  1. The Anti-Abortion group says their next step is a federal ban on contraception and abortion. This move criminalizes women and will also stomp over the right to privacy. When I first began visiting this forum in 2010, there was a lot of talk about the fall of the Black community because unmarried Black women were having babies with multiple men. I noticed, too - no one put the onus on men. I'll never understand that perspective, mainly since men cause 100 percent of unwanted pregnancies. But let's say women lose the right to choose abortion. And any attempt to abort, a woman becomes a felon. Felons lose their rights to participate in society, especially in the political system. Black women are the most consistent voting block, but we're no match to combat voter obstruction. So, what's next? The government subjugates and returns black women to breeder status? Speculation aside, if black women lose their rights to exercise agency in this society, what's next for the Black community?

  2. Absolutely! This is exactly why I've been keeping a side-eye on this invasion-war because eventually black people pay the price for not paying attention!

  3. I grew up in a time where the elders would tell us to "stay out of grown folks' business". Well...whenever white folks have a dust up or skirmish among themselves...that's not black folks' business to get involved one way or another. However, black folks already under the persecution of racism white supremacy need to figure out to avoid the sh8t that rolls downhill when the dust settles between the white folks. They won't call them immigrants so....wherever they choose to go, Ukrainian refugees will be able to find safe harbor in other countries around the world. The US has already committed to taking 100k Ukrainians. The Governor of Ohio has done a PSA (public service announcement) extending an open invitation to them. Black folks had better hope they are not relocated in order to make those accommodations.

  4. There's so much geopolitical ignorance in America - but it's not surprising since most of us don't even know how our own government works. I can't speak intelligently on the Ukraine war-invasion... I'm still heartbroken that I can't get unbiased information on what appears to be a civil war in "the land of the gods" Ethiopia. Please continue to share your perspective and information - I'm paying attention I just don't know where I should focus it across the pond. (aside: we are so isolated here in the americas)

  5. @Chevdove And here is where I leave the debate which began with the Bible. Fantasy, supposition, theories and feel-good tales are good for the soul and the ego. But I will never look to ancient Egypt for inspiration or the source of my ancestors. They were Slavers, too. And according to the Bible, Yahweh whooped their butt, drowning the then-Pharaoh along with his vaunted chariot force in the Red Sea.

  6. I wonder where Nels got the warning a giant asteroid was going to strike Earth? He must have gotten an email from General Melvin Meteor, Commander of the Asteroid Army. Well, we're on the lookout for the giant Nels-sponsored asteroid. In the meantime, you might wanna buy one my bright yellow, hard hat helmets with the revolving red lights for $79.99. They'll make great post-Apocalyptic gifts for the special one in your life. That is if General Melvin Meteor spares them.

  7. Nels is an apologist for White Racists. His whole mantra and the reason he posts is to demean Black men and women, castigate the victims of racial violence and explain away the awesome achievements of the Black Race as sheer luck. This is why I still don't believe he is Black. He sounds like he is of the same ethnic background as Dinesh D'Souza. I've encountered countless like-minded individuals from the same country online who exhibit a deep seated hatred against Black people. Such ones all display an appalling and delusional contempt for Barack Obama and never fail to weigh in on this country's racial ills - but always on the side of racist Whites and Republicans. The worst aspect of their posts is that they try to be funny about it. White Supremacy is REAL and the adherents of this sick and dangerous Group Think are becoming more emboldened and committing horrible acts every few months. And the victims are not only Black. They are Latino, Asian, Muslim, Hindu and from Central and South America. Here is the end result of another hate crime attack, this time, the victim is Peruvian. A 64-year White man in Milwaukee, Wisc., was just sentenced to ten years in prison for tossing drain cleaner in Mahud Villalaz's face after questioning the victim's immigration status. The incident happened outside a Mexican restaurant in November 2019. Villalaz is a U.S. citizen. Who called this a hate crime? The jurors and the judge. Ya'll can go ahead and bury your heads in the sand as so many on here do. Or adopt Nel's ridiculous position - that this is all the fault of Black people and well meaning people who call this viciousness out. Here is one of a few news stories on the outcome of this crime: Another racial hate attack, this time the victim is Peruvian

  8. Agreed. In terms of how this law would play out for White women, I have a difficult time thinking that they would be criminalized if the goal is to foster more births. But, when it comes to Black women, it will definitely criminalize them! This government does not want more Black births. This law would be dividing, imo. And, it makes me think about the issue with laws such as the use of marijuana in the past. I sometimes wonder how many Black people have been cited for breaking this law and criminalized but on the other hand, how many White people guilty of the same offense were able to get lawyers to avoid being cited.

  11. Hate crimes are very real in America. That's why there is an Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill that was passed with overwhelming support in both the House and Senate. Black folks in America are victims of hate crimes far more than any other group of people yet do not have similar protection in the form of legislation. IMO, that makes it easier for racist white folks to continue killing black folks with impunity.

  13. @KENNETHAnd they are viable opinions too! I was fortunate to work on a multimillion dollar project in West Virginia like the one you've mentioned in community development. It works but there is a lot of push back from people who believe they are too proud to accept help. Thank you for adding to the list!

  14. I think you're missing the point. The shooter is a tool of the Left and he was co-opted to commit the most egregious of crimes because of the Democrat's race-hustling political narrative, which is 'race'. The shooter himself stated in the manifesto he left behind that he is and admitted Leftist, not a white supremacist. It's incredulous that people and Black America in particular, don't seem to understand that the race bogeyman is being used to manipulate them.

  16. @Stefan just for the record, I didn't share this as someone who is personally invested in any crypto. I just know people who are and I know people in this community who are. so I shared. but I want it known I am not an investor in crypto and I have offline spoken against crypto to my friends, some of whom are deeply involved. I don't share cause I always concur or agree with. I share Black cause the black community is internally multiracial and I want all of the races in the Black community to grow. @Troy I concur to your point about crypto not being for the general populace. But I use more statistics. During the sars -cov-2 the white man admitted that circa 70% of children in the poor sections of los angeles didn't have internet for the online school thing. A similar number the white man stated for the entire continent of africa, which the white man also states has the quickest growing quantity of under twenties in humanity. The internet, all the financial management schemes touted all the time, are clearly not for the general populous in the usa or on earth with such numbers. @ProfDyes, the greatest lesson in monopoly is what happens when a player has a little money , owns no lands, and all lands are sold, and is still playing:) In defense, ever since the dutch started their stock market, the white community has always created radical financial markets to sucker those who think they can get lucky. The slot machine is a well known device by know and yet, still does a lot of damage to personal accounts. Fiscally wealthy whites comprehend all others, including poor whites, will always have many who will gamble even knowing the odds is bad, crypto is merely one of many. Why do people keep playing monopoly when they are clearly finished:) @Delano truth. but, people will always risk cause the truth is, .001 percent risk and win, that is the genius of stock markets, card tables at macau, crypto, many people know, if you are not willing to kill somebody for their wealth or enslave somebody for their labor, then absent those sturdier schemes to get rich quick, you have to gamble to get quick and ...

  18. I don't care how many classes, seminars or free food becomes available to lure folks into patched up Crypto snake oil tents. The future of Crypto is about as murky as the chances of Putin conquering Ukraine and rest of former Warsaw Pact nations without the use of nuclear weapons or having Klingons and Romulans as allies. Or Global Warming suddenly disappearing because the Right Wing wants to continue ignoring it. Crypto markets have been heading south for weeks and it's clear now that the demand for NFT's has crashed so badly, you can barely find it in the basement. Ah, but don't take it from me: The NFT market is, shall we say ... in free fall?

  19. Noah was not a Slave to anyone. He was one of only eight survivors of a global flood. And Chevdove is absolutely correct. God cursed Canaan, not Ham. And the progenitor of the Black Race is believed by most anthropologists and Bible scholars to be Cush or Kush, a son of Ham and grandson of Noah.

  20. @ProfD You are definitely right! The land buffer was Putin's main goal all along. Putin may want to reconstitute his empire, but few of those former Russian satellite nations appear willing to rejoin the Warsaw Pact. Once he conquered Ukraine, Putin thought he could use propaganda, his oil and gas reserves and a re-elected Trump to lean on the rest of Europe. But Ukraine is resisting valiantly. This is why some analysts believe this war might drag on for years. A lot of people don't realize Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett advised Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Putin's demands and forgo ever joining NATO. There are hundreds of thousands of Jews in Ukraine and Russia and Bennett wanted to make sure their lives will be spared. @Chevdove What timeline are you taking about? I know in the 1970's and 1980's Russia helped out with Black revolutionary movements in Angola, Rhodesia and South Africa. I know Cuba did, too. Pretoria then demanded help from Tel Aviv. And Israel offered the Afrikaaners an atom bomb, but its supporters denied this ever happened. The West dubbed these nations "Frontline States." I read "Africa" magazine diligently and worked with a fellow journalist whose family was close to Archbishop Desmond Tutu during his 1984 trip to New York and Washington, D.C. But I have never seen a news report from a valid source that alluded to Russia offering sanctuary to Black Africans who fled the invasion. If you talking about right at this moment, It would seem fantastical because any flights from Africa heading for Russia would be noticed. NATO, the U.S. and likely Israel are tracking everything in the air, land and sea connected to this conflict now. And I doubt Black Africans who made it into Poland would be permitted to board flights to Russia. But I will try to check this out.

  21. Yes, the Bible sanctioned Slavery. Period. Even Jewish scholars acknowledge this. This is a long read, but since few on this forum actually read and understand Yiddish and Hebrew and not considered scriptural scholars, I believe this will suffice: Jewish scholars say the Bible does condone Slavery

  22. That didn't stop slaveowners in America from using the Bible to controls and justify their inhuman treatment of slaves. The Bible ha always been used to enforce mental slavery.

  23. You are absolutely wrong. The reason why Chattel Slavery is considered one of the most evil incarnations of involuntary servitude is due to its severity. Thus far, the only peoples to have experienced Chattel Slavery have been African Americans. No other race or ethnic group suffered so distinctly, so horribly and for so long as U.S. Blacks. Chattel Slavery is the worst. And because it was so uncommon, it could never be considered a traditional form of slavery. The scriptures I cited, which make allowances for eventual freedom for Israelite slaves in addition to liberation for grievous injuries to them, are proof of my contention. Because during Chattel Slavery, there were no provisions made for such compassion.

  24. @Addison In the Bible, Israelites became slaves to one another, not through kidnapping or a lower societal birth, but because of debt or poverty. According to most Old Testament slave apologists, selling one self into slavery during the time of the Israelites was a way to pay off debt. So, Israelites who owed money, goods or land, might sell themselves into slavery and even their children to pay off a debt. If this is not condoning slavery, I don’t know what is. Because you will never read an absolute condemnation of slavery in the Bible. For many historians, nothing was as bad as Chattel Slavery imposed on African or Freed Blacks in the U.S. This type of Chattel Slavery was full of cruelty, inhumanity and capricious violence. But slaves to Israelites, who were supposed to be treated as hired hands, were not to be badly treated. If an Israelite slave was given a foreign woman as a wife and she birthed children for him, the foreign wife could not be freed, nor her children. That is slavery with no end. This is how the Bible explains this when it came time to free an Israelite slave: “If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children will become her master’s and he will go out by himself.” (Exodus 21: 4). Now, pay attention to that verse. The so-called Master could GIVE the slave a wife. Think the woman or the children had any choice in the matter? And as I mentioned in a previous post, some Israelite slave owners did mistreat their slaves, which is why laws had to be written about this. “If a man strikes the eye of his slave man or the eye of his slave girl and he destroys it, he is to let the slave go free in compensation for his eye. And if he knocks out the tooth of his slave man or of his slave girl, he is to let the slave go free in compensation for his tooth.” (Exodus 21:26, 27) In the Bible, slavery persisted into the days of the Roman Empire because Philemon, a disciple of Jesus, the Nazarene, owned a slave named Onesimus. (Philemon 16) Even in the first century, slaves weren't treated spectacularly well as evidence by Paul's warnings to some folks who were apparently following his teachings. "And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him." (Ephesians 6:8) ”Masters, treat your slaves justly and fairly, for you know that you also have a Master in heaven.” (Col. 1:4) You can ignore those scriptures all you want. However, those mild criticisms made by Paul are not condemnatory against the institution of slavery of humans, whether they sold themselves into slavery or were captured prisoners. Don’t make the mistake of confusing the term “slave of the Lord” for being an actual slave. Even a casual reader would quickly understand those phrases mean completely different things.

  25. There were 70,000 foreigners studying in Ukraine, according to various publications and Ukrainian government officials. About a quarter were Black Africans. There were about 20,000 Indians, according to 2020 government data. They fled the war, just as anyone with a working brain would. But many Blacks were mistreated as they tried to flee. They were beaten and blocked from boarding trains and buses scheduled to cross into Poland. Many had to walk miles to get to safe areas. Not all the Africans have made it home. When most managed to cross the border, some were tossed into detention camps. This is what I am chiefly concerned about. Massacres, rapes, home burnings and slaughters occur in many conflicts. And often, those who engage in such atrocities do not need to be forced. Ask the people of Bosnia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and the Rohingya in Malaysia. Soldiers, ordinary civilians and even a few religious leaders will take part willingly. But the question is: Why did Putin invade Ukraine? To teach the West a lesson. Stop expanding NATO eastward. Because there is no way in hell that Poland, Austria, Hungary or the eastern portion of Germany are going to rejoin the Warsaw Pact. There is just no friggin’ way that is going to happen. Putin knew Western Europe wants to avoid another war on their continent. And Putin recognized the U.S. is politically and racially divided and that he can count on Trump and the worst in the GOP to back his play. Trump called Putin "smart" for invading Ukraine and blamed President Biden. People claim the invasion would not have taken place if Trump was in the White House. “I mean, he’s taking over a country for $2 worth of sanctions. I’d say that’s pretty smart," Trump said during a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. This is according to a recording of the February event posted online, the Wall Street Journal reported. I will post a link, but it is behind a paywall. ( https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/russia-ukraine-latest-news/card/trump-calls-putin-s-invasion-of-ukraine-smart-blames-biden-for-not-doing-enough-JicGb9xT5GnCZpQdiBjN ) Yes, Russia would have invaded Ukraine with Trump in the White House with 45 issuing orders for the U.S. to stand down and not render assistance. Trump held up aid $400 million to Ukraine because Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky would not lie and accuse Joe Biden of corruption. This resulted in Trump's first impeachment. Despite having cruise missiles, drones and of course nukes and submarines capable of firing missiles that could incinerate enemy cities, military bases and agricultural regions within a half hour, Putin is not looking for Armageddon. Those who don’t know history fail to understand that Russians still have a morbid fear of another Operation Barbarossa. So, Putin, his generals and strategists want hundreds of miles or even a thousand miles as a buffer from an invasion with conventional forces. Still, hundreds or possibly thousands, of Russian civilians in Moscow and other cities protested the invasion. You don’t hear much from many of them anymore. For all the endless talk about NATO being a bulwark against Russia, the alliance hasn’t done crap to liberate Donbas and simply allowed Ukrainian cities to be bombed into ruins. Covertly or openly funneling supplies and drones to Ukraine after Russian tanks, missiles and helicopters have turned Ukrainian cities into modern bombed out versions of Dresden, Hamburg and Berlin, isn’t doing much. And imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would entail a wider war, downed aircraft from all antagonists and endless prisoner-of-war videos. Not to mention the risks of nuclear annihilation if Putin is publicly humiliated again. When Putin vowed to forcefully avenge the loss of his Black Sea flagship missile cruiser Moskva, he wasn’t kidding. Russian invasion exposes Europe's racism against Africans
