The bodies of Yvon Buissereth and his unidentified nephew were found Saturday afternoon in the community of Laboule. That is near Pelerin, where President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated in his private home in July last year. Buissereth, director of Haiti’s Public Company for the Promotion of Social Housing, and his nephew were traveling in a government-issued vehicle and were found inside the charred car, Lafontant said. He said a gang trying to control the area is likely to blame. “It was a terrible incident,” he said. The Ti Makak gang, which means “Little Macaques,” is fighting with the Toto gang over control of that area. Gangs in the capital of Port-au-Prince and beyond have become more powerful and waged violent turf wars since Moïse was assassinated. Buissereth and his nephew were killed while driving on a road that a growing number of Haitians are using to avoid the Martissant area, which connects the Port-au-Prince with Haiti's southern region and is controlled by warring gangs that have killed or injured dozens of civilians in that area. Prime Minister Ariel Henry condemned Buissereth's killing as a “barbaric act” by armed gangs in Laboule. “His assassins, as well as all the other criminals who sow mourning in the country, will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and must respond for their ignominious acts before justice,” he wrote Sunday in a social media post. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Official: Gang kills, burns former Haitian senator, nephew - ABC News (go.com)
ProfD
I understand the dysfunction that plagues Black folks but I'm still disappointed that we aren't doing any better in our own countries

Pioneer1
They did the SAME THING in Iraq. You had a strong man (yes a dictator but.....) who kept law, order, and relative peace in the nation and when they got rid of him the nation descended into chaos and lawlessness. That's the modus operandi of these Western powers through out history. Causing destabilization in order to secure power.

Causing destabilization in order to secure power. Absolutely. Divide and conquer and spreading imperialism has been working for hundreds of years. I'm still amazed by how France pulled that sh8t off leaving Haiti indebted to them for over 200 years and counting. The US allows a few Haitians to come here but otherwise...benign neglect. The way border patrol on horseback turned the Haitian refugees away several months ago showed us everything we need to know about what they think of black folks. Meanwhile, 100k Ukrainian refugees show up to open arms; hot cocoa, food, blankets, clothes, housing and a monthly stipend to make ends meet. 1
Pioneer1
I blame the Black lawmakers for this and I also Black the Black citizens of this nation for ALLOWING the border patrol to practice such racist policy. First of all if you look at many if not most of the border patrol agents along the southern border....most are Latino. That right there is a conflict of interest and if this nation was SERIOUS about properly enforcing the immigration laws and keeping out ALL illegal immigrants (as opposed to allowing the light skinned Latinos in and keeping the dark skinned migrants out) then they wouldn't allow such a disproportionate demographic of agents at the border whom they know would be sympathetic to the migrants who look like them trying to cross. On top of that, when the Black people in states like Texas and Louisiana saw what was going on with our Ayitian brothers and sisters, THOUSANDS of Black folks should have shown up at that scene to protest and show support for our Ayitian family. A lot of the problems Black people face in the United States as well as around the globe comes from lack of unity and short-sightedness......which again....in most case is a product of low intelligence.
