  2. I remain flabbergasted by the comments of some on this forum. Despite the frenzied denials against all evidence, White Supremacy continues to exist. In fact, there are millions of Whites who would just love to return to the days when they could actually own, whip, rape or kill a person with impunity. These are times when their desires were quickly met, their complaints always rectified and their violent rages repeatedly excused. Ah, but don't take it from me. Read an opinion piece in The Black Wall Street Times written by its esteemed founder and editor-in-chief, Nehemiah D. Frank. He's simply highlighting yet more proof that racist Whites are ramping up their siege of us. Our history means nothing to White Supremacists. 5. It's refreshing to see us talk about solutions that should make up a political agenda. Too often we leave that to whites. I would add a few things. I'm no expert these are just opinions. 1. Fully fund and expand the power of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to address widespread employment discrimination. 2. Pressure the Senate to pass the George Floyd Police Reform Act which among other things removes qualified immunity for police officers in civil suits. 3. Do the same with voting rights legislation like the John Lewis Voter Rights Act and the For the People Act that would stop voter suppression. When it comes to community development let's empower local governments and community groups by tying the amount of Federal funding for transportation, infrastructure, and block development grants to plans and progress towards poverty reduction, creation of living wage jobs, and reducing racial disparities. The cities, states, and towns, that have plans and meet goals are favored with funding. Furthermore, let's create and fully fund Federal/ Local partnerships to find and implement solutions to racial and economic inequality that fit unique circumstances. Lastly, fund community-based groups and programs with a track record of results. ` All these things will require a more effective and better coordinated black politics that combines propaganda, lobbying, voting, grassroots organizing, street protests, research, internal discussion, and debate. This will be long-term process with many of us never seeing the results. But that has always been the nature of our struggle. Will white people support any of this? No. Many of them will oppose us. But others will join us. More importantly we must continue to fight disrupting the normalcy and tranquility of this society until the powers that be meet our demands.

  7. Either one can wallow in the past, which cannot be changed, or look to the future. This is a nation where the White Man was supreme for two centuries and where women were necessary for entertainment, sexual pleasure and child bearing. So, of course, Democrats and Republicans and even Independents, all bear blame for how this country evolved politically. But let's deal with NOW. What major political party poses the greatest threat to women? And should men decide what women want to do with their bodies? And to go further, men should also keep quiet about how women should wear their hair, clothes, what careers they should have, whom they should date and how they should think. Should women really be forced to carry a rapists' child to term? How do you think their husbands, boyfriends, mothers, fathers, friends and other relatives would be feel about that? Men can take their time to put on a condom. If they are mature, patient and conscious that their decisions will alter the lives of others. Because birth control regimens may not be healthy, suitable or acceptable for all women of child bearing age.

  8. My concern is that a white guy shot and killed 10 black folks in a grocery store. The shooter apologized for pointing his weapon at a white person laying on the floor. The police didn't fire a single shot at him. They allowed this guy with a gun in hand to decide whether he's was going to kill himself or surrender. Racism is very real. It's a fact that many black folks are dealing with racist crap in one way or another every day.

  9. Arming Black individuals may seem a good idea, especially when we're grieving or angry. But in the long run, it is suicide. There is no way we as a people can overcome the numbers of those sure to congregate against us. And for the record, I, too, want guns out of the Black Community. So do Black grandmothers, mothers, fathers, aunts and uncles. Who are the principal victims of this gun violence in Black neighborhoods? WE ARE! The reason why this violence against Black people continues to occur is because so few of us condemn it openly, loudly and continually. How many actually believe there is White Supremacy? Some actually push back against the notion. And why? Because many on here lean to the Right and some have openly admitted they believe Donald Trump is a great leader. There is little we can do to change such a mindset. Trump is an abashed racist and I posted proof of this a few times of this. But some on here still love him. And so these hateful and racist attacks will continue. Do you know who actually understands what the problem is? Rep. Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. She blames this increasing racial hatred on Republicans. Liz Cheney blames Republicans for White Nationalism

  10. Black folks need to seriously consider arming themselves in order to have a fighting chance if/when they come under the attack of a racist white supremacist. That's why I'm a proponent of the open carry gun laws. Folks will think twice about attacking someone not knowing whether or not they are strapped. I also believe the real reason they want to get guns out of black communities is not to keep black folks from being victims of gun violence. IMO, disarming the black community insures that whenever race soldiers (white supremacists) get the call to exterminate black folks with impunity, we will be soft targets.

  11. Correct. The current system definitely wouldn't allow every black person to be a multimillionaire. H8ll, the system makes it harder for many black folks to become a multi-thousandaire. As black folks, we aren't doing enough collectively to generate, pool and sustain our wealth. Gross consumerism is the opiate that anesthetizes folks into maintaining the status quo.

  12. "Confederate Heritage Month" wow! I can't imagine this passing - especially in a state with a Black population approaching 40%. But I've stopped underestimated our collective ignorance. @StefanI can see why @richardmurray was not too anxious to proclaim that Black people are "free" in this country. To be sure we enjoy more freedoms than we did 100 years ago, but are we completely free here? I'm not so sure. I know you are familiar with gerrymandering which has diminished the impact of our vote, so while we can vote, our vote is not equal to that of a white person's. I know you understand what redlining is and how that systematically prevented Black people from buying real-estate. The impact if this continues to this day in terms of lost generational wealth that give white families a substantial benefit over Black ones. Obviously the hyper-incarceration and policing of Black people has created an unimaginable toll on Black people. Sure we can buy a car and drive down the street, but we are far more likely to be pulled over, arrested, and even killed than a white people is. I can't even tell you how many times I've been pulled over by the police. This stands in stark contrast to the number of white women I've spoken with who have NEVER been pulled over -- or get off with a warning for the same infraction. I can create a website, but white-owned companies monopolize search and marginalize Black-owned websites in favor of white-owned sites in search results. as a result, Black website's value is stripped away. what is the value of that freedom? I could do this all day... and so could you. I many ways our freedom is a farce. Oprah, Obama and others are the exception not the rule. The fight for freedom is a constant battle. Otherwise we end up with Confederate Heritage Month.
