  1. Past hour
  2. Hi Chevdove! Glad you stopped by. Always good to hear from you!
  3. @ProfD To state that black folks haven't gotten anything out of their loyalty to Liberals is to say that they haven't made any progress from the way things used to be, and that isn't true. Unless your idea of progress is a total take over of the country by its black.minority
  4. FOR REAL! But I was pressed to learn about this a few years ago as it is being pushed and forced on the school kids. That's interesting. Never thought of it in this way. But it does. I think this movement is to drown out the cries of African Americans by saying that Homosexuals are discriminated against too, so therefore, you don't deserve Reparations anymore than they do. This government is trying to ignore chattel slavery and its awful affects on us. Absolutely true.
  5. I actually believe that the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse was more spectacular than this one of 2024. I saw them both as a partial eclipse where I was located. I saw the 2017 eclipse when I was in Florida and unlike this one, it became kind of dark, the street lights came on and the birds became confused and started chirping. NEVERTHELESS I think that this Total Solar eclipse that moved across North America and reached totality in certain areas was very significant for several reasons. I think that it is very significant because it occurred around the time of the Vernal equinox in April which is an ancient leap month every three years for some ancient civilizations. But more importantly, I think that the comet, Pons Brooks that also moved through our solar system and has positioned itself close to our sun during this time is very interesting. Like the recent ZTF comet it is also a green comet. And this time I got a better pair of binoculars! Unlike mostly all scientist of this western world, I do not believe in what they profess in that this comet and most of them do not affect our planet earth. I believe that is very misleading! As soon as this comet came close to our planet, the volcano in Iceland erupted again and without warning. Experts did not for-see this eruption that occurred weeks ago. Two days ago, on APRIL 17, their was a major earthquake in Japan and a volcano eruption in Northern Indonesia of which the volcano erupted at least four times. And this comet is moving and will its closest to the sun on April 21! It seems to get energized from the sun. The sun is like a fuel station so-to-speak. It will be its closest to our earth on June 2, 2024. So, many may believe it is a coincidence, but i believe the ancient priest-scientist in that some comets do affect our earth. Also, the Lyrid meteor shower is occurring right now and will peak April 22 at around the same time this comet will get the closest to the sun. Additionally, on April 21, there will be a large planetary alignment. But last year this meteor shower and another one was more brilliant as it was radiating. Finally, and although this seems to be a secret, ancient scriptures say that this week was actually the Feast of Tabernacles and the time of the birth of Christ. So wehn you are driving at night, you might see seveal houses lit up with Christmas lights. There is so much more amazing facts about the Pons Brooks comettoo, that I hope to learn about and share. Right now, it is located in the Constellation Taurus and rises and is position low in the sky on the celestial equator and is not too far from the planet Jupiter. This is so fascinating to me! Last year, scientist saw this comet around February 2023 and knew that it would arrive in our inner solar system at this time. It came from some where in the outer space and moved past the ancient planets and now it is about 240,000,000 miles from our sun. That means it is much closer than Jupiter. Because it exploded and expanded, it is now visible with the naked eye and looks like any star. However, it looks like a comet with a tail in binoculars and it looks like an elongated green jewel in the night sky.
  6. Today
  7. True. Especially as it relates to politics. Black folks haven't gotten anything out of loyalty to Liberals. Black folks wouldn't fare any better as Conservatives. If Black folks do not come up with an agenda/interests pretty d8mn quick to which politicians can be held accountable, once supplanted by other groups of people, Black votes will really become an exercise in futility by 2040 if not sooner.
  8. I'm late getting this page because I've been on duty stargazing! @ProfD
  9. My pleasure @Troy This book is one of the best books I've ever come across! I am totally in awe at the talent of this author and the illustrator.
  10. Yep. I am procrastinating! Right now, I am lacking confidence in starting some of my goals and I am trying to get the confidence. But again though, I believe that life goes on in another dimension so, I also believe like the artist Desiree sings, I am 'living for tomorrow not today'. I don't really care about getting older because I still feel young in spirit. I don't like the aches and pains of being older but strive to be healthier. I love to dance and always imagine myself on some dance floor...
  11. Same here @Troy. I'm always tuned into @aka Contrarian as well as other regulars here too. I am hoping to slow down and lounge here longer but I'm so busy right now. I see @Mel Hopkins has commented here and love to read her too and others as well. It's so good to hear the opinions of the men in this community but aka Contrarian seems to hit the spot! Even when she is 'contrary', nevertheless, she nails it for me.
  12. "Nappy Dugout!" Is that the same as a "waxed hideaway"? Since I no longer have anything to lose by putting men down, I will confirm my suspicions that they are not really the stronger sex.
  13. @nels go back to sleep, Tiger, Tiger, - or Leopard, Leopard. Nobody takes me seriously. I'm just hangin' around here, bidin' my time. Buenos Noches.
  14. Yes. Always lingering in my thoughts when exposed to the intensity of Palestenian partisans excoriating those who don't support their cause, is that none of this would be happening if Palestinian terrorists hadn't disturbed that Israeli hornet's nest! In addition to all the many other things in this world that pet my peeve, are people who call themselves "woke". (And, keep all remarks about petting my peeve to yourself)
  15. Seriously? ? Not exactly following your response, which doesn't seem (that) clear to me. One thing is likely more than certain, Black America appears destined to be permanently supplanted by others much sooner than it thinks and neither white Americans or conservatives for that matter can be blamed for the inevitable. The following may be just the tip of a very big iceberg. Chicago Citizens Confront Mayor Brandon Johnson About Proposal To Spend $70 Million More On Migrants https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WlQ-bToa7c
  16. Seems to me that, dating back to the 1960s, Whites in general, and Conservatives, in particular, have relied on quotes by MLK and Malcolm X to shut Blacks down. All these "wolves in sheeps' clothing" needed to do when trying to placate or mute Blacks, was to tailor the words of Malcolm and MLK to bolster their arguments, and negroes would back off. In reality, neither of these 2 black sacro-sanct icons were infallible or right about everything, and time has taken the sheen off of some of the ideas they embraced. MLK was wrong about integration being the key to racial harmony, and Malcolm was duped by Elijah Muhammad and bamboozled by the Black Muslim version of Islam. Yet, to this day such manipulation continues and few Blacks opt to challenge any quotations attributed to Brother Malcolm or the Reverend Martin King and brought to their attention by those with ulterior motives. These 2 black leaders both lost their lives in the ongoing struggle that continues to this day. But their words live on and continue to haunt us. Seems to me.
  17. you don’t consider graphic novels, literature? A day or two later, I did put it in the culture section but only because I wanted people to see the video.
  18. https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/18/us/nypd-disperses-pro-palestinian-protest-columbia-university/index.html Hundreds of students at Columbia University are protesting the war in Gaza which they have a right to do. Yet, NYPD has been called today. The police have shown up up in riot gear and with buses ready to arrest the protestors. Israel is milking the October 7th Hamas attack against them. They are using that attack as justification to destroy Palestinians and claim Gaza. Apparently, Jews also have enough power to override free speech in the US. Terrorism laws are being used to arrest protestors supporting Israeli opposition. The US is already spending billions of dollars in taxpayer money to finance these conflicts around the world. Right now, a $95 billion dollar package providing additional funds and weapons to Israel and Ukraine and Indo-Pacific support is making its way through Congress. POTUS is ready to sign it on arrival. I'm glad most AfroAmericans remain neutral in these conflicts. Not our fight or issue. However, we should be taking notes. Intel could be used as receipts in the future.
  19. Why is this in the literature sections? shouldn't it be in the culture section?
  20. Yesterday
  21. There are public and private sector jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities as well. It really comes down to the knowledge, skills and abilities of the individual and their willingness to relocate and hustle. Plenty folks have already left NYC for greener pastures south of it. I'd be kinda surprised if former NYers haven't sent kites back to the city spreading the word that places like DC, Charlotte, ATL and Houston are popping.
  22. @Troy I see. You and I have different definitions to the word mecca. And that is why I said the following https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/10751-these-black-mayors-arent-powerless/?do=findComment&comment=66656 I quote myself that depends on how you define a mecca but thank you Troy I comprehend in this group I have made a devastating error. For too long I use words in my own way but don't add adjectives explaining these are my definitions. And so it invites others who definitions are different to then come with their definitions but their definitions don't match mine and this our dialog's positions don't align. Based on your definition of mecca you are correct troy. Yes, but not based on my definition. And we both are keeping our won definitions so we each are correct plus incorrect. I will state how I define mecca. A mecca to me isn't a place that draws people. Any place draws people. I call that a condition of any place as a gathering spot. I define a mecca as a place that has intrinsic value to a race of people regardless to if they are drawn to it physically. I base my definition on the role of Mecca to the muslim heritage which is the source of the word. Muslims pray towards mecca, they honor mecca regardless of being able to go to mecca. It is not a gathering spot. it is a revered place to Muslims regardless of whether they go to it or not. Harlem by my definition of Mecca is not a mecca and NYC is not a white mecca. Again, Troy you plus others , not me plus others, define race as phenotype. Based on your definition of race I speak incorrectly or dysfunctionally. based on my definition of race I speak correctly or functionally. The following is my definition of the word race which are from my parents, my first teachers, plus the books I learned about words from. The word race does not mean phenotype. Phenotype means appearance. Race means a characteristic similarity, it can be any characteristic; it can be gender [male/female/hermaphrodite] , clan[your last name] , language [anglo/laltino/sino] , geographic [african/european/asian], religion [ christian/buddhist/muslim/vodun], nativity [ indigenous/immigrant/migrant], and yes phenotype[black, white, mullato, arab, mestizo, dark, light ] and based on my definition of the word race, all humans have a set of racial labels based on their characteristics. So I am a black male anglo harlemite , four different races : phenotype/gender/language/geography . I have more but I said this for explanatory purposes. Now I am not asking anyone else to use words as I use them or define words as I use them but I will continue to use definitions of words in a manner I find most correct. @ProfD can you describe the better financial opportunities south of NYC? I want to tell black people offline about them
  23. You just now getting around to asking that question @frankster?
  24. I was in a rush and using a laptop that was being uncooperative.. Yes and you did..... That is the same one that Racist poster provided a while back!? Make me question where you are getting your info. Guilty as charge.... It was fun diving into Muslim holy script..... hadn't done it in a while. Did not want you to go away with the wrong impression...That the Hadith only said Muhammad was white - Racist love to leave you with that idea. Was hoping you would also give me the opportunity to go into the Hindu scriptures as well...last time I was trying to prove it was the cause of colorism/shadeism in India. Now it seems I am on the other side of the fence but not really. It did come as a welcome surprise to see you quoting scripture Yeah....I get that a lot and there is some truth in that. Don't we all?? I am Going with a Brown Man - of African Arabian descent. It matters to me And I love it when you bring evidence to back up your assertions....and you must expect me to do the same.
  25. Malcolm X understood that both the fox and the wolf were running around in the same forest. Liberals (Democrats) and conservatives (Republicans) are two sides of the same coin. Neither party is interested in doimg much of anything for AfroAmericans.
  26. Last week
  27. frankster My "turn"??? You asked me to provide you with Hadith that said Prophet Muhammad was a White man. I did. Instead of it satisfying you, you ran around the internet digging up multiple and often contradictory Hadith that claims Muhammad was Black, Brown, AND White..lol. Which pretty much supports my position of why I don't f' with religion anyway. There is too much contradiction and confusion in most organized religions for them to supposedly "come from God". But you can choose whichever Hadith you like or supports your belief. If you want to believe Muhammad was a Black man, a Brown man, or even a White man....be my guest. Because not just in this particular case, but now that I look back over the years......it appears that around here.....it doesn't matter too much whether I'm right or not; nor does it matter how much evidence I bring to prove my assertions.

  29. Ever since I was a kid, I found it interesting that Black folks didn't see anything *wrong* with that sh8t. Imagine a 7-year-old boy running telling grown-ups they were stupid for trying to sell him on Santa Claus and them believing in that white man on the picture. Of course, that resulted in a few azz whuppings for me but I wasn't broken.
