Guest Erv James
Hey, Hoping all is well with you all. Wondering if any of my well-read folks belonging to this group can help me with a bit of dissertation research. Can anyone name a prominent African American writer, soldier, intellectual, athlete or entertainer from the south who experienced an epiphany after traveling/living outside the segregated south/US. Were they emboldened by newly found freedom elswhere? Did they go on to protest inequality in a monumental way? Especially interested in those figures who have published their experiences but fictional short stories or novels are useful too. Seeking names, authors and book titles.
