337-5-Fables-1350141491CONTENT#BlackHistory337 is about the time outside t
he 28 days designated as Black History Month\, an opportunity to celebrate
the contributions of the Black community during the other 337 days of the
year. Let's continue learning all year long\, because history doesn't sto
p when February ends. For this edition of Black337 we will speak of Black F
ables. Some are known outside the Black populace\, like Brer Rabbit or Ana
nsi. Others like High John or The Devil's Daughter are rarely known outsid
	e the Black populace.Do you know a fable from your heritage?If you can't r
ecall one\, have you asked an older relative a fable they know? Most Fables
will be classified in 2026 as a short story. But their structure of inten
tion varies. Those from Charles Perrault\, from France\, added a moral lin
e at the end. His \"Le Petit Chaperon Rouge\" ends in a moral poem which e
nds in\, rough translation \"But\, alas! Who knows only these sweet wolves
\,Of all wolves are the most dangerous? \" . Wu Cheng'en \, from Ming
Dynasty China\, in his journey to the west is a large collection of fable
s with interwoven plot and characters that has an international appeal\, a
s Sun Wukong travels from China to India. Giovanni Francesco Straparola\,
from Italy\, wanted to maintain the intent of fables survived from the pa
ganus into the urban Christian life \, which were meant for all ages while
absent the modern media notion of not showing blood or cruelty to childre
n.Anansi plus Brer Rabbit have collections of fable tales\, each a trickst
er sometimes to smart for their own good.If you know a fable or learned of
a fable from your heritage\, write a literature post and comment in this
