What Happened to Brown Skinned Native Americans?

For those who think that's ridiculous.....
Look at what happened to brown skinned Native Americans:

Native Americans of the 1800s

Home

"Native Americans" today.

Pioneer's comment struck me, because I have noticed this too.  Just a couple of days ago I watched a documentary on the Smithsonian Channel, Battle of Little Big Horn. I visited the site of the battle, for I find what as happen to the indigenous peoples of America incredibly appalling.

Interestingly, the "Native Americans" speaking in the documentary all presented as white.  Not one looked like the Native American's we see in photos from the 19th century!  For you Trekies out there, It was like looking at  Klingons from the original Star Trek series and the Klingons in the films -- you are like, WTF happened to these people?!

I mean we know what Sitting Bull Looked like:

Sitting Bull

But who the heck is this guy?

2020nativeamerican.jpg

This always always puzzled me. I mean when you visit a reservation (I recently visited the Navaho Nation), you see people who like Native Americans from the pictures, so I know they exist. But when you go to casinos owned by "Native Americans," you always wonder, well where the heck are the Native American owners?  I just assumed they were in the back counting all the money they making...

https://aalbc.com/books/bookinfo.php?isbn13=9780806163314I started reading this book about the Tulsa massacre, Tulsa, 1921: Reporting a Massacre by Randy Krehbiel.  Which gave me some insight which supports exactly what Pioneer was describing as "White Supremacists are sneaky."

The infamous Trail of Tears ended in Oklahoma. The people who survived the death march were dumped onto land that was not viewed as particularly valuable or even hospitable. Tulsa 1921 goes on to explain, that oil was discovered on this land.  Once this happened white men would marry the Natives American land owners. These women would be killed or disappear. Leaving ownership to the white men who ultimately became exorbitantly wealthy.  Devils.

Oil made Tulsa Oklahoma one of the most prosperous cities in the country.  It was home to perhaps the most prosperous Black community, which would later be known as The Black Wall Street. Most adults now know Tulsa was one of the worst, of many American massacres of Black people. Devils.

Now if Black people do get reparations in the form of significant financial remuneration. This is of course highly unlikely, but lets continue with the thought experiment: Do we think Black women would be more or less desirable marriage material by white men?

When financially successful Black people decide to marry white people, it has to be viewed in the context of our American history.

Another reason Tulsa was prosperous was because it was an "independant" territory that wasn't considered the North or the South.  It was the open "wild" west with very few laws or regulations.....which attracted a lot of people of ALL races.

If you were catching hell on a Southern plantation or in a crowded New York tenament....you could save up your money and a group of you could caravaan out to Oklahoma, Nevada, Wyoming, or some of those other areas and start an entire new life!

Now if Black people do get reparations in the form of significant financial remuneration. This is of course highly unlikely, but lets continue with the thought experiment: Do we think Black women would be more or less desirable marriage material by white men?

Perhaps.
But the need to seek a Black liaison will diminish because a lot of Caucasians will identify AS Black in the very near future.

In following the theme of this thread.......
What they (The White Supremacists) are doing right now is psychologically preparing the public for TRANS-RACIALISM.

Just like it's politically correct to change SEXES when we thought one's sex is pretty set in stone.......it will be the same with race.

It STARTED with stealing the identify of the Native Americans for $5 (5 dollar Indians) a century ago, but that was just the beginning.
They are training the public so that when you start seeing Caucasians calling themselves "Black" and taking advantage of Affirmative Action, quotas, and Reparations you won't complain but rather accept it!

All of those Caucasian women they've recently caught PRETENDING to be Black working in these Universities and Protests were just dry-runs for a greater plot.

Infact, I can see right now a smart group of Caucasians IDENTIFYING as "Black" and then pushing a Reparation's Movement to reign in the cash, while real Black folks are....some where out of the way.

I know you don't believe in different races, but you DO realize that most Mexicans are of the same "racial group" as most Native Americans....right?

Where as the British in the United States and Canada forced Native Americans on reservations, in Mexico and other parts of Central America the Spanish killed off many of the men and raped the Native American women and girls...producing Mexicans, Guatamalans, and these various other nationalities.

Sure, if you say so.  "Race" is in the eye of the beholder.

The reality is most of the Native Americans here were killed here too

Again when you conflate nationalities with your brand of racial designations you start to confuse me. Every national boundary created by Europeans in the Americas and Africa have nothing to do with the indigenous people already there (or the so called race of those people).

I support Native Americans, not because I have any of their DNA. But because I am a human being.

What?!  Stefan are you white by any chance?  If not what you wrote some across as something a white guy would say.  Now I know you probably see nothing untoward about what you wrote.

The fact is that you actually share virtually ALL of your DNA with Native Americans!  You are human being and so are they.

America will never pay, in cash, what we are owed. That simply is not something white folks will put up with.

Believing this will ever happen and spending the energy trying to make it happen is futile.

Now they might pay us what they owe, with a one way ticket back to Africa. That would be much more palatable to the White racist, and white folks in general, I'm sure.

Reparations and a ticket to the Motherland, I'd take that offer today.

I've been on a binge, reading the journals from the Spanish conquistadors when they first encountered Natives and all of them speak on how they were either dark, or brown. The Yemassee from Florida were said to be my color (I'm dark brown). When I went to Oaxaca in Mexico, all the natives were my color (and very short. Like incredibly short but that's outside the point). George Catlin did many paintings of Native Americans in the early 1800s. Although many had European contact for quite some time by then, some of his paintings still show some of them as being very brown and or dark.

"Now if Black people do get reparations in the form of significant financial remuneration. This is of course highly unlikely, but lets continue with the thought experiment: Do we think Black women would be more or less desirable marriage material by white men?" - I think about this often and believe so. I also believe we would see A LOT more people claiming a black grandmother or whatever, who were shunning us before then.

I knew a Native American girl (her grand parents had went through the whole process of being "assimilated" by the Europeans, taken from the home etc) who had a kid by a mixed black guy (he was light skinned). Her older family members were VERY concerned that the baby would come out with dark skin. That also explains a lot of where their color went.

The attached image is a Mojave guide from 1871. I am in central California, not far from the Mojave Desert and know a "Mexican" guy who looks JUST like that. Color and all. He has to have some Mojave in him. I'll ask him next time I see him.

You may be just joking, but actually that's TRUE.

Neely Fuller Jr. teaches that White Supremacists do a lot of harmful and deceptive things simply for FUN and to test their smarts.
Just like some White men love hunting and killing animals even though they don't need the meat.

Some White folks just love to trick and fool Black people to test their own smarts and play mind games....for fun.
Pretend to be Black online...or put on make-up and pretend to be Black for FUN just to see how many Black people they can trick.

Sometimes it's business.
Sometimes it's for FUN.

Now they might pay us what they owe, with a one way ticket back to Africa. That would be much more palatable to the White racist, and white folks in general, I'm sure.

And give away OUR country (not the government, the land) ?
Hell no!

I'll go back to Africa for DUAL CITIZENSHIP and land ownership.
But if these clowns think they're going to DRIVE me or any other AfroAmericans away from the land our ancestors fought for, shed their literal blood, sweat, and tears in, and even died on......they are out of their goddam minds!

Try to make OUR people leave America and their won't BE an America left for anyone else to enjoy.....lol.

Whatever people are left will have time to think about the severe mistake they made as they row their sorrowful  asses away from the smokin' ruins to Greenland or the Carribean.

"Damn dude....
I didn't think it was gonna
be that serious.
Maybe we should have done things
another way.  Like maybe offering them
atleast a piece of the land."

"Jeez...
Just shut up and row.
I don't feel like talking about it
right now."

On top of the naturally dark skinned Native Americans......
There are actually AFRICAN (Black) people hear in the Americas who had been hear living among the Native Americans for thousands of years.
When Cortez and Columbus came here they talked about seeing entire villages and groups of "Negroes" among the Natives.

Infact, the Olmec were said to have been Black.

There are giant heads of African soldiers in Southern Mexico

When I went to Oaxaca in Mexico, all the natives were my color (and very short. Like incredibly short but that's outside the point).

I know what you're talking about.

I used to ride the Greyhound bus a lot from Detroit to the West Coast for adventure and vacation and would from time to time run across Native American reservations in Arizona and New Mexico.
The Natives would get on the bus and the adults were so small TWO MEN could easily hop up on and sit on one seat!

Small people...but strong as hell.
Native Americans (the real ones) are ORIGINAL people just like Africans.

Mel Gibson may be a racist, but he did give us something we can appreciate..............

A movie I recommend EVERYBODY see if they haven't already is a great movie called APOCALYPTO.

Watch Apocalypto Here!

It's about life among the ancient Mayan Indians of the Mayan Empire before they were colonized by the Spaniards.

They used REAL Mayan Indians from southern Mexico to make the movie.
And pay attention to how dark and brown so many of them are with broad noses, thick lips, and straight jet black hair.

Those are ORIGINAL people...like us.

And the coolest thing about the movie is that not only is it NOT in English, there aren't even any subtitles....but it's so powerful that STILL can keep up with what's going on and love it!

Never knew you were a slave. Also there are plenty of darker skin people of the various nations running around. Go to a POW Wow and you will see that. They have a big one in Long Island.

Ok get caught up in emotions and miss nuance. You need to know what people are saying. Interpretation of actions lead to misunderstanding.

Now, that is a stupid statement; too stupid to even contest.

@Pioneer1 I saw Apocalypo recently, I actually own the DVD, there are subtitles.  What bootleg version did you watch LOL!

No, YOU need to know what people are saying in order to avoid misunderstandings (and the way YOU reject facts, something tells me that's still not enough...lol).
However I'm perceptive enough to read body language and learn patterns of behavior that helps me to relate and communicate with people to a certain degree despite the language barriers.

When I was younger and frequently took cross-country trips on the Greyhound bus I used to meet woman after woman who couldn't speak ANY English but I still was able to get next to them and "snuggle up"...lol.

Why?

Because I understood human nature, body language, and had common sense.
These things are UNIVERSAL despite race and culture.

Hmmmm....
Maybe because when I watched it I wasn't in an English speaking country.
I was in Belgium when it came out.

I liked it so much I saw it several times and none of them had subtitles.

In the above link I provided IT doesn't have subtitles either.

Lol......
Bootleg or not, the quality and scenes look exactly like I remember them when I actually saw it in a theater.

You know how a book often seems to be better than if they make a movie out of it?
Well perhaps for me Apocalypse would be better WITHOUT the subtitles distracting me....so I can focus on the action of the movie.

Anyway......
How did you like the film?

Like I said, they used REAL Mayan Indian actors and actresses.

I liked the film and appreciated seeing actors who at least to my eye fit their parts.

I'm not sure the Maya today look the way they looked before the colonizers arrived.

Most of the brown-skinned Mexicans who you see in the United States are primarily descended from THOSE people.

Most of the Caucasian Mexicans descended from the Spanish are STILL in Mexico ruling in positions of wealth and power.
