Cynique
Well, this is the year that all the ancient prognosticators have calculated to culminate in Doomsday, - come December 21st. If the Republicans win the election, I'd say this prediction sounds pretty accurate. The age of America being a nation of citizens who look out for each other will be over. The false prophets wrapping themselves in religion, waving the American flag, disguising their greed as fiscal responsibility, couching their bigotry in a cry for a return to the "good ol days" while turning the struggle to survive into a class war, will be who represent the Apocalypse. Or - will the Age of Aquarius prevail as the stars prove the dire interpretations of their alignment to be wrong. Who knows??? Only time will tell. And time has a way of keeping secrets... Happy New Year, all. Find a way to enjoy 2012 while you can.

This is true. If the American public elects these Republican nimrods (.e.g. Mitt Romney), well, not better for them. When they eviscerate the social safety net (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, et al), further deregulate big businesses and slash the tax codes for corporations and eliminate tens of thousands of government and union jobs (do you have any idea how many blacks are employed in government jobs?), start the saber rattling of war (Iran) again, etc, etc....I have no sympathy for them...... Troy
Happy New year everyone! Surround yourself with people you love and who love you. That is all we can do. American's, despite all the shit going down now, have been largely spared from the misery that is quite common in the rest of the world. Try to stay positive, and do what good you can. In fact, if we all can make it through the day without murdering someone, stealing something, telling unnecessary lies, and maybe share something with someone less fortunate, America would be a better place.
