2nd Annual Capital BookFest

After a
stellar inaugural Capital BookFest, attended by over 1000 adults
and children, The Blvd @ Cap Centre and Borders Books and Music are proud
to host the Second Annual Capital BookFest on October 7, 2006.
Brought to you by Capital BookFest,
LLC, in association with The Literacy Council of Prince George�s County, MD,
this one day multi-cultural book festival will feature
author readings, panels, writing and
publishing workshops, poetry performances, live music, children�s storytelling,
and exhibitors from the Washington Metropolitan area, celebrating the literary
arts and promoting literacy in Prince Georges County, Maryland. The 2006 CBF
website will be available in mid-Spring 2006.
This free literary event is open to the
public, and is produced by Carla A. Nelson and Kwame Alexander, in association
with The
Literacy Council of Prince George's County, MD, which serves as the
primary non-profit organization for the implementation of literacy programs in
the county. The Literacy Council tutors adult
learners in acquiring the essentials of reading, writing, and comprehension
skills. This service assists individuals in gaining independence and the
realization of their full potential as contributing members of their family and
community.
