Lenny McAllister
Biography
After leaving Davidson College in 1992 and returning to graduate in 2002, he built a defining career bridging business, media, and public policy. Lenny McAllister has served as CEO of a nonprofit, an adjunct professor, and a policy expert with award-winning think tanks. Currently, he hosts a show on the Marconi Award-winning Newsradio KDKA.
A sought-after public voice, Lenny has appeared on national outlets including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and NPR, offering thoughtful perspectives that challenge partisan rifts. His commentary has been widely featured in USA Today, The Dallas Morning News, and The Root, among others.
A unique leader who has never fit neatly into standard boxes, Lenny has spent decades advocating for principles rooted in security, empowerment, and opportunity rather than tribal loyalty. His work spans across the political landscape from The Heritage Foundation to The Rainbow PUSH Coalition, demonstrating a rare commitment to finding common ground across deep cultural divides.
Lenny lives in Pittsburgh with Lannie, a “Second Act” student who earned her biology degree at fifty-three. Their twenty-five-year marriage and shared commitment to resilience inspire his belief that America’s strength lies not in choosing sides, but in building bridges.
