Someone somewhere suggested Clarence Thomas , a current  < 2023>  supreme court judge in the usa, is elitist. While I dislike Clarence Thomas I think that label is a mischarecterization. Elitism at its core is a matter of selection, in the same zone as eugenics or a caste system or the phenotypical order in the usa.
