Cardi B's New Video

Recommended Posts

Now I know from previous posts on the subject, that many women think these sort of videos are examples of female empowerment.  I still see it as exploitation, but I recognize this old fashioned sis gender mansplaining.

That said, how long can can this music remain popular?

The lyrics in this video are are the "clean" version.

Of course I know they will persist until they stop making money, but when are they gonna go out style -- sheesh!

"Make that pull out game weak," was a good line though LOL!

I'm surprised.
I wasn't nearly as offended by this video as I thought I'd be.

It's not the overt sexuality that I often find offensive, I actually LOVE it and welcome it as part of our original culture as people of color.  But Cardi B has a reputation for being ghetto and slutty and I didn't see TOO much of that in this video.
 That being said......

Nothing really to see.
I don't see what the big deal is or why so many people are making such a fuss about this video unless a lot of money has been put into media for promo.

It reminds me of Drake and how Caucasians who know almost nothing about Hiphop will talk about his videos and music simply because it's promoted in the media as THE current topic of conversation.

I've said this before and this is a good opportunity to say it again, it's not CLEAN GOOD SEXUALITY that  I have a problem with.  It's the "sluttiness" and ghetto behavior that so many AfroAmerican women are portraying in their music that I find offensive.
What's the difference?

These pictures should illustrate:

Cardi B In A Slutty Pose

While Venus's well toned body is seen nude and beautiful, Cardi is fully clothed but dressed in a little school girl outfit with her finger in her mouth as if to portray a minor under-aged girl....and grabbing her crotch....something most women don't do in public.
It's low class "ghetto" behavior.

Clean sexuality is regular "clean" sexuality like nudity, intercourse, flirting, ect.....which is enough for most Black men...or sex drive is strong enough that we don't need extra shit to turn us on.

Slutty sexuality has an unhygienic  ghetto low-class connotation to it that often involves violence.  Slutty sexuality often includes leather outfits, whips, insinuations of rape and abuse, even pedophilia,  making a mess of bodily fluids (including blood)....things that get most Caucasian men off.

When you have a weak sexuality you rely on SEXUAL PERVERSIONS because normal natural sex isn't strong enough to stimulate you.

This is what I have a problem with because too many AfroAmerican female entertainers....especially in Hiphop...are being encouraged to engage in THIS type of sexuality.

Often times they'll preserve the beautiful "clean" sexuality for the White women.
Show them in white lining...pearls...pregnant.......in soft lighting with soothing music.

Beautiful pregnant nude bride in wedding veil.: Royalty-free ...

Too often the Caucasian woman is portrayed as the clean "goddess" housewife to be adored....while AfroAmerican woman is portrayed as the slutty nasty whore to be screwed, pissed on, and then abandoned when you're finished.

Look at how the words "whores in this house" are repeatedly said over and over again.

Also, the ignorance is a constant problem......
She calls herself Megan Thee "Stallion"....but a stallion is a MALE horse.
A woman who goes around calling herself a "stallion" is like calling herself a "bull".
And anyone who ISN'T ignorant to this fact is going to question not only her sexuality but her intelligence as well.

Sorry i did not nean to focus on the video

It is the song's lyrics and this type of music in general that im surprised is still popular. The video below has the music with the regular lyrics.

Still, regarding the video, who is the target audience and what are they trying to communicate?

When is sex going out of style? When humans stop being human. I think people who are complaining are helping promote it. I saw Cardi B perform live in Newark. The video is more lively than she is on stage. She was truly tired.

I didn’t last a minute watching it. Reminded me of young Nicki Minaj.

Of course, but but sex is not what I was questioning.

@daniellegfny you don't have to copy people's entire posts -- just quote the specific thing you are responding to, or respond in such as why the it is obvious who or what you are addressing.  Your response above which was just 2 or 3 sentences, but they were buried in all the text you copied.

The dress itself isn't ghetto, it's her cocking her leg up and grabbing her crotch which is vulgar, low class, and ghetto.

The dress is even worse, because it's a play on pedophilia tendencies.

That type of school dress is usually what underage school girls wear.

You seem to know nothing of culture of Manga and Anime. I am not sure if you are a writer, reader or social agitator. You currently demonstrate limited knowledge of the current American/Global cultural scene.

These two items are having a major effect on the world because they form part of the Gaming Ecosystem. The gaming ecosystem combines the music, movie, writing and entertainment industries. You are being influenced by people you didn’t even know existed and you think it’s the White Man.

You are funnier than Elijah Muhammed and the younger Malcolm X. You are a perfect example of what to look for if you wanted a standard to identify how a person is trapped in an old paradigm.

The Japanese are screaming at you and you don’t see or hear it.

Yeah well...there's a reason for that, homie.

Well YOU are the perfect example of who to contact if I'm ever in the mood for some Japanese Anime porn.
But until then...bye Daniel.

It's has been brought to my attention that their are virtually NO MEN in this video that has been promoted to heavily by the media!

So you have two AfroAmerican  (Cardi is Latina but still has African ancestry) women doing a "sexy" video that features NO MEN.
That doesn't promote Black love between men and women, only Black love between women!

And the song isn't that great, so I wonder why the main-stream media....which hasn't really cared too much for Rap or Hiphop in general...wants to give THIS video so much attention?

You even have a so-called Conservative Caucasian talk-show host named Ben Shapiro focusing on it and reading lyrics from it on his show!

Welcome to America.

Though the white guy's agenda is to critique modern feminism, and I'm concerned about how Black women are portrayed in mainstream media, my assessment of the video does not differ very much from his.  This video belong on a porn site -- not available to any kid with a wifi connection.

Are young white women portrayed in this fashion for mainstream media?

Yes, some of them are but there are SO MANY  Caucasian women in the media with so many variant archetypes that the small percentage who ARE portrayed in this manner have less of an impact on the youth.

Look Madonna.
She was raunchy and hyper sexual, but she was looked at a devilish alternative that only fringe elements of Caucasian society dared to follow after.
You didn't see half of little white girls growing up wanting to be like her and all of the female singers trying to imitate her like a Cardi B or Nicki Minaj.

With Caucasians, you get a variety rather than just a single STEREOTYPE

I have TWO examples of prominent Caucasian women who are freakier than Cardi:

Madonna and Miley Cyrus:

As I said, there is no shortage of raunchy sexually explicit Caucasian women.
But there are so many OTHER types of Caucasian women to compensate for them that they are no more than small percentage of the general.

@Troy you are on autoAttack mode I didn’t post the video. I said look at the Super Bowl half-time show. And I have seen enough videos on Spanish videos that are sexual suggestive. I don’t care about Cardi B she’s a corruption. I don’t care to view everything through a racial lens.

I care about how do we better market positive images.

Lol @ the reaction of the Sistaz in the audience!!!!

They're like,  "Oh HELLLLLLL NAWWW!"

Those girls dancing look to be clearly under 18 and it's not something I would endorse.
The question I have is why is it that so much of society outraged at a bunch of teenaged girls doing sexually suggestive dances but aren't JUST AS IF NOT MORE outraged at videos of children even younger than them going to the gun range and learning how to shoot pistols and assault rifles!

Is learning how to be sexually provocative worse than learning how to take another human's life?

Mary Olohan (author of the tweet) must be another right-wing Conservative hypocrite.

I say that because being the racists they are they love using AfroAmerican based music or  behavior as examples when making their arguments of cultural degeneracy.
She also uses the term "our culture".

To understand exactly what CULTURE she and other Conseravatives are talking about you must understand the basic psyche of the Caucasian mind.
When Caucasian Conservatives talk about "our culture" and how "our culture" is declining, they aren't talking about morality or even religion.
They mean just what they say...THEIR culture!
THEIR cultural values include racism, violence, and anti-sexuality.

If anyone is interested I'd be glad to go into deeper details as to why this is, or I can just leave it here.

It depends on the PURPOSE of teaching them.

I don't think you should be teaching children under 12 how to handle guns.

They may be able to handle the MECHANICS of guns and shooting, but aren't old enough to understand the consequences of death and injury to themselves and others.

Again, you live in a Caucasian based culture where the values are PRO-violence and ANTI-sex.
The same so-called "Conservative" Caucasians will jump up and down and scream over girls in hot-pants doing suggestive dances but clap and cheer if those same girls strapped up pistols to their waists, went to a rifle range, and started a shooting gallery.

Caucasian children going to gun ranges help them gain more experience hunting down and targeting YOU.

If you are silly enough to "cheer" that on....I don't know what to say.

It's like the Bugs Bunny cheering on Elmer Fudd.

Blacks learning and going to gun ranges will serve to keep them out of gangs.

I support AfroAmericans learning how to practice good gun safety but that's a bit of a reach, don't you think?

One has little to do with the other.

If a kid is living in a gang infested neighborhood and is going to join a gang.....learning how to shoot will only HELP him become better at shot and kill people more efficiently.
Again, one has little to do with the other.

It does sound like you don't understand why people join gangs. Giving these brother access to weapons and teaching them to shoot would have resulted in more deaths. I'm old enough to remember when dudes fought with their hands...

What type of environment do you live in where you feel you have to carry a gun for self defense? I hope you can move to a safer neighborhood.

@daniellegfny I'm truly sorry you feel that way about this country.

I've lived in several American cities and have visited every state and virtually all the major cities. Despite my numerous complaints, this country has a LOT going for it.

The physical beauty and diversity is unparalleled. The place is, despite your beliefs, safe, and we enjoy freedoms other countries simply don't have -- though many of us take for these for granted or abuse them.

I hope you never have to pull out your gun on someone ... the reality is that you almost certainly won't have to. Those who do are, more often than not, making a grave mistake.

what did I say bad about America?

You implied that America was so dangerous that you need a gun to survive in it.

I don’t even own a gun so I don’t know what he is talking about.

I do have an NRA membership, it doesn’t shoot bullets.

There are a lot of safe places all over America in general....but I don't understand how a person can drive Uber/Lyft/Cab in the New York area and NOT have a gun.
Especially the way Conservatives have been ranting and raving about how much crime and violence is out of control now a days.

And my comment is not a slight of America. Gun Ownership is our constitutional right. I just need to move to another state for a gun

Illegal????????

Are you F#@&ING SERIOUS?

All of the people I know who do Lyft and Uber on the side and NOT ONE of them mentioned this to me until you did!

I'm going to have to have a talk with a few of my partners.....unless they just don't obey the rules and pack anyway, lol.

That has to be one of the CRAZIEST policies I've heard!

That pretty much puts a bull's eye on the backs of the drivers because criminals KNOW they aren't going to have any powerful weapon to fend them off.
I know you guys don't use cash but it still sets you up for other types of robberies and assaults.

I'd obey the LAW if they said don't carry but I wouldn't give two damns what UBER or LYFT told me to do!

Them Germans and British (I guess that's where those services are located) could kiss my  ass trying to tell ME how to protect myself way over here in America....lol.
Some spoiled kids sitting behind a computer trying to tell drivers NOT to protect themselves????
Maaaaann............

You just illustrated the problem of the bureaucratic state. What people are calling systemic racism is really not attitudinal or cultural it lies in the residual regulations that need to be pruned from all levels of government. They are the tinder that is helping America to burn. This is why the principal of removing two or more regulation for each new one is an important process in multiple ways.

Absolutely.

What people are calling systemic racism is really not attitudinal or cultural it lies in the residual regulations that need to be pruned from all levels of government.

Ok, stop....stop.....
I was agreeing with you for a minute but then you had to get "funny style".

Systemic racism is REAL.
Excessive regulation in government is a common TACTIC used to maintain it.  Religion, education, and other institutions use similar methods to maintain it also.

I've said before that the Constitution was written primarily FOR Caucasian men and the rest of the law written for everybody else.

This is why the principal of removing two or more regulation for each new one is an important process in multiple ways.

I actually agree.
Infact, I think it should go further than that and EVERY municipality from the Federal down to the Local should do a complete re-evaluation and overhaul of ALL of their laws to see which ones line up with the U.S. Constitution and then get rid of the laws that don't.

For a person to be convicted of a crime, do their time, and let out with half of their Constitutional rights stripped away from them is a crime in and of itself.

Hell, if someone is SO bad that when they get out of prison you don't think they should be able to vote, own a gun, or get a job....then why the hell did you let them out in the first place???

Either he's PAID his debt or he hasn't.
