50% of U.S. Families Can Not Afford to Buy The Cheapest New Car

Recommended Posts

Half of the American's can not afford to buy the cheapest new car ($14,000); either they do not have the money to pay for it or the credit score to borrow the money.  This he argues is one of the reason 45 was elected.

YouTube definitely knows what videos to show me, because there was nothing this guy said that I disagreed with.  The only difference is that he has data (and research) support my observations.

Actually there were two other differences, the situation is actually a little worse than I thought, and there are actually solutions that can be implemented to fix all of this, but they would have to take place on a global scale.

I was listening to this video guy while working.  I think it is worth watching.  As I post this I'm 50% into the video and will watch it again when I can focus on it completely.

This is a good thing.

Maybe things will get SO bad economically for the majority of this nation that they will rise up and toss out the CURRENT economic system for a BETTER one.

As long as people are comfortable in their situtation most aren't going to want to change it.  Some will out of sheer curiosity, but most won't.

I've been saying for quite some time now that the ONLY reason the U.S. economy is still standing and operating is because they are flooding the nation with immigrants (mostly Latino and East Asian) to take over the positions many American citizens (of all races) are too mentally fucked up  or imprisoned to occupy anymore.

Now with  Covid-19 wiping out a large number of Latino and East Asian populations...they've run out of immigrants to keep things propped up.

I noticed that the guy in the video speaks of "democracy".
Neely Fuller Jr has warned us for years to listen to the language of people. Make sure to play CLOSE attention to it because that is often where the deception lies.

A good example is the term "Democracy" that you hear a lot of Caucasians both Liberal and Conservative like to use.

They claim it means a system of government ruled by the majority of the people but that's not practically true.

There is NO SUCH THING as a working Democracy on this planet.
There is NO PLACE on this planet where the laws are made and enforced by the majority of people in that society.

Except for failed states where there is no law or order, only the strongest survive, and armed men are running around raping the women, killing eachother, and gobbling up whatever few crumbs are still left from when there USED TO BE a stable government........the vast majority of of states are REPUBLICS where the laws are made and enforced by an ELECTED FEW (minority) of people in the society.

We should know that most of the time:

-When Caucasians talk of Democracy they don't really mean it, they are just playing their role in a more massive game of lies and deceptions.

-When people of color (African, Asian, ect...) speak of Democracy they are just talking out of their asses and mimicking what they HEARD Caucasians say.

What's the point?

The point is we.....as AfroAmericans....need to sit down and come up with OUR OWN form of government that works for us.
Democracy obvioulsy doesn't......because it doesn't exist.

To answer the guest's question about a website to "prove" what Yanis is saying:

Not every thing can be proven or even learned on some website.  Sure you can get a fact or two from some website, but the man gave a 90 minute presentation and the notion that all of the ideas and conclusions drawn can be proven on some website makes no sense to me, unless the site is www.everything-yanis-lectured-about-is-wrong.com.

Sometimes "proof" requires acquiring a level of knowledge that can only come through study.  I sure there is no website that can prove what Yanis discussed is true. The question strikes me a naive.

That said based upon my anecdotal observations capitalism has already destroyed democracy.  Capitalism reward greed look at the politicians running our country...

Yeah, forget democracy it never existed in the country.  Capitalism never served us either. It brought us slavery, jim crow, hyper incarceration, shitty schools, dead-end, low wage jobs, and an early death.

Democracy and Capitalism are two different topics. I don't think that Democracy is a good thing. 1. Because it requires an educated involved population. 2. Because education systems can be manipulated.

While there may be many challenges with Capitalism, I most definitely believe Socialism and Communism would leave us worse off. Looking around the world I see tyranny. In order to progress there needs to be a certain amount of stability and freedom. Looking at books like A Wealth Choice and Black Fortunes, I see that while we have had many challenges in this nation there are still more opportunities that exist today which don't exist elsewhere.

I saw someone mentioned our own economic systems. The challenge with that is when you look at books like Civilization or Barbarism one sees that most societies have fallen from outside influences and not from internal rot. There are plenty of books which describe the history of Black Economic Systems, none have really been able survive in a meaningful way today.

I don't think it's helpful for us to look at stats that say 50% of US families can not afford to by the cheapest cars. With the subprime auto market most people can buy a car, they have to pay a higher price. In terms of credit scores, that is why financial education is essential. Plus the statistic doesn't take in account the used car market. Isn't the real object to acquire independent transportation?

You're absolutely correct!
Fortunately, as AfroAmericans we actually DO have a measure of control over this nation!
Not as much as we SHOULD have or want, but more than we choose to use.
We should start exercising it instead of sitting on tree stumps waiting on instructions from Caucasians on what to do next.

I don't think that Democracy is a good thing. 1. Because it requires an educated involved population. 2. Because education systems can be manipulated.

and 3.
Under a theoretical Democracy, unless AfroAmericans are the MAJORITY of the population then they will only end up in a further state of oppression and possibly even extermination and all done lawfully since under a true Democracy the "majority" population has absolute power and authority over the other populations.

There are plenty of books which describe the history of Black Economic Systems, none have really been able survive in a meaningful way today.

When we study the history of Black economic systems INSIDE Western/Caucasian nations you must take into account that you're not looking at systems that are being allowed to operate in a naturally social fashion.  They almost always are highly manipulated and tampered with from the outside by the greater Caucasian society that often manipulates it and sabatoges it for failure.

It's like studying the lives and mating habits of dogs......by observing the behavior of HOUSE PETS instead of going out into the wild and observing the behavior of dogs that are in their natural habitat.

Like you said, in order for there to be progress you need a certain amount of stability and freedom....things that Caucasians have historically and to a large extent continue to deprive people of color of who live under their jurisdiction.

You raise some very valid points Troy. When referring to economic studies I was thinking of things like the Osiris Revolution describe in Civilization or Barbarism and also the Economic Plan laid out at the end of Destruction of Black Civilization. There could also be information gained by looking at some of the reports made by early European Colonizes. Of course you have to filter out the cultural bias. I am also reading Black Athena now. So many books, so little time. 🙂

Sure it makes the most economical sense to buy a used car, but the point is many people simlly can't afford to do something so basic as buying an inexpensive new car.

You are taking for granted how advanced the United States is. In the Laws of Success in 16 Lessons by Napoleon Hill, he postulated that the automobile would the ruin of many Americans because it would put them into undue debt. I have lived in the North East Urban Centers and I have been among the poorest of our pour. Having been on Welfare and Homeless as an adult. Buying a car by Black Americans in my part of the country (NJ, NY, Pa) is a matter of choice no finance. Most can put a full $14,000 aside to purchase a car if they want to. Divide $14,000 by 3. When you break it down you will see that even with bad credit a sufficient down payment can be made to buy a cheap new car. The first new car I bought was a Subaru in 1988 while I was still in college and didn't have good credit.

The first new car I brought was in 1984.  I struggled to make payments and drove without insurance (which was as much as the car note) for a few months. That car was ultimately stolen.

The last new car i brought i paid cash for and paid the insurance 6 months, for which the insurer gives you a 15 percent discount.

If you have to finance a car you pay a LOT more for it.  Today leasing is all the rage. It helps people get into vehicles they could not normally afford, but you actually never get to own it. That last car i paid cash for is still on the road, it is 9 years old and in great shape. I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off.

The problem is because people are poor and can afford a cheap new car they end up paying much more than a rich people do. Insurance rates and interest rates are also higher for Black men who live in NY, NJ, and PA. All states i have previuosly lived or worked.

Well number people will stay poor if they focus on buy new cars even if they are inexpensive. What the middle class does is buy a used car. That way they don't have to pay those finance charges. The second thing is to purchase vehicles for the purpose of increasing one's income. The biggest challenge isn't high insurance it's not focusing on how to manage money and climb the financial ladder. Right now I am driving ride shares and taxi. I would have never thought these thing would have brought in as much income has they have. But reading Black Fortunes I see that Blacks have moved from poverty to the middle class was in the service industries.

I only use the term middle class for convenience. I don't believe America has a class or caste system. I think those are mental hold overs from Europe and Asia.

Not to get into the middle of the conversation but I had to say........

The second thing is to purchase vehicles for the purpose of increasing one's income.

This is excellent advice!

If you're going to spend thousands of dollars on something you should try to use it as an INVESTMENT.
Instead of simply using it as a source to get to work and back, use it to HAUL MATERIAL, as a TAXI SERVICE, or as a MEDICAL TRANSPORT SERVICE.....something that will generate income.

Too many of our people treat cars as STATUS symbols; objects purchased by people with low self esteem in hopes that they will increase their personal value in the eyes of others.

If I lived on the East coast I probably wouldn't have a car UNLESS I had a business that demands one.

It occurred to me years ago that CAR OWNERSHIP much like HOME OWNERSHIP was probably originally meant for RICH people who could afford to purchase and maintain them without financial hardship; but mortgages and car loans tricked middle class and poor people into trying to maintain an appearance of prosperity and ended up in a lot of debt and financial ruin.

President Obama is guilty of this with his "Cash for clunkers" scheme that instead of giving people cash actually tricked a lot of AfroAmericans into getting into MORE debt.

Whether it's a new car with an expensive car-note or a used car with thousands of dollars in repair bills.....on top of the thousands of dollars a year spent on gas and insurance....most vehicles are designed to EAT UP your income!

It's just part of a the greater strategy that began 60 years ago with the closing down of the factories in the cities to try to turn AfroAmericans from PRODUCERS who were manufacturing and making a lot of money - to CONSUMERS who spend the little money they do have and end up going into debt purchasing a lot of what they don't need.

Collectively yes.
Individually, this is not necessarily the case.

I'm sure you've worked on enough jobs to assess people and realize that MOST aren't even qualified to be managers....let alone Owners of a business which initially takes more focus, discipline, and dedication to delivering service to the customers than management.

It's been my observation that most people aren't "entrepreneur material".  Most  just want to put their little time in at work, get their check, and spend it on securing basic necessities and abusing whatever substance of their choosing.   That option should be provided to them BY those relative minority of us who DO love dedicating our time and energy to keeping establishments operating and providing products and services.

@Pioneer1 true, but that also means these people will never be wealthy (save a winning lottery ticket).

And that is cool because most entrepreneurs will not be wealthy either.

But hourly wage earners, scraping by pay check to pay check, will never be wealthy on top of it being a stressful way to live.

I know more people who have stroked out and died during this pandemic that i know who have died from Covid19 and I believe stress had a lot to do with it...

I know more people who have stroked out and died during this pandemic that i know who have died from Covid19 and I believe stress had a lot to do with it...

I remember you saying a while back that you lost about 5 people you knew personally to Covid19 (and that was a couple months ago so I'm not sure if that toll has risen) and now you're saying you lost even MORE people to other problems.

On top of the stress this pandemic is causing, a lot of people are dying from serious medical conditions that are going untreated because either many doctor's offices have closed or many are afraid of going to the hospital.  Some people may have cancer or heart conditions and have stopped going to get check-ups out of fear and have succumbed to the diseases for lack of care.  I think that's one of the biggest scandals.
How many people have died of OTHER causes because all of the attention is being given to Covid 19?

But to your point about wealth accumulation.....

*Keep this just between you and me....lol.

The point is NOT to make the majority of the population wealthy, but to keep them relatively comfortable and content while they continue to work.

If most people were wealthy they WOULD NOT WORK, and society would collapse for lack of an adequate labor force willing to perform the necessary duties to keep it going.

Most people aren't PROFESSIONALS who love what they are doing regardless of the pay.

Most service workers like hotel maids, garbage collectors, truck drivers, ect only show up to work because they HAVE TO to keep the money coming in and the bills paid.  Many of them, as soon as they hit the lottery and come into a big sum of money usually QUIT their jobs (for a time atleast) to enjoy their money.   Which tells me that if they were wealthy and had enough money to last them most would NEVER do these jobs again.

The economic leaders of society have learned long ago that in order to keep society running you give people just enough to keep THEM running but constantly working to keep the money coming in....lol.

I agree.
I believe that the ideology of White Supremacy is not only a very powerful motivator for most Caucasians......but it probably is MUCH MORE powerful than the desire for wealth itself!

How else can we explain so many TRULY poor (not just actors) Caucasians who would rather remain in a state of poverty and support policies and politicians who they know will keep them in that state, rather than support policies and politicians who would help EVERYONE improve their conditions in society?

Their allegiance is to "the system" and it's maintenance, and they are RELIGIOUSLY  against any disruptions of it even if those disruptions would work in their favor and benefit them.

Otherwise, what keep jeff Bezos at it?

Perhaps a more accurate way of putting it is WHO is keeping Mr. Bezos at it?

If there's anything you've learned from watching politics.......
If his name and picture are out in public and we know who he is, you best believe there are those who are MORE wealthy and MORE powerful behind him backing him up and pushing him out as their front man for the public to focus on.

I'm sure most people, even white ones, would choose personal wealth over maintaining an antiquated system of white supremacy.

I don't, for a microsecond, believe that the white homeless people I see in every city are actors or people taking one for the team, to maintain white supremacy. That is absurd on it's face. Is that what you are learning from  Neely Fuller?

White Supremacy isn't antiquated, it's alive and quite strong.
The reasons why you don't believe that some Caucasians would rather live in poverty and MAINTAIN White Supremacy rather than selling their own out and living in comfort is because you don't understand how White Supremacists think.
They think like ANTS....willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of maintaining the system.

That's why a book was written about 20 years ago called "What's Wrong With Kansas?" that questions why so many Caucasians in America SEEMINGLY routinely vote against their own best financial interests.

Many of our people are so selfish many of them don't even want to sacrifice themselves for their OWN CHILDREN let alone their entire race.

Homeless Man Leaves Behind Surprise: $4 Million

walters_custom-78f9a0f5602c8599c87d2386bb1791c19f4b6cec-s300-c85.jpg

An article in the online newsletter of a Catholic mission in Phoenix revealed that Walters died two years ago at the age of 76. He left an estate worth about $4 million. Along with the money he left for NPR, Walters also left money for the mission.

But something distinguished Walters from any number of solvent, well-to-do Americans with seven-figure estates: He was homeless.

Belle knew him as a very well-informed man who could fix her air conditioning — someone she just assumed had a place to live. Then he told her that he had no home. She heard that he slept on the grounds of the senior center. He told her he ate at the hospital and used a telephone there or at the center.

For years, there have been rumors among the homeless downtown that a drifter in North Beach was sleeping in the gutter while he had all the money he needed in the bank.

It's true. That drifter is 68-year-old Lou Dinarde.

Dinarde is homeless, he often sleeps in the gutter or on the sidewalk, and he has plenty of cash -- a trust fund that at one point was worth nearly $700,000. He draws $2,500 a month from the fund plus $500 a month in Social Security.

Should I go on with MORE examples?
Because I can post them all day.

For DECADES people have known that SOME (not all) homeless people have plenty of money but CHOOSE to be homeless for one reason or another, this is nothing new.

The question is WHY?

And how many BLACK or BROWN people have you known or even HEARD OF with millions of dollars in the bank who "choose" to live on the street?
Again, you aren't a White Supremacist so you don't understand their thinking process.

@Pioneer1 please tell me an Aztec Myth or one of the Lenapi or the Picts. Chances are even if you could you couldn’t find 20 people could in your neighborhood. But say the name Thor. While they might not know the original stories they have an idea of the Character.

White Supremacy is the same. Jesse Owens comes to mind. As long as you say there is an Easter Bunny it will exist. Do you believe that person with lighter skin color is superior? You may have a preference for it, but in reality it’s not.

What makes a person Black? All humans originated in Africa, besides cultural difference they are one people. Even Yacub was an experiment performed on a black man to create the white man.  Oh another myth. I hope that demonstrates I know what myths are and how they live and die.

I constantly hear you gripping about White Supremacy, I don’t hear you mentioning Asian Supremacy or Mexican La Raza Supremacy.

please tell me an Aztec Myth or one of the Lenapi or the Picts.

Besides Quetzecoatl, I don't know any myths OF the Aztecs, Lenapi, or Picts.
However, I know that the Picts THEMSELVES....who were the original Black inhabitants of Western Europe...were mythologized as the "Trolls" and  "Leprachauns" of Scottish and Irish mythology to hide the Black origins of early Europe.

White Supremacy is the same. Jesse Owens comes to mind.

But White Supremacy isn't a myth, it's an IDEOLOGY and SYSTEM.

Jesse Owens being able to out run a German may have embarrassed Hitler but didn't  shake the Caucasian power structure one bit.
Hell, they INCORPORATE Black athletes and make money off of their talents...lol.

What makes a person Black? All humans originated in Africa, besides cultural difference they are one people.

If cultural differences were the ONLY differences between human beings....then even CULTURAL differences would not exist.

All cultures (diet, language, thought patterns, ect....) are a result of both the ENVIRONMENT and GENETICS of a particular group that help shape their behavior.

For example.......
If you study societies that have  POLYGAMOUS marriage structures (like West Africans)....you find that the men tend to have high testosterone genetics; and on the flip side societies with MONOGAMOUS marriage  structures (like northern Europeans) are societies where most of the men have low testosterone genetics.

It's the same with diet
Those cultures that have a lot of spicy foods usually are populated with people with a genetics for a wide variety of taste buds.

Your GENETICS influence the type of culture your people will practice because it influences your behavior, likes, dislikes, and tendencies.

Tanning is part of of many Caucasian cultures, but not part of ANY African culture....due to genetics of melanin.

So there are more differences between humans groups than JUST culture because something CAUSED those cultures to be different in the first place besides climate and environment.

I constantly hear you gripping about White Supremacy, I don’t hear you mentioning Asian Supremacy or Mexican La Raza Supremacy.

Because they don't exist...lol.

There can only be ONE group in charge and hold the position of most powerful at a time.
If White Supremacists are in charge and run the world....the Asians and Mexican CAN'T be supreme by definition.
One can have more power over the other....but neither are supreme.

Now, personally I don't like that term "White Supremacy" because ONLY The SUPREME BEING is "Supreme".
I prefer to use "Caucasian Domination" instead but most people haven't heard of the term.

Even Yacub was an experiment performed on a black man to create the white man.  Oh another myth. I hope that demonstrates I know what myths are and how they live and die.

Lol, it demonstrated to me as well as CONFIRMED for me what I thought but wasn't quite sure of....that you (not sure about Delano) didn't know what an actual myth was.

At any rate....
A "myth" is a SYMBOLIC STORY.

It's not a simple story or fable or tale.....but a type of CODED LANGUAGE constructed by a secret society designed to hide certain truths from the general public so that only those with the keys to DE-CODE the story will understand.

For example......
Adam and Eve is a MYTH that symbolizes the early makings of the Caucasian race.

Noah and the Ark is another MYTH written to symbolize the Caucasian coming down from the mountains.

Like most myths around the planet, they were written by priests and secret societies to HIDE certain truths from the public but reveal them only to certain initiates and adepts.
