I don't believe ANY of this.

It's nothing more than racial politics as usual.

Conservative White politicians around the state of Michigan have been targetting Detroit and trying to destroy the Black political and economic structure of that city for decades.
They tried it with Coleman Young, they did it with Kwame Kilpatrick, they targeted various Black Police Chiefs, School Superintendants, and other prominent Blackfigures.

If they were serious about going after criminals, there are plenty of crooked White principles and politicians all over the state they could be going after....but they like focusing on Black Detroit.
There's a Governor sitting up in Lansing right now who is directly responsible for the poisoning of over 100,000 citizens of a city.....why don't they go after HIM and charge HIM instead of targetting professional Black women in positions of authority?

BTW....the teachers AND the principles deserve FAR more money than they're getting paid ANY damn way, so what if they decide to treat themselves to a perk or two?
They DESERVE more than they're accused of stealing!

I believe it, but I also believe white folks abuse the system even more.  As with anything else Black people are prosecuted more frequently, penalized more harshly, and more weakly represented by attorneys in our criminal justice system.

But stealing money that should go to students is wrong no matter what the so called race of perpetrator is.  It is unfortunate, though that Black folks suffer more as victims and victimizers.  It is all connected

It is easier to steal in the charter school system because there has to be a foundation set up to garner the government funding as a non profit. In that structure I have seen non-profits have lavish offices, all of the people at the top drive BMWs and carry Gucci bags. The schools have a mediocre tech infrastructure and the people who run the schools are not academics and don't have any real understanding of how to empower teachers. These schools also tend to cater to the "struggling" student making the atmosphere very tense and also allowing for the abuse of kids due to fear of not having any where else to go if they are kicked out. The public school system is a very difficult place to hide discrepancies, but it happens. The overall issue is that people look to schools when there isn't anything a school can do without a good parent or parent involvement. The school in the poorest area in the country can be successful if the parents support the kids.

I'm not for anyone stealing from children.
But how can I trust any news coming from people who have a history or targeting Black politicians with the intent to destroy their political career and Black economic power in Detroit and other urban communities?

It's like some known Nazi sympathizer giving me news about the behavior of certain Jews in the neighborhood.

Why would anyone with common sense trust anything HE has to say on the matter?

These people don't give a damn about the children

Again, we have a clear example of criminal neglegence on the part of the Governor's office in Lansing making decisions that lead to the poisoning of an entire city; so if these prosecutors were SINCERE about going after criminals or looking out for the children....as they claim...they'd be focusing their resource in the state's Capital.

We shouldn't let these people shift our focus from one criminal to the next.
No...my focus is on Lansing and what they did to the people of Flint.
We can work on the Detroit public school principles later.

Charter schools are nothing more than just another indirect way to RE-segregate the public educational system.

Like Troy said, parents with money will send their children to private schools which usually offers and all around better education.

The only exception I've observed would be these PAROCHIAL Catholic schools that can be found in many inner cities around America. They charge parents way too much money and offer the students very little except for perhaps more safety than they would get in the local public schools. But from what I've seen most Catholic schools are actually inferior to public schools academic wise.

One last thing: The OP decries "corrupt" black teachers and administrators. Question: Have any of them been convicted? Or, is this as with any accusation against black people, no matter how foul, they are automatically GUILTY.... without a trial?

I believe I raised a related question a few weeks ago in another thread about how the American media seems to try and convict people in the editing room before the ink finishes drying on the papers of their prosecution.

Whether it's supposedly "white collar" crimes such as this, or the daily robberies and murders sensationalized on the nightly news......the media is constantly flashing the pictures of SUSPECTS all over the screen along with their ALLEDGED crimes without all of the facts of the case essentionally condeming them in the court of public opinion and ruining their reputation in society.

Surely there needs to be some sort of law against this type of "dry racism" so often engaged in by the mainstream American media.

Well, seeing as how Barbara Byrd Bennett, Chicago's highly-paid,  black female Superintendent of Schools was recently forced to resign  after the Feds found out she was in cahoots with a consultant company that paid her thousands in kickbacks, I have to say that I'd give her an  "A" when it came to emulating corrupt white officials who get caught and are smeared by the MEDIA.

One of the demands quoted in an E-maIl that helped seal her doom was what she wrote to one of her partners-in- crime who apparently was draggin his feet on her money: "I have tuitions to pay and Casinos to visit"..

Black mothers of Chicago school children were especially saddened and disappointed because  during Byrd's tenure she was instrumental in closing schools with low enrollment causing students to have to walk further to other schools through crime-infested neighborhoods.

.  As the Superintendent of schools the buck stopped with Barbara Byrd-Bennett.  Obviously, closing schools to save money was an unpopular decision with parents of children affected, and this was an afterthought to my original statement in regard to  Barbara Byrd-Bennett being forced to resign because of taking bribes, something you want to sanitize.

But you can't handle the truth because you are so used to lying, you judge everybody else by your own deceitful dishonest self.

I'm not saying ALL Black officials are saints completely innocent of the charges they're accused of. I'm saying too often Black people in positions of authority are TARGETED for harassment and removal of power by an even GREATER agenda based on racist plans to limit Black political and economic power.  There prosecutors could care less about real "justice".  They have  racist agenda and they often use the media to help carry it out so we should be cautious in everything we hear.

Besides, student loans and college tuition are artificially manufactured debts and costs that need not be.  Students and parents refuse to stand up and demand lower costs, so this is what they get for their cowardice.  And casinos are legal institutions for gambling. If the public has a problem with city officials hanging out at the casino then they should start a petition to get them shut down.   Other than that, however a person wants to spend their earned money is their own business as far as I'm concerned.

It's funny to me how the media managed to get the scoop on THIS woman's emails and don't mind sharing them with the world, yet we've still heard nothing about the emails swapped among the staff members of Governor Jeb Bush's Administration and it's involvemnt in voter fraud during the 2000 election.

Not a peep.

Black people get caught because they aren't that great at cover-ups and the offenders don't have friends in high places.

Black people get caught because they're targeted, i.e., more closely scrutinized. And unlike many, if not most, white people in the same positions and doing the very same kinds of misdeeds, AND WORSE, black people go to jail. We are not living in a post-racial America.

I couldn't have said it better myself !

Just today I was looking at an article about former congressman Mel Reynolds being arrested down in Atlanta.

They tend to follow our people around hounding them and hounding them

And then we think of Harold Washington...the Black former mayor of Chicago that some say was hounded and harassed so much it gave the man a fatal heart attack.

Chasitie

if we are unhappy with the schoools, why dont the parents boycott? Dont send them. Stop going. Stop participating...just one week. Or reinforce with your own teaching.

I agree, with all of thee above....but for MORE than a week.
Perhaps most of our youth should just leave the public education system all together since the drop our rate for Black boys in the United States is approaching 50% anyway.

Most Black boys drop out of school not because they aren't smart enough, but because of how they are treated by the teachers and staff.  Half of the female teachers are trying to entice them into sex, the other half are intimidated by them and seek to expell them for the most minor of offenses.

I've complained about the Western educational system for years and how it robs Black and Brown children (especially males) of their creativity and tends to give them low self esteem.  You spend 12 years learning what a LOSER you ad your race is and how magnificent the European race is.

....and many of the MALE teachers and staff also target Black boys for sex.

I still remember being approached by one of the
guidance counselors at our middle school.
Something told me not to trust him so I just kept nodding my head but never took him up on his offer for more counselling and mentoring.   But he was so smooth with it, there's no telling how many boys he probably trapped.

What about your English teacher? Math teacher? Extra curricular activities teacher? Did all the other horny black teenaged boys complain about teachers hitting on them for sex?

My homeroom teacher in highschool did.
She was married, and even back in highschool I knew not to mess around with married women.
Another one in middle school also was very found of me and dropped hint after hint but I was too young and a little scared to take her up on her offer.

I was in a college prep program and was hit on by one of the Administrators in it.
I won't tell you what happened with that....lol.

Please. Pedophiles are everywhere. Still, only a small percentage (no where near HALF) of teachers target black OR ANY RACE boys for sex.

Never underestimate the power of Black male sexual attraction.
A lot of these teachers specifically target BLACK BOYS.
They already find Black people attractive and the authority they have as teachers gives them an opportunity to take advantage of the Black children under their control.

Look at the headlines featuring teachers who have sex with students.
Most of the cases feature White women having sex with Black or Hispanic students...is this a coincidence?

You may have a point when it comes to elementary and middle school, but I don't consider teachers who hit on student in highschool are pedophiles.
By law in many cases it is indeed statutory rape, but as a matter of fact most of the students are in or past puberty and are considered young adults so it's not so unnatural or sick for teachers to find them attractive.....or vice versa.

There are quite a few teachers I found attractive in highschool and would have JUMPED at any opportunity they gave me.

Are you autistic by the way....?

Yes, I know what autism is.
Most autistic people are very literal minded and tend to take everything exactly as it is said and don't understand benign conversational exaggeration.

If you tell them HALF the people driving around in traffic are crazy drivers, they'll try to google those stats and come back squealing at you about "making up facts"....lol.

The fact is, Black males ARE targeted for sexual exploitation by teachers and other staff in our school system.  I believe they're targeted more than boys of any other race.

Speaking of autism, we're looking at some of the children of Flint to see if the lead contamination is also contributing to the rise of autism in children around the United States along with other environmental factors.

One of the biggest indicators of autism is a tendency to repeat oneself, as in "half the teachers.... half the teachers."

Ergo, stop projecting your challenges upon others.... simply because they take you to task for exaggerating WILDLY, i.e., making stuff up (Freudian slip?).

Yeah, I'm gonna "slip" something alright.
It's gonna be my FOOT up somebody's ass in a minute...lol.

And REPEATEDLY....like a true autistic....lol.

Euuuu.... somebody don't like it when others don't take their insults lying down.... and fling 'em right back at'em!

That's right.
Standing up to bullies don't always work, sometimes it gets you in MORE trouble with them....lol.

Sometimes it's best to just agree with them and do as they say to stay on their good side....lol.
