J-Lo Super Bowl Half Time Show is why I don’t watch TV #NFL

Recommended Posts

I’m watching the Super Bowl with a digital antenna and with the sound muted. The signal isn’t good out here, so the picture freezes a lot. But it's good enough to see that the George Kittle offensive pass interference call was legit. And that this is a great game. But it’s surreal taking glances up at the screen with the sound on mute and seeing what you see.

The J-Lo video is apparently what [white] women do now to get back at [white] men in white supremacist society. The USA has been white supremacist since its inception: 400-500 years depending on your timeline. White males have always treated women like shit. Now that women got power under “#2Oh”, Obamas and Oprahs, they are showing out. J-Lo uses men, disproportionately black men, as her personal sex toys in performances; and they are all homos. That’s apparently the feminist view of how all men thought when using scantily-clad women in music videos in the 1980s odes and romance songs.

Women are supposed to be alluring and nurturing. Men are supposed to be responsible for their families financially and otherwise. Men simply like alluring women. It's wired. Guess that’s wrong these days? They seriously trotted out all those black fairies for that J-Lo performance. There’s also some black dude wearing a dress on Sesame Street now. It’s a requirement in 2020 for true black men to be armed and ready to go out. They are killing us from the inside-out, and we're basically a joke now.

I’m genuinely sickened by what I just watched at Super Bowl Half Time. It’s sad that so many black men voluntarily did that shit. Anyway, second half is about to kick off!

Well, I feel bad for you. I did not pay too much attention to the half time show.

I am a football fan and I was only interested in the game.  And it was great.

Except for that questionable offensive pass interference call on the 49's tight end George Kittle. Now, Kittle clearly did push Chiefs safety Daniel Sorenson off.  But normally, a penalty of that sort is rarely called.

And since it was the Super Bowl, I believe the refs should have let it go.

I don't think that penalty call would have much a difference anyway. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes found his courage and his O-line finally gave him some time.

Plus, 49er's coach Kyle Shanahan coached scared in the second half. The same way he coached the Atlanta Falcons offense into blowing a 28-3 lead against the Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

I hung with the fellas playing poker during the game. Most of the guys were explayers, coaches, and avid sports fans. I didn't really pay attention to the game and am not an avid fan of the sport. I could give two-sh-ts about the half-time show or the commercials. I was there for the fellowship.

I won at poker, won a bet on the coin toss, none of the boxes i brought hit, i drank more than is healthy, and stayed up way too late. All said it was a good evening 🙂

I was seriously expecting a lot more skin from both Shakira and J Lo, and was disappointed.
That was the only reason I tuned in.   After the so-called show I went back to my other chores.

I'm not a huge sports fan.
The only time I'm interested in sports is if I have money on the game....lol.
Other than that, I get far more enjoyment out of reading a good book or even watching pornography....lol.

You "love" the Knicks -- wow! That is because you are old enough remember Willis Reed and Clyde play AND you must be from the NYC area. There has been nothing to love about them in decades.

Troy, those were glorious days for the Knicks!  Yes, we lionized Reed and Frazier.

… “we have 25 seconds to the championship. …….
Red Holzman has to hold back some of his players…..

....And now the crowd starts a combination of “It’s all over now” and “We’re Number One!” (Marv Albert)

It’s all on this wonderful album which I played so much it became hopelessly scratched. I love the Knicks. New York Rangers, too.

Are you kidding? Don't you remember that firestorm following Janet Jackson's breast stunt at the 2004 Super Bowl? I thought the reaction was completely overblown.

I remember first getting internet (dial-up) in the late 1990s. Porn was pretty cool. After a couple years, weirder and weirder porn started appearing online. The day I accidentally clicked on a live show in Mexico of a woman and a dude having sex with a horse at the same time, that was all for me.

I was only watching the game because I was live-tweeting for a client. Even then, I watched with no sound.

@Troy and @Stefan I was a die-hard Knicks fan myself. But you two seem to be discounting the 1990s Knicks that got to the Finals twice. Patrick Ewing, John Starks, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason, and company were my favorite team of all time. That was back when you had to be a MAN to step on an NBA court, especially Madison Square Garden. I was heartbroken when they lost that Game 7 to the Rockets in the Finals. I remember just walking around for hours just starring at the sky. They got back to the Finals a few later led by Sprewell, Alan Houston, and Coach VanGundy. That team deserves A LOT of credit for getting that far as the eighth-seed and severely undermanned without Ewing.

Of course after 1999, the NBA outlawed hand-checking and forearm checking, and began allowing college (zone) defense. By 2005, they essentially banned all contact on the court and we have this video game basketball today that is unwatchable for me. Whoever makes the most 3-pointers wins today. That's why I don't compare players from pre-2002-ish NBA to this junk today. It's a completely different game. These players today would go home crying to their mom after one game against the Pistons, Knicks, Bulls, Pacers, Heat, or Jazz in the 1990s. They wouldn't last one quarter against any team in the 1970s and 1980s. It was a battle of attrition, a battle of wills. What is a flagrant foul today was either a regular foul or non-call pre-1999.

And speaking of NCAA and money, those boys REALLY should be getting paid for their performance, especially when their universities are making millions off of them.

I agree.
But what I find a little troubling is the LACK OF pushback from the American people after the networks all vowed to censor themselves and block out sexuality and nudity on television.
That was over 15 years ago and since then we've been seeing less and less skin on American television but more and more violence.

Having been to Europe where nudity is broadcasted openly on television but violence is shown at a minimum, I feel that some people are trying to steer the United States towards some sort of quasi-Middle Eastern type religious fundamentalist society where violence is welcomed but any hint of sex is forbidden.

Word.

Today it is, drive the lane and dish out for a 3. Lebron could have played in any era.

I think the game would be much more interesting if players came from (or at least lived) the cities in which they played. I hear old timers talking about seeing players in the neighborhood.  Shoot some of them even had jobs during the off season.

Of course they should be paid. Few are even educated.  The graduation rates at some schools are appalling.

I guess you don't watch HBO and have not seen shows like Game of Thrones -- HBO is all is all violence and sex, Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, Westworld, and on.  I treat HBO like a vice. I limit my drinking, eating of bad food, exposure to social media, and of course TV.

Lol......
I was talking about broadcast television like NBC, ABC, and CBS that occupies public air ways.

Networks like HBO and Netflix are more private so they can pretty much do what they want.
