Guest K.A. Gendo
Hi AALBC community, I am interested in a review for my recently released magical realism novel Diaspora: Return to Africa. Synopsis: Imara’s return-to-origin in her early twenties is fraught with hardship. Kenya is no place for short skirts (or the women in them) and signs of social progression and autonomy are nowhere to be found. What’s more, she is a foreigner among the prevailing majority, doesn’t speak Swahili, and can’t seem to escape developing world problems. Of course there’s Hosea, the American love she left in search of identity and purpose. Imara succumbs to depression, causing her parents to sign her up as a volunteer at a Maasai Mara children’s orphanage. But the savanna offers no refuge. Having resolved that suicide-by-lion is her only way out, dark, supernatural occurrences derail her plans and result in a new purpose. ISBN13: 978-1548109837 Publication Date: 3 July 2017 Author name: K.A. Gendo Please accept my apologies, I could not upload the cover image as there doesn't seem to be an option for me to do it, or I haven't been able to locate it here. Kind regards, K.A.
