Carlotta Walls LaNier
Biography
Carlotta Walls LaNier is a member of the Little Rock Nine, who gained national attention for the role she played in desegregating Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
A civil rights pioneer, LaNier has been recognized for her courage and leadership through several prestigious honors:
- Recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal
- Awarded six honorary degrees
- Frequent speaker at venues across the country regarding civil rights and perseverance
