Grand Re-Opening of Revolution Books on November 15!

The Funds Needed to Get to the Finish Line...

Let's Work Together

Friends,

We are in the final push to re-open Revolution Books on Sunday, November 15! This is going to be a wonderful celebration of the bookstore about the world and for a radically different world -- re-opening in Harlem! Our new address: 437 Malcolm X Blvd./Lenox Ave. @ 132nd Street.

Ngugi wa Thiong'o, the internationally renowned Kenyan novelist, will be flying in for a reading and talk at the Grand Opening, and Andy Zee, spokesperson for Revolution Books, will speak about "Revolution Books and the Emancipation of Humanity." Check back at www.revolutionbooksnyc.org for details on time and tickets soon.

Your support is needed now for RB to re-open. $35,000 is required to complete the renovation (lighting, signage, venting, ceiling, front counter), and to tell the world about RB in Harlem. You can also volunteer to help put the books on the shelves, beginning this weekend.

This is a race to the finish line to raise the $35,000.
Everyone's donation is crucial. Here's how we'll do it together:

-- Everyone reading this email, DONATE  $25-$1000!

Then send this email and your reason for contributing to 5 people. 1 or 2 of these 5 will donate $25-$500, then they'll send it out to 2 more, this is how it will grow...

-- A few of you reading this email can donate $1000 or $2500. Do that. Then tell 5 people why.

-- A few you know 1 or 2 people who could give $5000 or even $10,000, if they understood the importance of this unique bookstore. Contact them, or tell us. Someone from the staff can go meet with them.

-- Watch the RB website for ticket information about the Grand Opening, buy a premium ticket, buy a block of tickets, reach out to a restaurant that can donate food for the celebration.

Every day makes it clearer how urgent it is that RB re-open. Just think about the last week. #RiseUpOctober: three days of mass resistance against police terror...dozens of family members of unarmed civilians killed by the police stepping on to the political stage and inspiring people to act. The media and authorities are now waging a vicious campaign against these protests -- even as police continue to rampage in public schools!

Revolution Books is where people can get deeply into why the racist murders, and exoneration of the police, keep happening. This is where people can discover that there is a way out of this, and all the horrors of this system. At RB, an incredible mix of people will come together -- a place of critical thinking and wrangling like nowhere else. The shelves will be filled with literature and poetry, science and history, philosophy and art, and communist theory.  People will find the books and deep engagement about why the world is the nightmare it is and how a whole new and liberating world is possible through revolution. The new RB will also have a children's corner filled with imaginative books that promote values of unity, diversity, cooperation-- and understanding.   At Revolution Books, people can connect with the movement for revolution.

Let's work together to raise the $35,000. And let's come together on November 15th for the exciting grand opening of Revolution Books in Harlem.

DONATE TODAY.
