DESCRIPTION:I said the following initially 06212026A Father's Day Solsti
ceI love my father. And while I will not tell a personal story\, for those
are for me to know and enjoy [ though I admit I have written many things
about my father or mother in my work]. When I think of my father and why m
y mother loves him so much\, it is a line from the film\, First Knight\, w
hen Guinevere was asked why she loved Arthur\, her answer simulated what m
y mother said about my father. It is the way he wields power so gently.Thin
king of my parents fathers\, I can see why my father has his natural tempe
rament\, besides the temperament he was raised to have. When I think of my
parents fathers I can see where I get my own natural temperament \, and I
am thankful for my father's specific guidance on the temperament of a mal
e.Thinking of my parents parents fathers\, I only know of half of them. Th
e fiscal poverty of black people from the late eighteen hundred or early n
ineteen hundreds has a role to play in their exposure to modernity. But fr
om what I can gather\, the half of my parents parents fathers I don't know
were Black men who worked all their lives \, living with the financial le
gacy of enslavement to Non Blacks \, in an environment controlled by non b
lack people infatuated with making black life challenging. To the half of
my parents parents fathers I know of\, they each had a more financially fo
rtunate stock\, oddly based on non Black patronage \, what I tend to call
the Black one percent. And for those who may know\, those whose spirits fly
free are never gone for we have the gift of memory\, where we can feel th
e past \, in the present\, whenever we want.I searched my public gallery f
or father's day and father work. I think an artist with years of work in t
heir public gallery should be able to highlight any artwork for any occasi
on. I choose the following two works as most representing Father's for fat
her's day. Tell me what you think. I have them below if you don't want to

working bulky electronic equipment including: a battery series for electr
ic power in a bookshelf\, a view screen atop a book cart\, a set of signal
readers in a former 1940's grand radio\, a pulse receiver housed in a for
mer grandfather clock. The other side of the room has a dusty bed\, chair\
, table\, mini bookshelf with books\, three boxes each with a bucket. The
room is split by worn dusters and mops. Afternoon light from an oculus abo
ve shine in between the electronics. A chime from the signal machinery in
the grandfather click housing emit every minute.(The signal chime activate
. Five minutes later steps are heard coming up stairs. The attic door is k
	nocked until broken in. Enter Father\, wearing boots\, a backpack\, a helm
et. He aims a gun as he enters\, the side with the bed. He aims under the
bed\, falls hard and emits a flashlight to check under the bed. Sharpley g
ets up and surveys the room\, walking to the opposing side\, checks the oc
ulus\, walks back to the point of entry. Eases the gun. Makes a bird call.
Lighter steps than before are heard coming up steps. Enter Sweetie. She w
ears a helmet\, backpack\, boots. She is breathing heavily. )FatherPutdown

weetie exit\, Father check the buckets opening their lids\, and make a fou
l gesture. He open the lids of the boxes and while audibly muted makes a g
rand positive physical gesture. He checks the mini book shelf and takes ou
t a book\, perusing it for a minute. He goes to the electronics and ponder
s a moment then goes to the bed and takes off the dusty covers. He hears S
weetie carrying materials up the stairs. Lights Dim to Black)Scene 2(Light

(sifting book) ok.. March fourth\, three thousand and four hundred and sev
enty two\, (asking Sweetie) how many old Earth years was that from now?Swe
etieSix hundred and fifty fiveFatherVery good... ok... I find today is mor
e than sad. My wife moved on. We spent so much time and effort restoring a
nd improving this Dawanga Observatory System. The barn\, grafting cleaning
cells onto the sensory equipment\, finding old housing for the tools. We
were happy on Earth while most in the solar system live or left for the ri
ches of the solar edge. I sent out a message to the twins. They loved thei
r mother so. By the time I get a reply I may be dead to. I am glad she got
to know they reached the rim safe. If I find myself too ill I will lock t
he door and climb out the oculus\, the rest will self sustain... (father t
urn a page) March fifthSweetie(interject) Poppa\, what is a Dawanga Observ
atory System?FatherWell\, many many\, years ago\, humans found out what it
seems all lifeforms that naturally are unsatisfied in existence find out.
Existence rotates around an axis and the pole star to said axis is what h
umans call Dawanga.SweetieExistence is everything in the panuniversal flui
d whose universal count can be determined by the Dessalines function.Fathe
rAnd how many exist right now?SweetieSeven thousand four hundred and twent
y two.FatherGood and the constant in that equation was determined based on
studying Dawanga.SweetieIs it a star?FatherNo even though it acts as a po
le star. Some will tell you it is the constant undetermined that exist bey
ond the stable panuniversal fluid while in the ever changing indeterminabl
e fluid\, I prefer the everlasting one.SweetieHas anyone been to the edge
to try and travel to itFather(laugh) We all ask that question around your
age and... some have. Archeologist discovered ruins where those in our uni
verse \, when it was near the rim of the fluids tried it.SweetieWhat happe
ned?FatherBed timeSweetie(smiling) No!FatherYes! We can wake up fresh tomo
rrow. We drifted a long long way. I want a regular rest for you\, we may h
ave found a home and no more hardships.Sweetiereally?!FatherYes and I will
add studying Dawanga to your educational journeySweetie(Cuddling\, and ya
wns \, eyes closed) Dawanga\, I will reach youFatherDawanga is always ther
	e\, no worries(Lights Dim to Black)Scene 2SettingAttic has no dust. Door i
s open. Grandfather clock isn't covered\, still chiming per minute. Fresh
photos are on the wall: space ship\, alien female model\, equation. A new
bed\, fluffy pillows plus mattress.(Lights on. Steps are heard walking up
stairs. Enter Sweetie\, grown \, jeans and shirt. She has grey hair. She c
arries some bags. She place bags aside the bed. Stretches. She notices the
Dawanga chime and approach it.)SweetieHey Poppa\, Dawanga is still there.

GHEST STRIKERHENDA JR AND THE HIGHEST STRIKER CONTENTTitle: Henda jr. and
the Highest StrikerThe congregation from the First African Baptist church
of Ozawissippi is heading back to their church after singing some spiritua
	ls alongside the Mississippi\, remembering their ancestors\, near or far\;
now each pocket has their own gossip. A big tall copper skinned man\, all
muscular\, hold the arm of a silver haired woman.\"How are you doin Mama?
\"\"You know I love the Sun\, oh your father\"The mother and son giggle. A
man with a bandana walk by and say:\" John saved us all\, bless him\"Vari
ous others in the congregation utter positive remembrances like: Bro John
is with us\, Brer Henry be bless'd\, no man was better than John\, Henda c

get to their church and they all go their ways.Henda jr plus Mama Fehene w
ith Jojo\, Cousin Elijah\, and his wife everyone call Sweetpie notice a ve
ry very tall device on the road home and they go to it\; it is surrounded
by various folk and a peddler. A white man in an all-white suit\, shoes\,
gloves\, with white hair but seemingly young chant: \"We are only in the l
ate morning good people. The challenge remains the same. A penny for an at
tempt on the Highest Striker! If you can hit the bell\, way up there\, you
will get all the pennies I have collected from others along the Mississip
pi. Come one come all.\"Henda jr. and company watch a round woman\, a man
who use a walking stick to walk\, a seven-year-old girl try the Highest St
riker\, but none can hit the lever and make the puck reach the bell\, as m
ore contestants come forth. Jojo speak to the company: \"I heard of this g
uy. Little Mo of the M.O. corporation. He had that fighter Little Jack.\"\
"The one that got annihilated by Lucky Spaletti\": interjected Elijah.\"De
ar god save him\": amend Sweetpie.\"Did god tell him to get in the ring wi
th a man four times his height\, three times his width \": query Henda jr.
\"He did knock out ten fighters\, he had to go for the title cous\": affir
m Jojo.\" And then his luck punched out\": quip Elijah\, and Sweetpie elbo
w him.\"Well let's go home\": say Mama Fehene. And the company continue on
the road home.A year passes\, crops are sown\, spirituals are sung\, ance
stors praised\, and Henda jr. and his company see Little Mo again. Sweetpi
e has an added member SweetE in her belly.\"Oba King said\, Little Jacks b
rother tried to kill Little Mo\": stated Henda jr.\"You trust that wily bl
ues man cousin\": question Sweetpie.\"He tells his tales but they are neve
	r all lies\": affirm Jojo.\"The question is why\": ponder Elijah.\"Little
Jacks brother was killed before he could talk to the sheriff\": said Henda
	 jr.\"Isn't that Little Mo's cousin\": said Mama Fehene.\"Yeah Mama\, we k
now them\": said Henda jr. and he continue: \"you all remember Candace who
tried the contest last year\"\"Dear god\, save that child\": interject Sw
eetpie.Henda jr. continue: \"Yeah\, it was after that day that she never h
	ad energy like before\"\"So your saying\": ponder Elijah.\"Mama\, I will b
e back\": say Henda jr.\, and he go to the crowd around Little Mo. The mom
ent Little Mo notice Henda jr. among the crowd\, he says: \"Hold it sir\,
hold it. Look at this man\, look at this glorious man\, why have you good
folk hidden this challenger\, please come forth sir\"Henda jr. with a carr
	y bag\, step forth\, facing Little Mo.Little Mo ask: \"What is your name s
	ir?\"\"Henda jr.\"A little boy say: \"He is John Henry's son\"Little Mo wi
th pleasant exuberance says: \"Of course he is\, of course\, only the son
of the man who defeated the Earth Killer Mark One can be this strapping bu
t... BUT... can he hit the bell atop the Highest Striker\, I think not\":
Little Mo point upward and continues: \"Nine stories tall\, no one has eve
r reached it\, but the prize\": and Little Mo points to a huge trunk\, wid
er than three sequoia trees: \"it is worth a try is it not! Is it not!\"He
nda jr. take out a penny\, and give it to Little Mo.\"Thank you kindly\":
replies Little Mo who hands Henda jr. a hammer and steps away.Henda jr. st
retches and flexes and take a strong stance\, and after a strong breath\,
a swing\, and a crack on the lever\, propelling a puck up high\, and highe
r\, but not high enough. Little Mo giggle: \"Well\, well\, you will not be
the last son of John Henry to fail the Highest Striker\"\"I will like to
try again\": interject Henda jr.\"Oh\, of course\, another penny to the po
und please\": quip Little Mo.\"But I want to use my hammer\": firmly state
Henda jr.\"Those like you have tried all sorts of hammers\, too proud to
stop\, watch people as the Highest Striker remains unringable\"Henda jr. h
ands Little Mo a penny and take out his father's hammer head and hammer ha
ndle from his bag.\"You think those old\, rusty tools will aid you\": quip
Little Mo. Henda jr. screws on the metal threaded ca handle to the thread
ed slot in the head\, and a golden light emit from the completed hammer. H
enda jr. do the same as the prior swing but this time the puck climb high\
	, and high\, and high\, five stories\, seven stories\, eight and a half an
d then the bell is rung so hard it shatters into dust. The sound force eve
ryone to cover their ears. When the sound dissipates Henda jr. smile at Li
ttle Mo who is visibly bitter but regains composure.\"Well done... sir...
well done... since you struck the Highest Striker\, you gain all the penni
es over these good years\"Henda jr. open the trunk and puts a good amount
of pennies in his bag\, and then invites spectators to take as many pennie
s as they can carry. In less than half an hour from folk miles around\, th
e trunk was emptied of pennies and Henda jr. take the trunk\, and Little M
o leave with a big broken striker. And Little Mo never was able to constru
ct a striker so high again. Some say Henda jr.’s strike is still in the
air\, destroying any striker too tall and without the strikers Little Mo n
ever seemed able to get the energy to give boxers. And though some figured
it out and some didn't\, people seemed livelier that coming Sunday all up
and down the Mississippi\, including wee Candace\, who now continues sing
ing the spirituals inspiring all who hear here.from Richard Murray / HDdev
