Biography

Lenzy Leroy-Hancock is a proud father of four children who serve as his primary inspiration to strive for greatness. A retired Department of Defense employee and a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, he has dedicated his later years to a new passion: writing with a purpose. Based in North Florida, he serves as the president and coach of Jacksonville Magic Hope, a non-profit youth organization committed to empowering local athletes.

Leroy-Hancock holds a B.S. in Human Services from Florida State College at Jacksonville. While his academic background provides a strong foundation, his deepest understanding of service was forged firsthand. He credits his early life mentors and the “steady grind” of working with community leaders and youth for shaping his character. This dynamic environment fueled a lifelong dedication to public service.

With over 25 years of experience coaching and mentoring the youth of North Florida, Leroy-Hancock has navigated the highs and lows of leadership—weathering heartaches and losses alongside his triumphs. He possesses outstanding organizational skills and extensive experience in event planning, traits bolstered by his disciplined military background.

His journey has been defined by a “hard life and troubled upbringing,” experiences he has transformed into a compassionate, spiritual, and disciplined leadership style. He views his life’s “peaks and valleys” as essential to developing his heart for others. Driven by faith and a desire to be used by God, he remains committed to supporting his community in any way he is called.

An emerging author and speaker, Leroy-Hancock shares stories spanning his childhood, military service, and family life. Through his books and upcoming speaking engagements, he plans to share his journey and the transformative power of love with youth, young adults, and parents alike.
