Earl Cox started his career in publishing nearly eighteen years ago as a shipping and receiving clerk at the Baruch College Bookstore in New York City. He gradually moved up the ranks to manage the Doubleday Bookshop (now Barnes and Noble) at Citicorp Center in Manhattan.

Mr. Cox is currently a National Accounts Manager and the African American Books Sales Manager with John Wiley & Sons, Inc. At Wiley, he is responsible for retail, wholesale and library accounts. In addition, he manages the nationwide sales and promotion of Wiley's African American and multicultural books.

In 1999 Mr. Cox founded and launched Writers and Poets.com, an online book and magazine consulting firm. Writers and Poets.com's clients include national black owned magazines, The African American Literature Book Club, Mosaic Literary Magazine; Robin's Bookstore in Philadelphia and several successful authors. Writers and Poets.com also offers printing and distribution services.

Mr. Cox holds a bachelor's degree in Retailing and Sales from Baruch College in NY. He also holds a Certificate in Publishing from the prestigious Stanford University Professional Publishing Course. He is on the faculty of the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies' Center for Publishing. He speaks frequently at industry seminars and has been quoted in Publisher's Weekly, Black Issues Book Review and Folio Magazine.

Mr. Cox resides in Philadelphia but is a native of the Bronx, NY.
