 25,000 American doctors had been arraigned due to the illegal prescription of drugs. In the 1960s, medicinal and recreational drug use in the United States started to become a major security issue. A rise in the countercultural movement for recreational drug use led to fears of a drug epidemic, despite surveys finding drug consumption was relatively rare: a 1969 Gallup poll found that 48 percent of respondents believed drug use was a “serious problem” in their communities, but the same survey revealed only 4 percent of American adults had tried cannabis. Richard Nixon exploited these fears among socially conservative voters and, as a result, was elected president in 1968. His policies capitalized on public concern about high rates of drug use among American troops returning from Vietnam. Heroin use in particular was prominent. As a result, in 1970 Congress passed the Controlled Substances Act, which created five schedules within which to regulate different drugs based primarily on risk of addiction. The following year, in June 1971, Nixon officially declared a War on Drugs, telling Congress that drug addiction had become “a national emergency” and that drug abuse was now “public enemy number one.” Following this announcement, drug use officially became a criminal issue, and Nixon began proposing strict measures for drug-related crimes, including mandatory minimum sentences for both drug possession and distribution. Two years later, his administration founded the Drug Enforcement Agency, a special police force designed to target illegal drug use and smuggling in the United States. https://civilrights.org/blog/americas-war-on-drugs-50-years-later/ Racism and the war on drugs: The story of Reefer Madness Ethan Nadelmann: The War on Drugs is Racist | Big Think THE CIA-CONTRA-CRACK COCAINE CONTROVERSY: A REVIEW OF THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S INVESTIGATIONS AND PROSECUTIONS Chapter I: Introduction A. The San Jose Mercury News Articles On August 18, 1996, the San Jose Mercury News published the first installment of a three-part series of articles concerning crack cocaine, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the Nicaraguan Contra army. The introduction to the first installment of the series read: The three-day series of articles, entitled "Dark Alliance: The Story Behind the Crack Explosion," told the story of a Los Angeles drug operation run by Ricky Donnell Ross, described sympathetically as "a disillusioned 19-year-old . . . who, at the dawn of the 1980s, found himself adrift on the streets of South-Central Los Angeles." The Dark Alliance series recounted how Ross began peddling small quantities of cocaine in the early 1980s and rapidly grew into one of the largest cocaine dealers in southern California until he was convicted of federal drug trafficking charges in March 1996. The series claimed that Ross' rise in the drug world was made possible by Oscar Danilo Blandon and Norwin Meneses, two individuals with ties to the Fuerza Democratica Nicaraguense (FDN), one group comprising the Nicaraguan Contras. Blandon and Meneses reportedly sold tons of cocaine to Ross, who in turn converted it to crack and sold it in the black communities of South Central Los Angeles. Blandon and Meneses were said to have used their drug trafficking profits to help fund the Contra army's war effort https://oig.justice.gov/sites/default/files/archive/special/9712/ch01p1.htm
  8. France isn't fooling anybody with that BS excuse. Only reason France reinvesting in their military is to crush opposition in their colonized countries. I saw this move coming down the pike when Niger asked the French to leave last year.
  9. @aka Contrarian, I notice you didn't list any legislation Liberals have passed specifically for Black folks. The reparations package would be expansive enough to cover several things but to name a few: Free healthcare Free higher education Zero interest housing loans Zero iinterest business loans Land Stock Repeal unfair sentencing guidelines Repeal laws that disproportionately affect Black folks As two sides of the same coin, both political parties have handed out the similar patronage jobs and other crumbs to Black folks. Conservatives had Condie Rice, Colin Powell, JC Watts, Ben Carson, Clarence Thomas and others. I'm not affiliated with either party so I do not parrot their party lines. I call balls and strikes as I've seen them over the past several decades.
  10. Yesterday
  11. @ProfDWhat specific legislation do you want passed besides the one for reparations? The hundreds of patronage jobs handed out are the payback for the black vote. And I was speaking of the Democratic Congressional House Speaker, Hakeem Jeffries, not a black caucus member. Black Liberal politicos who themselves benefit from the black vote do look out for their constiuents. That's why they get reelected. Yet, like a spokesman for the Republican Party, you parrot its line, in denial about grass root reality.
  12. Yes.....Only because I wish to give @Pioneer1 the benefit of the doubt and the chance to prove me wrong. Afterall he seems genuine and well meaning....
  13. France will boost military spending by more than one-third in the coming years, President Emmanuel Macron said, as he unveiled ambitions to transform the French army to deal with the great “perils” of this century. Acknowledging the end of the “peace dividend” of the post-Cold War era, Macron said on Friday the planned 2024-2030 budget would adapt the military to the possibility of high-intensity conflicts, made all the more urgent since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine almost 11 months ago. The spending spree is needed to ensure “our freedom, our security, our prosperity, our place in the world”, said Macron. The budget for the period will stand at 413 billion euros ($447bn), up from 295 billion euros ($320bn) in 2019-2025, which means by 2030 France’s military budget would have doubled since he took power in 2017. “As war is changing France has and will have armies ready for the perils of the century,” said Macron, speaking at the Mont-de-Marsan airbase in southwestern France. “We need to be one war ahead.” The money would notably go to modernising France’s nuclear arsenal. “Nuclear deterrence is an element that makes France different from other countries in Europe. We see anew, in analysing the war in Ukraine, its vital importance,” he said. France will invest massively in drones and military intelligence, areas where French officials have said recent conflicts exposed gaps, and the military should pivot towards a strategy of high-intensity conflict. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/1/20/macron-boosts-french-military-spending-by-over-a-third Africa and Latin America countries should be recolonized by US – Blackwater founder Erik Prince BE PREPARED! France's General Lecointre has announced a military recolonization of Africa by France President Emmanuel Macron has said the era of French interference in Africa was “well over” as he began a four-nation tour of the continent to renew frayed ties. Anti-French sentiment has run high in some former African colonies as the continent has become a renewed diplomatic battleground, with Russian and Chinese influence growing in the region. Macron said France harboured no desire to return to past policies of interfering in Africa before an environment summit in Gabon, the first leg of his trip. “The age of Francafrique is well over,” Macron said in remarks to the French community in the capital Libreville, referring to France’s post-colonisation strategy of supporting authoritarian leaders to defend its interests. “Sometimes, I get the feeling that mindsets haven’t moved along as much as we have, when I read, hear and see people ascribing intentions to France that it doesn’t have,” he added. “Francafrique” is a favourite target of pan-Africanists, who have said that after the wave of decolonisation in 1960, France propped up dictators in its former colonies in exchange for access to resources and military bases. Macron and his predecessors, notably Francois Hollande, have previously declared that the policy is dead and that France has no intention of meddling in sovereign affairs. Military revamp Macron on Monday said there would be a “noticeable reduction” in France’s troop presence in Africa “in the coming months” and a greater focus on training and equipping allied countries’ forces. France has in the past year withdrawn troops from former colonies Mali, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic (CAR). The pullout from Mali and Burkina Faso, where its soldiers were supporting the Sahel nations to battle a long-running armed rebellion, came on the back of a wave of local hostility. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/3/2/macron-says-era-of-french-interference-in-africa-is-over
  14. @Troy I do troy but I don't recall any mention of graphic novels in the video so I fugre the video si just for the video character, thus culture section.
  15. @nels, the Conservatives consist of millions of racists. No way in h8ll they would do anything to help Black folks. @aka Contrarian, I'm not diminishing the fact that Black folks have been elected to and/or chosen to serve in positions of power. That's great from an individual perspective. My contention is that even Black folks in the highest positions do not individually or even collectively wield enough power to overcome any aspect of the system of racism white supremacy. The VP has admitted she wouldn't do anything specifically to help Black folks. She has been reduced to a POTUS side-piece and empty talking head. Liberals used her to secure the Black vote. The Congressional Black Caucus hasn't produced any legislation specifically to help Black folks. But, they sign the anti-Black bills. In the meantime, one Asian congresswoman could introduce an anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill which they all signed. Liberals haven't produced anything tangible for Black folks. Yet, they pander to us when it's time get elected.
  16. @ProfD You are fixated on using reparations as a yard stick and employing a selective criteria that lacks perspective while invoking what has become become the patented black narrative. You choose to diminish the fact that a black man served 2 terms as POTUS and Liberal Democtats helped elect him. The liberal Democratic administration currently has a black female VP even if she, like everyone who holds this office, wields little power. There are also black males holding the offices of Conressional minority leader and Secretary of Defense, black females holding the positions of Supreme Justice Court Justice and white house press secretary. Black democrat-appointed Judges and district attorneys and democrat mayors all over the country. And it's not as if Federal grants and funds are not pouring into urban areas. But it can never be enough for the critics who are reluctant to place blame where it belongs. Hispanics are the largest minority population and they are more monolithic than Blacks, not to mention the Latino nationalities of the migrants. In reply to nels' question, the answer is "NO".
  17. How would you know that? Rule: Don't debate irrational circular arguments. Good luck and have a nice weekend.
  18. Please feel free to list legislation Liberals have passed specifically to help Black folks. Democratic POTUS Lyndon Johnson was a tall order racist. Even he referred to the Civil Rights Act as the "nigger bill". IMO, Black folks have made progress in America by default just like white women. Black progress in America did not come from loyalty to Liberals. Definitely not through policies specifically for us. Liberals haven't put forth any bills to adress reparations. They did come up with a 1994 Crime bill leading to mass incarceration of Black folks. Gee thanks. Look no further than the current administration. Black folks helped put POTUS PJB in the White House. Billions of dollars in foreign aid flying outta here as we type. Yet, there's no line item for reparations in any bills. Liberals pander to Black folks during election cycles and leave them high and dry once elected. It's been the same sh8t for 50 years and counting.
  19. Novocain Can Lead to Divorce Court! This Video Short-skit I found to be hilarious! So I thought I would share it for a little humor today. I don't know what I would do if I were in this situation. I wonder how angry would a Brother get if he heard this kind of revelation from his girlfriend or wife at the dentist office. And if I heard this kind of talk , well when the phone messages came into play, that would be obvious to me that was truth serum. Careful Who You Take With You To Your Dental Appointment
  20. Hi Chevdove! Glad you stopped by. Always good to hear from you!
  21. @ProfD To state that black folks haven't gotten anything out of their loyalty to Liberals is to say that they haven't made any progress from the way things used to be, and that isn't true. Unless your idea of progress is a total take over of the country by its black.minority
  22. FOR REAL! But I was pressed to learn about this a few years ago as it is being pushed and forced on the school kids. That's interesting. Never thought of it in this way. But it does. I think this movement is to drown out the cries of African Americans by saying that Homosexuals are discriminated against too, so therefore, you don't deserve Reparations anymore than they do. This government is trying to ignore chattel slavery and its awful affects on us. Absolutely true.
  23. I actually believe that the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse was more spectacular than this one of 2024. I saw them both as a partial eclipse where I was located. I saw the 2017 eclipse when I was in Florida and unlike this one, it became kind of dark, the street lights came on and the birds became confused and started chirping. NEVERTHELESS I think that this Total Solar eclipse that moved across North America and reached totality in certain areas was very significant for several reasons. I think that it is very significant because it occurred around the time of the Vernal equinox in April which is an ancient leap month every three years for some ancient civilizations. But more importantly, I think that the comet, Pons Brooks that also moved through our solar system and has positioned itself close to our sun during this time is very interesting. Like the recent ZTF comet it is also a green comet. And this time I got a better pair of binoculars! Unlike mostly all scientist of this western world, I do not believe in what they profess in that this comet and most of them do not affect our planet earth. I believe that is very misleading! As soon as this comet came close to our planet, the volcano in Iceland erupted again and without warning. Experts did not for-see this eruption that occurred weeks ago. Two days ago, on APRIL 17, their was a major earthquake in Japan and a volcano eruption in Northern Indonesia of which the volcano erupted at least four times. And this comet is moving and will its closest to the sun on April 21! It seems to get energized from the sun. The sun is like a fuel station so-to-speak. It will be its closest to our earth on June 2, 2024. So, many may believe it is a coincidence, but i believe the ancient priest-scientist in that some comets do affect our earth. Also, the Lyrid meteor shower is occurring right now and will peak April 22 at around the same time this comet will get the closest to the sun. Additionally, on April 21, there will be a large planetary alignment. But last year this meteor shower and another one was more brilliant as it was radiating. Finally, and although this seems to be a secret, ancient scriptures say that this week was actually the Feast of Tabernacles and the time of the birth of Christ. So wehn you are driving at night, you might see seveal houses lit up with Christmas lights. There is so much more amazing facts about the Pons Brooks comettoo, that I hope to learn about and share. Right now, it is located in the Constellation Taurus and rises and is position low in the sky on the celestial equator and is not too far from the planet Jupiter. This is so fascinating to me! Last year, scientist saw this comet around February 2023 and knew that it would arrive in our inner solar system at this time. It came from some where in the outer space and moved past the ancient planets and now it is about 240,000,000 miles from our sun. That means it is much closer than Jupiter. Because it exploded and expanded, it is now visible with the naked eye and looks like any star. However, it looks like a comet with a tail in binoculars and it looks like an elongated green jewel in the night sky.
  24. True. Especially as it relates to politics. Black folks haven't gotten anything out of loyalty to Liberals. Black folks wouldn't fare any better as Conservatives. If Black folks do not come up with an agenda/interests pretty d8mn quick to which politicians can be held accountable, once supplanted by other groups of people, Black votes will really become an exercise in futility by 2040 if not sooner.
  25. I'm late getting this page because I've been on duty stargazing! @ProfD
