	026-CRLiterature-BlackHistory337-1346548011CONTENT#BlackHistory337 is abou
t the time between Black History Months\, when many people including some
Black people don't make an effort to emphasize Black History. A way to cov
er the rest of the year\, the remaining 337 days between each 28.Juneteent
h represents the first major event for Black people in the USA. The reason
it isn't independence day or the colonies or states is because during all
those times Black people were enslaved to Whites. Whites enslaved Blacks
in the lands that became the USA and during the USA itself\, as a law of t
he land\, from 1492 to 1865. So for Black people in the U.S.A. the birth o
f the USA didn't change the condition of Black people. Most of the Black p
eople who fought for the independence of the colonies from the english emp
ire were enslaved to whites in the usa after said independence. But\, the
end of the War Between The States\, commonly called The Civil War \, did r
epresent a true change for Black people as legal enslavement\, which was l
egal in the english colonies or the usa itself\, became illegal for the fi
rst time.Lift Every Voice And Sing's lyrics was written by James Weldon Jo
hnson while the musical accompaniment was made by his brother J. Rosamond
Johnson in 1905.Lift every voice and sing\,\n'Til earth and heaven ring\,\

rod\,\nBitter the chastening rod\,\nFelt in the days when hope unborn had
died\;\nYet with a steady beat\,\nHave not our weary feet\nCome to the pla
ce for which our fathers sighed?\nWe have come\, over a way that with tear
s has been watered\,\nWe have come\, treading our path through the blood o
f the slaughtered\,\nOut from the gloomy past\,\n'Til now we stand at last
\nWhere the white gleam of our bright star is cast.\n\nGod of our weary ye

way\;\nThou who has by Thy might\nLed us into the light\,\nKeep us forever
in the path\, we pray.\nLest our feet stray from the places\, our God\, w
here we met Thee\,\nLest our hearts\, drunk with the wine of the world\, w
