One of AALBC's best kept secrets..........

Recommended Posts

-is our brother @richardmurray...lol.

I've been seeing your name on posts for YEARS but didn't know you were such a deep thinker when it came to race and politics until the past couple months.

It seems you only posted in some of the other forums but almost never posted in the culture-race-economy forum (just like I rarely post on any other forum but this one) until recently.

I'm glad we have an opportunity to interact more with our brother but I'm curious; what prompted you to "expand your horizons"....so to speak???

:) thank you @Pioneer1

I don't think I say much. Alot of reiteration or common knowledge.

What prompted me was my goal when I first got on AALBC that has never changed. I want this site to be a better place for Black people online, as I define them, to interact and act through. I am busy so I don't always have time and I focused on trying to make content. But I realized my goal for AALBC needed me to be better engaged. I know AALBC has a big mountain to climb as big sites have far better resources and pay for high profile members but...

That's a worthy goal.
However both the intellect and desire for high-brow content has to increase in Black people.

Too many of our people have an appetite for garbage, juvenile and ridiculous entertainment instead of intelligent discussion.

@Pioneer1 sure, many of our people have an appetite for ridiculous entertainment. But that is not a black thing is all part of our (American) culture.

I also believe there is plenty of demand for more serious and intelligent conversation on the web. The problem is Black people generally go to white platforms for this and engage in a there, ala “Black Twitter.”

I always start a that we will seek out their platforms, put at the end of the day we desire their validation. We desire the validation because once we have it that is when the wealth and celebrity becomes possible.

The truth of the matter is, we don’t need their validation, but we give them the power. And I guess that’s the result of hundreds of years of indoctrination.

so if your goal is celebrity and money you go to tictok or Instagram. But if your goal is to actually support black people and our independence on the web you engage and support sites like AALBC.

 It really is that simple.

@Pioneer1 we will get there:) patience:)

@Troy not just indoctrination... slavery.

Overwhelming most Black people worldwide know slavery is far more than shackles. But I think most Black people in the USA ,unlike Black people in other countries which are majority Black in populace or majority non Black absent any testimony to being multiphenotypical in nature < ala all men are created equal> , have the problem of two choices.

  • a greater black community of the black people in the usa, that needs separation from the usa or the whites in it
  • a usa that has black people interwoven in it, that needs integration in the usa or side the whites in it

This is what Garvey to me comprehended, coming from jamaica, which has a population mostly black but is still under the boot of whit english people. He realized Black Americans living on an island with mostly Black Americans couldn't escape the yoke of their enslavement even without legal slavery.

His solution was to go somewhere where being black is so common and saturated that a reassertion or rebirth can occur in black groups or black individuals.

The problem is, , as he learned in jamaica before he came to the usa. Black Americans want to stay in America. Black people in brazil/colombia/mexico/cuba/trinidad/usa/canada for all the abuse they get from whites near or far, they want these places. In the same way the Zanj or non indigenous Black Asians <for those that don't know indigenous asians of south east asia or australia are black, not african, but black> want to stay in India/bangledesh or similar.

YEs, black people have been enslaved the world over by whites, but, rightly or wrongly most of us don't want to leave the places our forebears were enslaved or we are abused.

Now, the simple answer to Black Americans or most in the Black global populace to leave the countries of their strife is what whites had in the american continent itself. a place to start fresh , regardless of killing native people or enslaving others. Unfortunately, no new lands exist and yes, the space race is going on.

But, barring a new land. Most Blacks miserable in various countries are caught to the two problems stated before. And that started from slavery itself. YEs, the enslaved is indoctrinated to the slave owner, but this is unwilling. And the burden to later generations you can deem an indoctrination but I see it as a burden that Black people as individuals or groups have to settle in their own time. It can't be rushed. It must be dealt with freely.

To the internet, it is the same. I always offer Black people to this website but I have accepted it is unfair to demand Black people today to have some grandiose black pride.  Ask? yes. want? 100% but it can't be demanded. Cause our indoctrination was demanded in the first place. And besides, like the land we black folks need, it is up to people like me to do more than talk, or suggest. At the end of the day, if I had ten billion dollars and spent all of it on making a city for Black Americans <canada to argentina> somewhere in humanity, it will be done. It may sound unfair, but at the end of the day, what Black people need is someone to give a ton of money to our causes. That will solve things, maybe for not all black folk, but for many. I don't have the money.

@richardmurray, I keep reading you state basically that Black folks including AfroAmericans need to break free from the shackles of white supremacy. I agree

As you've mentioned, Black folks in other countries and on islands are essentially being enslaved by white folks from afar. A bunch of them leave their home countries and come to the USA.

Then, there's Black folks who have a whole continent that is Africa. Yet, they don't totally control it either. A bunch of them also leave their home countries and come to the USA.

Yet, very few of those Black immigrants really wants to build and connect with AfroAmericans. In fact, many of them look down on AfroAmericans.

Black immigrants come to the USA and jump feet first into acquiesing to white supremacy under the guise of building a better life. Something they could or should have done in their home countries.

As I  mentioned in another thread, South Africa has a population of 59 million people. 55 million of them are Black.

Yet, there was a time when those 4 million white folks ran South Africa. One must ask the question...how were they able to do that.

We can discuss what Black folks need to do in order to break free from white supremacy from a diplomatic and philosophical perspective.

I have sprinkled it through some of my posts here but I try to remain civil/diplomatic on a public forum.

But, let me just type that for the record, so that there is no misunderstanding about where I'm coming from...

The reality is the only way Black folks around the world will ever be free of white supremacy is going to war against it.

Black folks have plenty of money if they pooled it. Black folks could have land too.

The problem is that Black folks aren't organized in their beliefs nor logistically.

Black folks do not have a security force or militia to protect us from those who wish to do us harm.

The tie that should bind us is our skin color and knowing that we're all victims of racism white supremacy.

Unfortunately, too many Black folks all over the world are waiting on a white savior to set them free.

I'm not one of those AfroAmericans waiting on a sky fairy. I'm trying to be diplomatic in dismantling the system of racism white supremacy. But, I'm also strapped up and ready for war if it comes to pass. 😎

@ProfD I only want to add, many black people are not ready or willing to go to war against whites. I think many Black people think of war against whites and see the many defeats in the recent past. I will say it isn't unfair from the larger black community to be led by example. A group of black people taking a militaristic stance against whites with success will do a lot to convince Black people the world over that war can be successful.

A war against white folks doesn't have to be a violent confrontation. Black folks can start by not giving money back to them.

Black folks have enough knowledge, talent and resources to build a parallel system and be completely self-sufficient.

Unfortunately, Black folks are afraid of more than being defeated in a war.

The fear of white folks and respect for them reduces Black folks to an inferior almost child-like position.

Then, there are those Black folks who believe the white man's ice is colder and will do whatever it takes to protect it. 😎

I'm glad you made that clarification.  A war against white folks, in this country, would include the police forces, the US military, and every racist group you can name, would be suicide.

This is obviously true.  Pan Africanism is so potentially powerful, but our best and brightest still want to work for a Facebook and Google and live in the west.

Look, we view going to Harvard more prestigious than going to Spelman.  We view being covered by, or writing for, a white publication better than being covered by or writing for a Black one.  We view winning an Academy Award more of an honor that winning an Image Award.

Why?

We will watch our daily newspapers turn into weekly and go out of business without batting an eye.  What was the lasty Black-owned magazine that you've subscribed too?  Even if magazines are passe, which web platforms do you support financially?

Here is the kicker, once white folks start supporting a Black business then here comes the Black support...  Am I wrong?

@ProfD Your correct , confrontation need not involve bloodshed, though war inevitably demands it...but part of those defeats in the past I talked about was non violent confrontations. From Tulsa to most scenarios in pre war between the states slavery. Consider, the black person enslaved on a plantation has a non violent relationship to whites and yet, was harmed mightily. The defeats  I spoke about in the past were not just violent ones.

The Black community in Harlem in NYC tried it numerous times before I was born with levels of success. But, all were defeated, and the reason was white power. And, today, many Black people in harlem scoff at Black people speaking about another nonviolent push when it describes something already tried.

Are you suggesting the Black populace in the USA can be completely self-sufficient from the white populace in the USA?

The fear Black people have in the usa to whites  comes from the defeats. I don't think the fear is unwarranted. I am not suggesting I have it. but I can accept Black people who do. It was earned through history.  Black people in the USA are willing to do a lot, in my view, but they need to see an example first, and that is the problem with many modern movements in the usa. They offer no proof of betterment. They want faith to something that may not provide any results in your lifetime. I Quote james baldwin, when will it happen, you promised my parents, then me, and now my nieces and nephews. He was referring to Whites who talk of change to blacks. But I argue, Black leaders in the USA have to answer such questions to , in modernity.

If someone believes another's ice is colder, then the best way to change their mind is to prove it. But if you can't prove it then how many minds will you change?

@Troy I will defend the blacks in the usa who want an armed attack against whites in the usa and say, it will not be suicide. Worse case is it will bring to near extinction blacks in the USA, but not suicide. The problem those blacks had and have is most blacks aren't willing to sacrifice their lives to such a venture.

Yes Black people do rate white institutions higher, but do the majority of financially wealthy blacks send their children to spelman ? Do black thespians who are financially safe or profitable or rich rate image awards more than the academy awards? In NYC, the rich black people in the city didn't and don't support the black newspapers with the vigor you speak of. Thus, why should the black fiscally poor think of spelman more than harvard, think of image awards over academy awards, support black media outlets over white ones when the black fiscally rich don't? LEad by example. This is why malcolm organized the nation of islam as he did. he comprehended, telling a fiscally poor man to join you is worthless when you don't show financial betterment yourself.

yes when they fail to get into Harvard. 😉

Yes generally Black institutions have less resources and are less wealthy than their white counterparts. But this is a self fulfilling prophecy, white people support white business and black people support white businesses.

when George Floyd was Murdered my business benefited, for a short time, from a broad base of customers. It was really remarkable to see what was possible.

@Troyhaha good one:)

Gi Fi Gi :)... for those that do not know see the film school daze to comprehend this joke

from 1776 to the 1980s it wasn't a self fufilling prophecy, it was the truth. It being that black business and the greater black community had lesser cause white people made it so, through all sorts of means. With Black communal failure in the usa from 1776 to 1980s < whether violent or nonviolent > after white power's application on black people, in violent or nonviolent forms, black people in the usa have a heritage of communal failure in the usa and developed a culture of individualism.

how do you convince a set of individuals that working together will work ? By example.  Individuals are willing to do something communal. But, it has to come to something, they want results. Telling them they need to be mentally changed or need to have epiphanies is unfair to the heritage I spoke of, which black people earned through surviving white people in the usa and the british colonies that preceded it.

Will I like most black people in the usa  to suddenly have an epiphany to communalism? yes. but I comprehend why they don't, all black people comprehend why they don't. We can only convince through example, through results. It isn't enough for a Black person to become president. It isn't enough for Black people to march with slogan'd t-shirts. Black people in the usa, like the native american in all earnest, warrant results to convince them, not talk, not philosophy, not pleading, not hopes, not dreams, not patience. I am 100% certain, results will bring black indiviudals into a communal fold. Outside that, hey will act as individuals in a system controlled by whites.

One of the problems with trying to get Black people collectively to support a more communal mindset and society is the fact that we know a lot of our people are lazy and would wait on the rest of the community to support them if they could.

Communalism works when nearly every able bodied adult is working and contributing.
But when you have half of the men working and contributing and the other half wandering around looking for something to "get into" and messing with the women instead of working....it creates a lot of friction and resentment.

Those who are working and contributing become resentful and bitter and feel taken advantage of; and those who AREN'T working and have no plans to work feel smart and "slick" like they've gotten over the "suckas" who are out there humping.

Capitalism does a better job of handing these decisions, making them largely the choice of the individual.

there will always be laggards any system will have to account for and presumably care for them.

Does Capitalism allow the individual to choose their own wages?

Does Capitalism allow the individual to decide how much they're going to pay for rent?

I don't think Capitalism necessarily gives the individual more choices than Socialism does.
Only if you are exceptionally intelligent and/or energetic in a Capitalist environment do you choices of success expand exponentially.

Absolutely, but giving us the choice of where we live.

Most of the inadequacies of capitalism occur because we practice a perverted form of rife with racism, cronyism, and greed.

Yes, people have three power to choose what they do.

Come on man, are you serious?

Are you telling me that most people in this society can simply wake up and CHOOSE their occupation at will?

No racial discrimination barring them from employment?

No sexist discrimination barring them from employment?

No criminal record that prevents them from a particular job?

No physical or mental disabilities limiting their employment?

Come on Troy....you know better than that....lol.

Absolutely, but giving us the choice of where we live.

Ever heard of RED LINING?

And aside from that, their INCOME also limits their choices of residence.

I agree.

I'm not anti-Capitalism.
I actually prefer a MIXED economy with some things socialized and others capitalized.  However we must keep things in perspective.

No. We don't get to wake up and choose an occupation at will.

A person's aptitude (intelligence) plays a part in determining their altitude (profession/occupation/career).

The 1st 18 years of one's life are usually formative. It's during those years that education, knowledge, skills and abilities are developed that determine what they can do in life.

Of course, it's up to the individual to apply themselves to becoming whatever they aspire and desire to achieve

There's no shortage of obstacles in a system of racism white supremacy. No doubt.

But, there are many self-inflicted gun shots i.e. lack of  preparation that keep people from becoming productive and/or reaching their full potential too.

There's plenty AfroAmericans working in every type of profession/occupation/career. The problem is that we don't own enough of it (capitalism).😎

You provided much food for thought.

Although how a person is reared in their first 18 years of life HEAVILY influences their abilities in life, it's still only a FACTOR and not the major determiner.

You know I'm big on INTELLIGENCE....lol.
And by "intelligence" I don't simply mean how smart a person is or how much they already know but their CAPACITY to learn.
I personally believe that if the CAPACITY to learn is limited or simply not there, it doesn't matter HOW a person is raised.....their future is still dismal unless a Miracle is provided for them.

How many people both you and I know who were born and raised in wealthy homes with 2 good parents who gave them everything they needed and most of what they wanted to get a good start in life, only for them to fuck it up by choosing to run the streets, join gangs, turn to drug addicts, ect....simply....because?

There are SEVERAL FACTORS to success in any society....Capitalist or otherwise.

You can even be very successful and prosperous under an oppressive Communist Regime!
Just ask Kim Jon Ill and his family....lol

Surely, several factors beyond intelligence determine the outcome of one's life (family, environment, education, self-esteem, drive, determination, opportunities and luck to name a few.

We have a responsibility as human beings to insure that those who need the most help get it. That includes those who have limited mental and/or physical abilities.

The choices one chooses to make is a different kettle.

Regardless of circumstances, if one has been provided enough nurture to grow and they know better but choose not to be productive...the onus is on them.

The blueprint for success has already been codified. Many AfroAmericans have worked it to positive effective in their lives individually. We just haven't translated it into ownership collectively i.e. wealth

The system of racism white supremacy is very real. It does not absolve AfroAmericans from doing whatever it takes to dismantling it.  Mastering capitalism is a step in that direction.😎

Of course your choices are restricted to your ability, but not that involuntary servitude is over, opportunities are more abundant than ever — despite the imperfections you mentioned and that I had previously acknowledged.

I see you're coming down closer to REALITY now by acknowledging that all of those "choices" you talk about are limited and restricted by multiple factors ranging from innate abilities to social injustices.....lol.

So much for "everyone can choose their own careers, set their own wages, and live where ever they want"........

I thought I was talking to Armstrong Williams for a minute....lol.

@Pioneer1 we do have choices man; some are not practical or realistic. some choices are down right stupid.

i can decide i want to be a professional basketball player but that would not be very smart. That does not mean the system is bad or that i’m being held back

Given our skills and the environment some  choices are better than others. the ones we make are up to us. That is the benefit of living in a relatively free capitalistic country. It is also the downside as many of us will simply make bad choices.

There is no such thing as "relatively free".
Either you're free or you're not.

I believe this nation is LESS RESTRICTIVE that many others, but "free"? No.

There's definitely no such thing as a "free market" society because if it's regulated in ANY way then it's no longer free.
Restrictions apply.

@Pioneer1
I argue , all of the Black people you say are working , need to stop feeling bitter or used or abused by Black people they feel are not working and focus more on communicating with each other and doing more in their smaller group.
I give the example below to troy.

@Troy
White jews are white but they work well in themselves. The key is not that white jews act or desire individualism. Individualism has fatal flaws for any individual. But, they comprehend that a subgroup can be effective in a group.
White jews work for their group in the white community. And they are disliked by other white groups, even today as the news clearly shows.

Yes, some people, not necessarily most, in the usa are trying to make a culture of individuals who are unbound by communal chains absent the one communal chain no human can eliminate and that is humanity itself. But some people, not necessarily most, in the usa want the usa to remain a place where one group is above all others. Who will win that war? I do not know.

@ProfD
As I stated in this very website. In NYC, white jews have private schools that have completely neglected white jewish children and yet, when outed by media for this educational failing. which many black people in this community deemed the sin of sins. All the members of the system defend the white jewish community.

What is the point? the point isn't about power or money or education but truth...It is the black community in the usa's unwillingness to accept the truth.
We are a people in the usa who come from those who never wanted to be in the usa. We as a group or individually have no obligation to support any position in the usa or the usa itself. We can but we are not obliged. And in that freedom we have always had varying groups in the usa that can not work together functionally cause what they want is counterpose. But while we don't have the power or money, we can be honest.
It does not take power or money or education to be truthful to oneself. To many black individuals or groups in the usa spent and spend too much time telling other black individuals or groups how they need to be like them, or telling them all is right if not for this or all is wrong if not for that. Find black people you are similar too and make what you are working on together better.

Here is the article
https://aalbc.com/tc/profile/6477-richardmurray/?status=2064&type=status

To any who read this

I always ask black people online or offline to join this website. But I never call them names if they don't. They are not ignorant if they don't. They are not lazy if they don't. They are not uneducated. They have the right to not believe in something. Second only to the NAtive American, Black people in the USA should know better any other that results are a better proof than any speech or regaling.  And if I want better results in this website then I have to work to make it better, regardless of Troy who owns the website or any other member in it. And in making the website better, people will come. I can fail or nothing can change, but that isn't the people's fault. The key is to keep improving what the group you are a part of in the village is trying to do, and the village will be best when all groups thrive, which will happen one day.
