Bessie Head
Biography
Bessie Head (July 6, 1937 –0 April 171986), was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa but is recognized as of of Botswana&rdsquo;s most influential writers. Head wrote novels, short fiction, and autobiographical works.
Her work is described in The Poetics of Difference: Queer Feminist Forms in the African Diaspora by Mecca Jamilah Sullivan
