  1. I haven’t seen The Woman King yet -and I will when it comes to the small screen. But I still have a problem with the concept that no one in all of social media has mentioned. Black women will shape-shift into anything a Black man wants us to be and we still get treated like ish. I’m glad some of us have finally moved into a space where we’ve said enough. These women warriors were well aware there was human trafficking occurring during those years of fighting off colonialism. And they absolutely fought Europeans - It’s documents and even the French, once they conquered the Dahomey people - made sure to subjugate women. But these women fought for the King - a king who also had many wives while these women became like eunuchs - no sex, no family ties -just fight and die for their country. Even today, we have Black men like Hershel Walker paying for abortions while denying women the right to choose are even showing up at the polls to make sure more rights aren’t taken from Black women. Wait. my Black mayor signed into law that no resources would be used and no criminal investigations would be conducted for abortions or miscarriages against any woman in our city. So, at least he’s got us. But Seriously, the things we women have gone through for the past 17,000 years is enough for me to wonder why there aren’t more “Bobbit” cases on the docket.

  2. That absolutely works in many cases. As a musician (creative), I can compose and play music for many hours to my contentment without an audience. Yet, when it's time to gig, there's a sense of satisfaction that comes with being able share and having people hear, dig, nod their heads and dance to the music too.

  3. Truth. Revolutionaries, visionaries and creative types will encounter a lot of opposition because most people are wired to go along with the status quo. The average person cannot see a vision that has not been validated or codified. Also, most critical people tend to be successful failures in their own right. In some weird way, being unaccomplished (critics) gives bitter people license to be the biggest haters. Avoid them like a plague. As a revolutionary, visionary or creative person, keep pressing toward the mark of a higher calling.

  4. @Chevdove if you have a revolutionary idea it takes people a long time to understand. I have been working on Astrology for 24 years and time for the last five. Most Astrologers have no idea what I'm doing. I have one Astrological friend who gets it. As do my clients. It's hard to comprehend because it isn't like anything other people are doing. So they have no framework for my practice. I just keep going. Keep the focus on you and your work. Family and friends can be antagonistic if you don't play the role they have put on you. So communicate with people that affirm you and leave the critics where they are. Just ask yourself are the critics well adjusted and satisfied with their lives.

  5. Thank you for this observation of me! @Delano And you know, finding a great concentration of people that would appreciate my research is the challenge! Ironically, a lot of my research, I feel would help ADOS and many who have not thought of reassessing the church, but again, that's a challenge. Wow! Thank you @Pioneer1! I really needed this. I might have been a little down and so, I looked over the points you posted and yes, before I got a little under the weather, I might have thought those things about myself too. Now though, I will re-align myself. My relatives are sometimes, I feel too hard on me and want me to be perfect for them, but they don't return the favor. My health is shot and it seems that everytime I try to work on myself, it's my family that seems to attack me and shoot me down. I think they would be upset if I were to lose some of these pounds I have added to my frame and get in shape. But yes, I am now in my 60s and really, I do feel that I could get back up and turn a new chapter in my life, I just need to focus and as @Delano suggested seek other avenues as well that might recognize my efforts. I happen to stumble across my old high school picture in a forum called classmate, and I just can't believe that I was so thin way back then. My hair is awful and LOL, I can see I was stuck on the Farrah Fawcet feathers. But this pic made me realize, I might need to hit the treadmill.

  7. Chev Yeah, when I lived in San Diego I used to catch the trolly/train to SOUTH EAST San Diego because that was where most of the Black people lived. But to answer your question, YES...I knew she resigned. She had little choice to because of so much pressure being put on the council itself. Even Jim Crow Joe Biden called for her and others resignation....I knew it was a wrap.

  8. Lol....because most women would actually consider that more of a loss for THEM rather than the newly dis-membered male victims.

  9. Bittersweet that yesterday our sista Brittney Griner spent her 32nd birthday in a Russian prison. I still do not believe Brittney will be over there this time next year. The pony express is on the way. Hang in there sista.

  10. Lol...what? Without having even met you in real life I know you possess atleast 5 or 6 of those characteristics right off the bat. They are confident - They believe in themselves and their abilities, nothing is ever impossible to them. They have tremendous self-esteem and usually don't need others to validate them or show them their greatness. They don't wait for opportunities to present themselves, they create them - You snooze, you lose is their mantra. They believe that some opportunities are hard to come by and don't always present themselves; they create opportunities where and when they see fit. They are resilient - They don't give up in the face of adversity. They may stumble and even fall but they don't stay down for long. They know how to bounce back and don't waste time and energy wallowing in self-pity. They are consistent - They work their plan diligently even when it seems wiser to quit because results aren't evident. They don't get bored by repetition or rote routines. They know that as long as they keep on sowing, they will eventually reap. They never stop dreaming - No matter how much they accomplish, they never allow themselves to get too comfortable and content. They forever seek out ways to get to the next level and dream up new dreams. They value self-development and improvement - They always evaluate themselves and seek out ways to better themselves and become the kind of person they need to be to sustain their goals and dreams. They have laser-like focus - They don't allow themselves to get distracted by things that would likely jeopardize the fulfillment of their goals and dreams. They always keep their eyes on the prize. All of those above alone....describe your presence on AALBC

  11. I’m not familiar with this characterization of their relationship” Dr. Welsing was an actual medical doctor in the field of psychiatry. Someone with her background would be in the position to update his work to make it relevant in the 80s and 2000s . I can see her as maybe a “Student”, in the sense of life-long learning. However, their affiliation was most likely a benefit to both. “Welsing was trained in the liberal arts at Antioch College and in medicine at Howard University College of Medicine, where she would eventually serve as faculty. A long-standing private practitioner and pioneer in the fields of child psychiatry and mental health, her longest institutional affiliation was as the Clinical Director and Staff Physician with the Washington D.C. Department of Human Services“ - EBONY 2016 Only fools would believe this! Fuller’s work definitely awakens those who don’t understand the roots and foundation of “western civilization.” The U.K. and its spawn the United States colonized, and in some cases, is still colonizing the world. Heck. even England’s citizens don’t realize they’re colonized. Well, I think they’re getting a clue when they have curtsy and bow to Meghan Markle, supremacy doesn’t include all white folks.

  12. Neely Fuller is definitely not advocating that folks acquiesce to racism white supremacy. To the contrary. His book provides a guide for how to understand and overcome it. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing did not update the book. She was a student of Neely Fuller's writing. They did speaking engagements together. She did encourage him to update the book from the 1st edition. Just like Religion, not all medicine is good for all patients. Some folks will read Fuller's work and see him as an old man out of touch with reality. But, as Fuller states, it's up to the individual to take what they want from book and apply it to how they choose to deal with the system of racism white supremacy.
