Cynique
Chicagoans can really relate to the great Ida B. Wells because a large low-rent housing complex was named after her. Back when "the projects" weren't havens for drugs and crime and sordidness, many of today's older black members of Chicago's affluent middleclass grew up there and went on to become successful professionals, Also, 2 of her grandsons were at Illinois during the time I was there. These homes were eventually demolished.
